for a start i don't think they expect those sets to be toys for most children... there are whole lot of smaller sets to satisfy kids..
imagine you were to spend thousand plus on a set.. and let small kids play with it.. missing few pieces will definitely trigger this reaction:

Just watched the movie today.. Awesome

TLG released the play sets so early.. after weeks (or months) of seeing the photos, suddenly all the movie sets look tempting when they appear.. haha

think it could turn out to be more like jor-el rather than iron patriot... free gift from qualifying purchase.. technically iron patriot no where else to get except from the game..

lazada still don't have 2014 sets yet.. kinda disappointing.. they used to have new sets pretty fast last year..

kinda mixed reviews so far for the sea cow.. but that remains as the only movie set that i'm going to buy... haha

yeah malas to browse through BOM lately.. so much KO stuff... especially the minifig boxes...

2012, shell promotion with lego brought a lot of ppl back from the dark ages (me included)... cause the polybags were cheap, and fun to collect the whole set.
2014, the lego movie has the potential to do so, but the lack of movie sets on sale after the movie is shown in cinemas somewhat limited that potential. even the mcd mugs / cups that can provide extra exposure haven't make it to malaysia yet.. kinda disappointing.

was at one utama parkson over the weekend... they have some movie sets but didn't have the cycle chase set..

i got mine last year from overseas.. used set some more.. would be difficult to find an MISB one in malaysia now..

exclusive minifigure available for all themes or only lego movie? think only the lego movie....

such images are always going to create a stir in the community.. haha

part of my buying strategy for this year. just to hunt down the exclusive figs in the super heroes sets instead of buying all the play sets
