received my principle card from taipan branch on friday.... funny thing is, my supplimentary have to collect from gardens branch on SUNDAY even after i've placed instruction to collect both cards from taipan. Their internal communications really need to improve.

Nice to see that the starwood promo has been extended to 2015.

Bro, like I said you blur-est person in Credit Card Section. Simple math also don't know and want to give guidance to others. Zero means nothing lah!!!

It is a fact that you are now after post counts again. It is so obvious that you stopped posting as smsbusiness2u and started another username with sms2u. This new username joined in December 2013 and today got 500+ posts!!!! But it is not surprising how you got so many posts in such a short time as you have spamming every where in the Finance Section instead of just sticking to Garage Sale where you got no post count.

hahahaha, and you admitted you No.1 Spammer in Credit Card Section. And of course you will reply this post because you after post counts, hahaha

To ALL: over the years, many con men (including sellers at garage sale) have come to Credit Card section and post for the simple fact to get post counts so that they can give the impression to others that they are members that contribute.

and this sms2u is the top spammer known as smsbusiness2u previously.

dining privileges is more for KL city lo. Can't blame the banks cos there's not many high end hotels outside of KL.

I just went to the nearest MBB branch apply for MBB2 Premier card. Not sure if I have made the right decision to drop by into branch instead of Card center.

I have a couple of MBB FD which I did last year, 4% FD upfront too. Hopefully they let me use to pledge for this card.

Branch also can apply. just that whether they got any incentive to expedite your application. Gardens cardcenter was quite good in the sense they update me on the process (ie, submission of form, eta on approval). Just that if you need to pledge FD, then it's up to the branch to provide their service.

you did the right thing. i went to card center, and they explained to me that my income doesnt meet the requirement, so they cannot process. they suggested me to walk in to branch or go to any place that got maybank credit card booth/roadshow, that will be easier because they have different process and can help you to appeal if your income doessnt meet 180k/year

i tried to talk to branch, they seems very reluctant to help me.

one of the cardcenter staff refer me to maybank credit card sales guy, a very helpful guy, he helped me to submit. this guy know how to process the application with FD pledge. he told me he had experience to help people without income (such as house wife) to get this card with FD pledge.

so now i am waiting for card center to process and get back to me on how much i should pledge in order to get the card.

i need to thank @herc who wrote the steps how to apply this.

The simplest way is simply to write a letter to offer to pledge. The credit unit will then send you a letter to offer. Then just bring this to any branch. It can be frustrating frankly but I guess it is well worthy of the effort.

I think many of us has shared it is basically a 30k CL, you just top up via FD to 30k from your existing given CL by Maybank.

May I ask how long is the whole process from the moment you submit the application till the moment you received your card?

About a month. It can be faster as 20 days is spent on waiting for the offer letter to arrive.

Hi kmarc,

Can i know which branch and staff you speak to on the 30k FD pledge? Hopefully i cam speak to a staff who is familiar with this pledge.

Im interested to upgrade from mbb2cards platinum to premier. Currently holding mbb VS as well.

Thank you.

From my experience, fastest way is to place FD then contact the MBB Premier card centre to apply, only visit the branch once you have the offer letter from them in the post.

I did this way for VS and Premier also - was much faster this way than doing the whole thing in branch (which I did for MBB 2)

Roughly about 10 days. Went to the main branch to apply and had to collect the card directly from the branch.
