That's how Lego S@H works. They will not ship to any other then residential addresses or if they detect that its a parallel import/export transaction. They will cancel without notice.

So just be aware for those collecting pre-orders here, is subject to confirmation of delivery if you order from LEGO S@H.

The Lego China Center will only start operational in 2017. I need my Lego now!!

With Lego Trading taking over distributorship in Malaysia they can use the Legoland as the center and start Shop@Home in Malaysia. Then we can get Lego Magazine subscription as well!! Kinda weird having Legoland here but no access to Lego membership.

There is no advertisement in tv also in cinema. I wonder what is wrong with Lego Movie promotion in Malaysia, something fishy is going on. If there is no ad, we cannot hope for any minifig to be given away when go watch the movie. hmm.gif

Lego Movie set is available in Amazon US and it is cheaper to buy there. for example if buy Metalbeard Duel + Lord Business Lair(currently on sale) will cost RM405 include shipping. Where if buy in BBT or BV will cost arounf RM475.

Latest my wife bought me mindstorms ev3 from Amazon US and they already improve their packaging, not a slight dent on the box and she bought it for RM1270 include shipping :-)

Hmm... how you buy from Amazon? I thought they dont deliver directly to Malaysia if its Lego? Do you use services like hopshopgo or borderlinx?

Amazon US is actually offering International Shipping to Malaysia but not all set, normally for current and new set only. When you browse in amazon, make sure to check Global Shipping Eligible to filter all set that able to be send to Malaysia. And I use Newest Arrival filter to find new set available smile.gif

Yeah..the conversion is quite high currently. Amazon US is currently having 20% discount to all Lego Movie set. thumbup.gif

If just buy 1 set, the price is just slightly cheaper, but if buy like 2 or more set can reduced a lot on shipping drool.gif

Where is LLM?

Wanna ask...box condition important or not?

LLM = Legoland Malaysia.

I think box abit dented shouldn't be a problem for me unless you're keeping for future sales. As long as the box condition is not flattened one side and hope that no small bags fall off upon delivery lol.

Yeah...Amazon shipping is a killer.
Thats why I send to my friends house & use a different shipping instead... biggrin.gif
The shipping for that kind of drawer that my friend charge me its around RM60-80. I think its not bad la for that size.

Hi guys, I am new to Lego. I am going through the catalogue after watching the Lego movie (which by the way is incredible) and I was just wondering if there's an easy way to sort Lego products in varying difficulty or does a newb just look for the highest average age (10-16) and then look for the largest number of pieces?

Thanks for helping out.

Nope, unfortunately there is no easier way. Just the way that works best for you. My advice is ... find a Lego theme which appeals to you, maybe a Movie, Friends, Super Heroes, City etc. Start with a small set and work your way up. If you like you can start a big set and work your way down. Is really up to you, based on your personal liking.

It depend for whom you buy the Lego set, if for your kids, you can follow the age recommendation. If you buy for yourself, you can buy any set that appeal to you because Lego building instruction is really clear and easy to follow. The main point is to have fun and learn new thing smile.gif

Assuming you're waaaay over stipulated LEGO suggested age range on the box, I suggest you not worry over the # parts or difficulty level. If you like the final model as shown on the box ... just grab it . You might take 1 hour, 2 hour or even half a day to build it.. but im sure it will be completed eventually.

The fun is in the building smile.gif

I found that during booking with gsc the house they allocate for Lego Movie is very very small eventhough the movie just released. Are they thinking the movie will be a flop? I found that Lego Movie have not been treat fairly by local cinema. There must be some people did not want Lego Movie to become popular. I wonder why this is happen in Malaysia, the only Asia country that have Legoland.

General perception of LEGO = kiddy. LEGO movie = kiddy movie . Locals might treat it same like Winnie the pooh or doraemon movie I think (one off entertainment for their kids, then go home sleep. ) rather than "oh wow this is truly epic!! Now I'm hooked on the toys".

I won't be bothered at all about the movie's reception locally or worldwide. As a toyline, LEGO is already up there at the top rung . As a AFOL, I'm satisfied
with their offerings so far.

I know its under kids genre, but come on, on a 1st week of release? This is ridiculous. I just feel this happen only to Malaysia and somebody is behind it.

cinemas are running a business. allocation is based on expected crowd for the movie and pulling power of each movie. what for they allocate multiple cinemas or big cinemas if no crowd turn up? sweat.gif

Having legoland does not make msia a "atas" country. Only reason why its here is cos the land cost is cheap and its relative "closeness" to a certain neighboring country.. Purchasing power of msians for lego is really a pittance and small compared to countries like HK or spore. for every 1 "mega taikun" here in msia, there are prob 10-20 of them in spore/HK. whistling.gif laugh.gif

Does it mean they think The Lego Movie will be a flop? I know cinema running a business, but its normal to give way for new movie a big hall and as time goes if the movie didn't do well will slowly convert to small hall. But give small hall at the start of screening is a bit unfair.

Having LLM never make us the "atas" country, and our buying power is not that good compare to all the D currency country. What I mean is, when we have LLM in our country, doesn't it make more sense to give more support to the movie? When more people watch it, more will be attract to Lego and probably will raise the number of people to go visit LLM.

I don't know why GSC is using small hall for The Lego Movie, but if I'm not mistaken my show tonight in TGV will be in one of the bigger halls.

This LEGO Movie and Happy Meal talk reminds me of a unique movie going experience with my dad many years ago. In fact, it was 1987.

My dad took me to watch the He-Man movie "Masters of the Universe" in one of the old theaters which I believe was either Paramount or Ruby in Petaling Jaya.

What made the experience even more awesome was that there was a booth selling Masters of the Universe toys and my dad bought me some action figures and also a "glow in the dark" and battery operated He-Man sword (which looked like a lightsaber!)

LEGO could've done something like this for the release of this movie. Set up a booth or stall and sell merchandise as joint promotion or something.

EVRYTHING IS AWESOME!!! deng, cant get that song out of my head. Yes, the movie is awesome, really unexpected twist lol.. lovin it. Sadly, no free door gift else will be Totally Awesome! .. The hall i was in is small and the audience that turn up is like..less then 10ppl.. (this is on a weekday afternoon show). Nothing xtra at ending clip so no need to stay back. The OST is a must get for me.. That it. Enjoy the show u all.

The hall i was in is small and the audience that turn up is like..less then 10ppl.. (this is on a weekday afternoon show). Nothing xtra at ending clip so no need to stay back. Tat would be awesome

Not sure that is a good idea. Some children might swallow, become big issue for McD and Lego. But a "minifig" the size of normal Happy meal toy would be nice. Like Action Wyldstyle, or Jumping Emmet. Oh, well, we can dream can't we?

So, went to watch the 3D movie last night at 1145pm TGV KLCC. I had the hall all to myself. I hope more attendance this weekend or the movie wont last 2 weeks. With all the promo on the net seems like the movie is not gaining traction here. I wonder why.

The movie is a bet of a let down, maybe because my expectation is a bit high. The story is good but the pacing is a bit fast and abrupt. Batman!!!. A lot of critics complained about the 3rd act, but for me it is a nice touch. Can't elaborate more without spoiling but you will understand why some ppl likes it and some don't.

And am not sure what is wrong with TGV but the movie colour seems a bit washed out ( not as bright and lively like the trailer ) and the sound is flat, like just 2 channel stereo and not surround sound.

Would I watch it again? Yes, but not 3D. It looks good in 3D but not required. Batman!!!. Movies like Gravity and Life of Pi can only be appreciated in 3D, but not Lego movie so you can save yr money and use it to buy multiple show of normal movie.

For those who haven't watch, try to catch in this week. Watch it more than once. Lots of action in the background that you'll miss. Heck, going again tomorrow with my son and maybe sneak in another next week.

I only found the Lego movie toys available at Isetan. Seems like the other places not available. And the price seems ok. Small sets 49.90 all the way to big sets RM249.00. Seems like better priced compared to the other ranges.

I watched The Lego Movie yesterday at MBO Subang Parade. The color and graphics are really top notch and awesome! At that time during the 2.40 pm show maybe about 15-20 people were watching, so not that bad.

Anyone saw any vehicles, buildings etc which you recognized?

Its Lego, a building toy. Just to tell you don't need to buy LEGO in expensive sets. You can create your own. Like in the Movies.

Lego Movie was great. Just finished. Indeed msg was targetted to dads/moms all over. Myself tend to be that too. Felt it. Will make "awesome" changes definite. And of course the main msg was self-belief!!! 😊😊😊

My kid laughs and loves it all the way. I felt for the lil fella too. Cinema was packed for a 5pm show. Awesome with lots of laughter all round. Bravo!

Guys, I was wondering if you know where I can get the Tower Bridge Lego Set in KL and what would be the price I should expect to pay?

Is there a big difference in price between importing one set and purchasing from retailer?

Sorry for asking silly questions, learning my ropes with Lego biggrin.gif

Actually can I know the difference between these items:

1) Some sets are labeled Lego Creator and Lego Creator EXPERT. What is the difference between "EXPERT" and non-expert?
2) Lego Modular Houses - are they more difficult compared to sets not under the series? Say example Sydney Opera House 2k pieces is not under Modular or even Lego CREATOR expert but it is not considered a Modular set even though it has the LEGO CREATOR logo on it.

Thanks

Good morning. Traffic back to crazy this morning.

Haven't seen "The Lego Movie" yet but seems it's doing very well. #1 in North American box office with USD $ 69.1 million.

Morning fellow AFOL.. biggrin.gif

Managed to catch The LEGO Movie yesterday (on my birthday tongue.gif) in MBO.. It was in the smallest hall but there was 4 screenings per day.. The crowd was quite good actually, around 30 to 40 people.. (Compared to when i watched Desolation of Smaug, less than 10 people doh.gif)

The main idea that revolves around the movie is the core of LEGO altogether, IMAGINATION.. Awesome movie.. Planning to watch it again.. biggrin.gif

P/S: Watching the movie makes me wanna get MetalBeard's Sea Cow (Maybe influence from playing Assassin's Creed 4 too.. sweat.gif)

THis is horrible. why not use spoilers for those who havent seen the movie?

I can maybe understand if the spoiler was revealed in "movies & music" subforum (thats why Im avoiding it like a plaque ). Im here casually layaning and expecting LEGO (toys) discussion in "Hobbies" subforum and you dropped the above!

Since I am currently has start to learn and play with my Lego Mindstorms, I go to Sasbadi.com to get some info on future upgrade I can get with my Mindstorms. What upset me is the price is way too pricey and total ridiculous. The ev3 brick alone is RM1300 and I was like blink.gif . Really hate the way people do business in Malaysia. Sole distributor always mark up the price kaw-kaw to maximise profit vmad.gif

Nope. Left already. I don't see any movie sets. No more big offers like end of last year. Only things are the usual rm10 for polybags and a tent that offers up to 70% discounts on selected merchandises... Mostly clothes and I saw some monster fighter and Lone Ranger (no train). I didn't have time to compare the prices though... If I'm not mistaken saw the silver mine Lone Ranger for around rm224? (Can't confirm)

Locally only can get Village Grocer, Petaling Street Market and Kopitiam. rclxms.gif Others don't hope unless sourced overseas. You may get lucky from individual sellers from Singapore.

No local reseller AFAIK, but there are several set selling in ebay. Just ready to prepare your money tree, you will need more than 1 tree to get all 3.

Cheaper option is to buy separate parts from bricklink, but still not that cheap.

Feel like getting the new LEGO movie police dropship, seems to have a great amount of minifigs and playability.

It's LEGO toy. Be creative. I got my modular attack by creator eagle also on top of the pet shop. Super heroes Superman taking over the mayor job from the town house and spiderman just hanging around the Palace cinema. Catwoman go into Grand emporium found no clothes can fit her.

Yep. My LEGO city has various "fantasy" minifigs (Chima,Ninjago) terrorizing and battling it out on the 7937 train station , hiding behind nooks and corners. 2 stormtroopers are waiting on the staion platform for donno what reason. One of the Space set 70707 perched on to 4650 Train and taking over the coach, opening up to ambush the insect-like aliens who thought they can catch a train back to their insect-planet.

Meanwhile, superman it battling Zodd in one corner ,toppling the tower on top of the rail tracks.

All these happened on a small tablespace of nearly 6x2 feet.

Wait, more stuff happened on the shelf above it.. but I'm lazy to describe. tongue.gif

all the road plate can fit City transport though, so far City is the best in transportation. some theme, the vehicle appear to be too big and cannot fit into the road plate.

I think it's not the real selling price.

ALL ARE LEGO ORIGINAL COMPLETE SETS WITH INSTRUCTION BOOKLETS.

Prices range from SGD150 to SGD4500 (for 10179)

Nope, not locally definitely. sad.gif

Need to follow these guys closely if you want to get them either FREE or rather inexpensively.

Otherwise you can get on E-Bay or Bricklink but pay a premium for it.

Since they are newly released it's still relatively cheap to get them. Just to need to know where to find.

The other way is to get the movie game from best buy. Still cannot challenge. Going to cinema as still best as I was told movie goers just grab the polybags from a grab box. The greedy ones will take more.

The distribution is exactly half of the box of 60, ie. you get one complete set of 16 minifigs plus extras.

I always refer to WhiteFang from Singapore for CMF box distribution, here is the link:

I can't do for it because kids play with it like Lego doll house. Can't have wiring all over the modular. Not safe for them.
