maybe each audience can get a classic 2x4 brick, the ONE that started it all over half a century ago. LOL.

Assuming you're waaaay over stipulated LEGO suggested age range on the box, I suggest you not worry over the # parts or difficulty level. If you like the final model as shown on the box ... just grab it . You might take 1 hour, 2 hour or even half a day to build it.. but im sure it will be completed eventually.

General perception of LEGO = kiddy. LEGO movie = kiddy movie . Locals might treat it same like Winnie the pooh or doraemon movie I think (one off entertainment for their kids, then go home sleep. ) rather than "oh wow this is truly epic!! Now I'm hooked on the toys".


I won't be bothered at all about the movie's reception locally or worldwide. As a toyline, LEGO is already up there at the top rung . As a AFOL, I'm satisfied
with their offerings so far.

THis is horrible. why not use spoilers for those who havent seen the movie?

I can maybe understand if the spoiler was revealed in "movies & music" subforum (thats why Im avoiding it like a plaque ). Im here casually layaning and expecting LEGO (toys) discussion in "Hobbies" subforum and you dropped the above!

Yep. My LEGO city has various "fantasy" minifigs (Chima,Ninjago) terrorizing and battling it out on the 7937 train station , hiding behind nooks and corners. 2 stormtroopers are waiting on the staion platform for donno what reason. One of the Space set 70707 perched on to 4650 Train and taking over the coach, opening up to ambush the insect-like aliens who thought they can catch a train back to their insect-planet.

Meanwhile, superman it battling Zodd in one corner ,toppling the tower on top of the rail tracks.

All these happened on a small tablespace of nearly 6x2 feet.

Wait, more stuff happened on the shelf above it.. but I'm lazy to describe.

Me too. This years Creator pricepoint is very generous.

Don't be shocked by the huge hauls made by members here. Don't worry there are still frugal LEGO buyer like me in the cmmunity. If you're on a budget, you can just wait for sale ..at least 10% discount in many popular malls.

If any set caught your eye and you wanted it badly, but expensive.. then start saving $$ for it I guess.

Back to reality , when one is on a budget, I don't think its sensible to ask him/her to splurge immediately especially on hobby items like these. Of coz in LEGO-centric community/thread, "BUY BUY BUY now " seemed "fine" too.

example: I saw ebay listing selling LEGO stuff with reason like " need $$$ for urgent matters"


I guess there are difference in mindset between deep pockets like you vs poorfag like me....

I've read once in a book that mentioned that LEGO designed their toylines 3 years in advance.

This "MOC" doesnt require parts to be dismantled from main model.. hence My Own Contortion.

Just fold the limbs into the right position and its done!

The catch with BLinking parts to make a set is the $$$ doesn't justify the effort and time put

patience is require to complete the sourcing of parts, and also the time taken to browse the parts and get the best deal from the BL shops all over.

I know coz I'm in the middle of BLinking parts to build multiple copies of my MOC to be sold in the future. I build a web app just to help me compare prices (which shop offer which part at he best price etc). tedious.
