Warranty for my car has expired, can any taikor here  recommend an independent  WORKSHOP in PJ or KL that can repair Ford cars , hopefully they carry enough range and quantity of ford parts ,
*
just replaced a pair of rear stabilizer link + bushing at Ford Penchala and cost me RM450 + labor RM50, very costly in my opinion but at least the service centre mechanic was friendly and efficient .

my car is 3.5 years old and 55000 km mileage.

6 months ago had to replace the engine bushing and gear box cable that would have cost RM1000 but luckily my car was still covered by warranty.

anyone of you have problem with front parking sensor>? Please do let me know if have and how to fix it.

Hi owk688,

I don't have front parking sensors (non-Plus) but from what I can remember, the numberplate installed by the local dealer sometimes interferes with the sensor. You can adjust the mounting of the numberplate or even replace it with a smaller one I guess....

sorry no further details....

Or make sure that the edge of the number plat is affix to the body of the car (section which is pre-allocated for the plat). Try use a good double sided tape like 3M. smile.gif

Similarly, I was wondering on this matter for a while. I called Ford Customer service 5 minutes ago and they advised me to call the spare parts guy En. Halim on 03-7718 1273 to check on the battery type. It is lunch time now so I'll call later.

From my conversation with the customer service lady, it is advisable to purchase the same brand and type of battery if owners were to replace the battery outside, to avoid any problems that may affect the electronics of the vehicle that may eventually lead to warranty void. I'll get further details on this when I call Halim later.

Just called (another more knowledgeable service adviser) and found out that the battery is under warranty for 3years/100,000km.

If the car is out of warranty, Sime Darby charges RM568 for the Ford Focus' battery which is maintenance-free type. It appears that this battery in the Focus is different from most common passenger vehicles. Not too sure how special the battery is and whether we can easily find it in the shops.

Thanks bro, I'm aware of the warranty coverage is including the battery. in fact, i did change mine FOC a year ago. But if I'm not mistaken they only covered for the first time replacement only. The next replacement regardless its still under warranty or not, we have to pay for it.

Yes, the price is kinda pricey if we change it at Ford SC. That was why I'm asking whether our battery can be bought easily outside which i believe will be cheaper than SC smile.gif

Noticed Ford Focus has one gimmick feature that surprised me last week. While driving on highway, the driving screen prompt me a message "Break Lamp Bulb Fault" to alert me for bulb changes. This feature really helpful and I immediately change my brake light bulb before kena saman or putting myself in danger while driving in the night.

Mine FoFo has updated with software and performed change on clutch seal in July 2014
No grinding and rattling sound after this. But pay for the price of higher fuel consumption.
In the past, one full tank can last for 500km to 600km.
Now, only last for 480km to 580km. But I'm happy with it.

Thanks Jameshy. Glad to hear your issues has resolved like mine.

Thanks. Notice most of the owners here are having the problem with vibrating and jerking during the low speed. Is this car got paddle shift?

Vibrating n jerking is unavoidable but the severity is varies. As for paddle shift, no it dont have but have up/down button at gear that can be use in S mode.

Minor jerking at low speed but not sure what vibration are you referring to. No vibration. This car does not have paddle shift but instead there is manual gears on the gear knob. You don't need the paddle shifters as the acceleration in D is decently powerful. There is Sports mode for a more enthusiastic drive or select driving conditions such as when driving up Genting Highlands.
