QUOTE(David83 @ Feb 18 2014, 09:29 PM) What is so great about this card by the way? Somemore needs minimum annual income of RM180,000 Looks like the only interesting part is lower redemption for Enrich miles (same as VI, also has 180K requirement) Otheriwse very similar to VI, including annual fee, but higher spend required to waive. Won't be applying for this (unless there's a Visa/Master that comes with it that can earn 5x points on local spend )

QUOTE(Phelddagriff @ Feb 18 2014, 11:25 PM) So you get both the normal MBB VI (not MU) and the new Amex Reserve? The 80k spend is both cards combined or just the Amex? Funny there is no mention of the VI, just a picture of it. Does the VI even have the features of the normal VI? Or is it too early to know... Looks like it , I guess we need to wait until the details show on Maybank's website.

QUOTE(max_cavalera @ Feb 18 2014, 11:59 PM) +1. This card is targeted to affluent/high nett worth customer base that does air travel a lot. If Im not mistaken during recent training. A RM1 spent on this card will get you 1.1 miles travel point. Thats the most generous mileage ever given...If im not mistaken CIMB Mastercard World Enrich only gives half of that... But that's the same redemption with overseas spend on MBB VI (That gives Priority pass too, although limited to 5 entries...) I guess the best combo is using the Amex for local spend , then VI for overseas (for collecting Enrich, at least)

I wonder what card they supply alongside the Amex, the product disclosure also states "RM 800 for both Cards."
No priority pass is a bit disappointing though.

QUOTE(Alec.Yong @ Feb 19 2014, 11:28 AM) I remembered RM told me the VI of this Maybank 2 Cards Premier do comes with the Priority Pass Card, with the limitation of 5x access per year. I just apply for these cards, with the existing of WMC/VI, no income docs required for the application, just an add on card application.. Once i got these card, will terminate my current VI and ask to transfer all the TPs to the new MBB 2 Cards Premier VI. But i will still keep the MU VI. Ah, that means this comes as Maybank Amex Premier + Visa Infinite, if it does have all the same benefits as existing VI I may do the same - apply for these 2 and get rid of the VI. Is there any extra benefits of the MU VI? Looks pretty much identical to the standard VI to me

QUOTE(bearbear @ Feb 19 2014, 12:15 PM) sorry which part of this card is better than infinite vi? 1. Amex has higher exchange rate 2. 80k vs 50k for waiver i don't see the benefit of this product at all, weird product to be introduced. 5 x TP on Amex local spend , with same redemption ratio as VI : 4500 TP for 1000 Enrich (7000 for other cards, apart from WMC) So best combo for Enrich redemption is Amex for local, Visa for foreign 5x TP I guess it makes sense for the waiver to be a bit higher as there's a second card involved (transactions I'd normally put on the standard MBB2 Amex) Also slightly unrelated to this card - it looks like Maybank has reduced eligibility to 180K from 240K for WMC (I'm sure it was 240K last time I checked)

QUOTE(ronnie @ Feb 19 2014, 12:38 PM) Why do they call it "Maybank 2" ?? Apparently you get the Amex and VI together. Although the website doesn't make that clear - it just mentions "both cards"

QUOTE(digitalcode @ Feb 19 2014, 02:11 PM) If I have 45,000 TP now, and I apply this card. Can I redeem 10,000 Enrich miles once the card is approved? What card are the 45000 TP under? Only using your VI / this new premier card points can redeem 1000 Enrich @ 4500 eg. if I have 70,000 points on my current MBB2 Amex but also hold, I can only redeem 10K Enrich for those - not at the VI ratio.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Feb 22 2014, 10:41 PM) WOW! Fantastic, local spending 5X TP with same conversion for Enrich Miles as MBB VI. Based on what I have been preaching that my Maybank Visa Infinite gives me up to equivalent 30% cash back for overseas spending (click here to read my article about it), the same can be said for this card (the AMEX) So, this card is excellent for those who spend RM80K a year locally. However, too bad its for AMEX only and not Visa or MasterCard, therefore I won't be applying for this card. IF it had offered 5X TP for the Visa or for government bodies then I definitely will go find someway to get it. I just used my MBB VI to get 2X TP pay for local council assessment bills and earn myself 2X TP too. Nowadays my major local expenses are for Air Asia tickets and it is no where near the RM80K spending to get auto annual fee waiver. For overseas, I still think Maybank Visa is better as it is accepted at more places including for schools/universities tuition fees. But this Amex comes together with the VI - and the RM80k spending limit is combined between the two. If you can reach RM80K between Amex locally and VI overseas this card makes sense for Enrich collecting Although I have to admit, Maybank website doesn't give great details at all.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Feb 22 2014, 11:07 PM) So it comes with VI giving 5XTP and 2XTP for overseas and local spending respectively? If yes, you are right, I should go get these cards. Indeed. See below reply from Maybank when I enquired : They should really change their product information page on their website and give full information. Doesn't even say there which card is supplied!

Spoke to CS today to apply, they'll call me back tomorrow to complete. But according to the guy I'd need to do the application first then only cancel my existing VI after.
I hope this isn't the case as I've put FDs for all my Maybank cards and don't want to go through the hassle of linking another one for the new card. I hope they can clarify tomorrow

Application done. Maybank phoned back today and had all my details already , no forms or anything to fill out. Should be able to collect the cards soon, then cancel my existing VI afterwards

BTW, I went through a few recent foreign transactions to compare , see below. I used the historical spot rate on Oanda on the Transaction date, didn't bother to check the VISA rate for each transaction.

And here with using the Posting Date also ... according to what I found on Google the currency conversation is done on the posting date rather than transaction date.

QUOTE(Alec.Yong @ Feb 26 2014, 11:26 AM) Any idea on MBB cards issued in other countries, ie, Singapore, Brunei, Philipines? All using 'Maybank'? I do remember for the past ten years ago, they were using 'Maybank', when I got my first MBB card. Then don't know change to 'Maybankard'.. Looking at Google Image search .. looks like Singapore cards at least use "Maybank" as well as "Maybankard" as the logo. Doesn't bother me either way really, would be nice to be consistent though. I still wonder who wrote the product information page on the cards http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...sonal/CRD-CardsStill doesn't mention that the card comes together with the VI , and some dodgy English QUOTE Maybank 2 Cards Reserve American Express® Card gives you higher Treats Points earn.
