Do you try this before? When one of passenger door is not closed, we still can lock the car, no alarm warning, the side mirror is still auto fold, no indicator or signal to alert the driver. Tested few focus and all having this issue. Even SA was shocked when been informed, try on the show room car, also the same problem. The SA followed up the case with Ford and was told this is one of the safety feature from Ford!!! Would it be all ford models are having this "safety features"?

Uhm, didn't really know about this, but I cannot see the point or safety feature. If we lock the car and one door is not closed properly(unlocked) while the other 3 doors are locked, and the driver walks away since there is no alarm warning, other people would be able to gain access into the vehicle through that unlocked door isn't it?

Yes, I also feel ford explanation is not really make any sense. Will try other ford model to find the real answer on my next visit to ford service center in March.

Being a GLC status company , you can't expect much from them cause I'm working under Sime Darby Group too. I understand how you feel bro, Cheer up!  There was time I was so pissed off with the service from PJ branch and my new  Fofo caused me replacement of gear clutch  which took up to a week in PJ workshop.

Then, one of my colleauge told me to switch to Puchong service centre under Persada Auto . The service is not very fantastic but at least they solve my problems with clear explantation. Not like the Indian Manager from Sime Darby PJ who knows how to act like Tai Chi Master , Kung Fu Tai Chi  left and right without solving my problems.

One good thing , Persada Auto manage to minimize two things which really annoyed me all the shile , the grinding sound and rattling sound become lesser after my previous service .  The problems still there but not as bad as before  during my previous service before Christmas.  They have updated a software to calibrate my gear , the gear changes around  2500RPM  from first to second onwards during normal acceleration. Not like previously ,normal acceleration for  gear  changed around 2000rpm from first to second gear  onwards.  In terms of fuel consumption , the current situation consume more fuel, perhaps higher RPM of changing gear but grinding sound is lesser.

Did anyone of you encounter this? Please share.

Mine FoFo has updated with software and performed change on clutch seal in July 2014
No grinding and rattling sound after this. But pay for the price of higher fuel consumption.
In the past, one full tank can last for 500km to 600km.
Now, only last for 480km to 580km. But I'm happy with it.

Noticed Ford Focus has one gimmick feature that surprised me last week. While driving on highway, the driving screen prompt me a message "Break Lamp Bulb Fault" to alert me for bulb changes. This feature really helpful and I immediately change my brake light bulb before kena saman or putting myself in danger while driving in the night.

my fofo has been in ford service center for more than one month and until now it is not able to resolve.

The story begin in early May. I can't start my car and though it is battery failure and sent to ford service center for car battery replacement. But, later on, I found my car was difficult to start the engine 2 days after new battery replacement.

The failure to start the engine getting serious. Sometime, I can start the car engine by one press on push start button. But most of the time, I spent at least 15 minutes or more than a hour to keep on pressing the push start button to start the car engine. Log the complaint to ford service center and the feedback is problem on ABS sensor. No stock on ABS sensor and ask me to drive the car temporary as it is until the ABS sensors are available. Make lot of noise in service center and they can't help much since Ford PJ HQ is damn slow in response.

Ask for courtesy car for temporary until my car is fix. The service center unable to fulfill and not even want to help too. After shouting on Ford customer careline several time, finally receive courtesy car Hyundi i10 on 4 June until today.

On part replacement, in the beginning the service center claimed it is ABS sensor failure, but later on informed that changing ABS sensor will cause problem on immobilizer. Immobilizer stock in Thailand, and it took 2 weeks to arrive Malaysia from Thailand. Cant believe that kind of bad service from Ford Malaysia.

Finally the immobilizer is arrived and installed yesterday morning. Bang! the car engine still fail to start. Until now, everyone is clueless and no idea to proceed on my car.

In fact, I love FoFo on its driving dynamic but with this kind of service from ford Malaysia, I wont recommend Ford car to anyone. Before this breakdown, I plan to replace FoFo by this year end with new Ford Everest. Now, I will switch to other car model.

Beside of all the bad thing in ford service, only one good point for ford customer careline, The lady Ms Alza that attend to my case, is very prompt on her response and assist. For others involved in my case, you are fail and suck on your service.

When did you buy your car? Sime Darby's service is below average, especially when it comes to troubleshooting problems. It is not only for Ford but other brands with complicated electronics as well.

So it is not the ABS sensor, and not the immobilizer after they had replaced the latter. Does that mean the guys at the SC are still doing "experiment" on your car to find out what exactly is the problem?

If you want trouble-free, the only brands to go are the 3 reliable Japanese - Toyota, Honda and Nissan. If continental, the top 2 brands BMW and Mercedes. Even Audi and VW are not free from problems like what you are encountering right now with the Focus.

Bought in on Jan 2012.
before face some issue on clutch replacement, and failure on parking sensor, all this problem took a week for repair, but it is still in my acceptance limit.
But this latest issue, my tolerance is gone.

As the service center and careline feedback, nobody know how to proceed now, the car is parked outside on the roadside and waiting for technical center feedback.

I reread your thread. Pushing the start button for 15 minutes to start the car? It is unacceptable by any means!

Yes, keep on pressing the push start button until get the car started, 5, 10, 15 , 30 minutes or even more.
I'm being a laughing stock every morning when try to start my car in my neighborhood area.
When complaining to service center, they never took it seriously.
Until one Monday, I called service center that I will tow my car to their center as I don't want to start my car under the hot sun.
They though I'm crazy on complaining without real problem.
But, when the car is tow to the center, and the service advisor also cant start my car more than 1/2 hour, by then, only they realize how bad my car is and how true my patient is diminished by their service.

Since this incident, plan to switch my next car to Nissan X-trail, Mazda CX-5 or New Kia Sorento 2015.

No more Ford for me until the service is improved.
But, definitely I will miss the driving dynamic and Sync system in Ford car.

no sure if this the problem, once i was told a cable under the hood have design flaw and touching sharp edge of the engine, after sometime it'll damage the cable causing all sort of electronic errors, no harm try a look at it..

finally my FoFo is back after 1.5 month in the service center.
Just to recall my case, my FoFo can't start the engine even with new battery replacement. initially replaced ABS sensor and immobilizer but still fail to start my car engine. and finally detected the culprit, Transmission Control Module (TCM). after replaced with new TCM, everything looks ok now.

Anyone here facing power window problem.

My passenger side power window goes up and down inch by inch. Sometime doesn't work.

SC PJ2 said is faulty regulator. Costs RM1000++ to change.

Got cheaper option? OEM?
*
Hi all focus mk3 owners, if your car has this kind of power window failure issue, please claim it within 3 years warranty for free replacement on faulty regulator. Otherwise, you need to pay around RM1200 at ford sc. both my and my friend's focus mk3 encounter this issue near the end of 3 year warranty.

Please take note the five year warranty only cover free replacement of power window motor, but not the regulator.

Hi all, i've intermittent battery drained out problem on my ford focus mk3 (2012) since last year. The problem started last year i have to do jump start every morning after the car parked overnight. the problem resolved after Ford authorised dealer detected the issue and do reprogramming, and replace one new battery. Unfortunately, after 6 months driving without any issue, lately the car battery drained out again after parked overnight. Get back to same Ford authorised dealer, and was told TPM failure, and need to replace with RM4k+ charges. I'm currently curious whether it's worth to change at Ford authorised dealer, or any outside workshop can solve this issue? i'm concerned TPM might not be the real issue, and it will hunt me again in later months. Wonder anyone face this issue before, or get the TPM replaced at what cost? Thanks.

do you manage to solved your battery issue

Happened to me 3 months after I collect my car in 2012
Towed car back to Ford PJ, replace the battery for free, I googling around its a famous problem outside Malaysia, and that second battery lasted until 2018
Google 2012 Ford Focus parasitic battery drain

I found out that my aircon & dashboard LED lights didn't auto off after I closed and lock the door,, should be OFF after few seconds we lock our car
become a habit of mine until today even after selling my FoFo, to check all my internal car lights
that dashboard lights if its ON, very difficult to notice especially during day, and this will definitely draining your battery over time

Wait for 2 months to get my car fixed. 2 issues caused my battery drained everyday. 1st is PCM, and another Keyless entry. Due to the cost damage, i just go for PCM replacement, and deactivate keyless entry. Previously my car already have difficulties using keyless entry, on-off intermitten must use remote key to open my car door.

Hi, may I know if PCM replacement solved your problem? I also encountered engine light on, and told that it's related to PCM.

My car issue is solved after PCM replacement. But after few months, my car can’t detect car key, and was found BCM kaput. Another round to SC for BCM replacement. tired with all this problem. And I plan to trade off once get back the car from SC.
