How do you know after tint, your window will be JPJ compliant? The tint itself might be JPJ compliant, but if after add with our stock window's VLT it breaks the JPJ rules, will the tint company covers it?
Is there any way to measure our stock window's VLT? So that I can decide which product to choose to tint. |

Hi guys, need to ask a quick question according to new tinting rules.
Anyone that owns a 2004 type Harrier/Lexus that comes with black rear windows and rear windscreen? Any idea what is the VLT like? Previously tinted with Vkool elite for whole car including the rears, not sure if I need to go jail 6 months if that fails. Any dealers got information on the VLT of the rears black window or better if Black window + Vkool ELite combined. Thank you. |

QUOTE(garrick86 @ Feb 24 2016, 01:59 PM) Hi guys, need to ask a quick question according to new tinting rules. Hi bro, Anyone that owns a 2004 type Harrier/Lexus that comes with black rear windows and rear windscreen? Any idea what is the VLT like? Previously tinted with Vkool elite for whole car including the rears, not sure if I need to go jail 6 months if that fails. Any dealers got information on the VLT of the rears black window or better if Black window + Vkool ELite combined. Thank you. The VLT of the black window is roughly about VLT 15%-20% if not mistaken. If your car passenger and rear window are originally black colour, JPJ won't kacau you one. It will be better if black window + Vkool Elite combined. In Solar energy contribution, Infra-Red (54%), UV (3%) and Visible Light (43%). Window film can reduce heat on IRR, VLT and UVR, if plus black window (Lower VLT), it definitely can provide the best heat resistance. Thanks bro This post has been edited by Lord Gitsy: Feb 25 2016, 12:40 AM |

Previously tinted with Vkool elite for whole car including the rears, not sure if I need to go jail 6 months if that fails. Any dealers got information on the VLT of the rears black window or better if Black window + Vkool ELite combined. Thank you. If it combined with VKool Elite, the percentage is around 10-15% VLT because VK Elite have very high VLT. If the officer stop you, just tell them the car originally fitted with dark glass. |

Hi all, just want to share my experience and honest review on Raytech Window Tint which I installed recently. This is a quite long post so brace yourself.
I went to install raytech tint on my Mazda CX5 last Sunday, 21 Feb 2016 at Temerloh Pahang Branch. This is newly opened branch (just 2-3 months old), so I really have no idea how their workmanship is, but I've got no choice since I am currently staying in Temerloh. Prior to installing the tint, I have discussed with the branch staff on the price quotation and specs, plus a big assistance from Lord Gitsy himself. Below is the spec that I installed: FWS: Raytech Ultra 70 All side windows: Raytech RX Series (security film) RWS: Raytech RC series (Solar Tint) As you can see, all of the tint is premium series from Raytech. I was told by Lord Gitsy that the price quoted by the branch was very good deal already. As I don't really have any price reference to the above specs for SUV sized cars, I really cannot tell if the price is good or not; however I do noted that it is way below the price displayed on Raytech tint booklet. Anyway, I come to the shop at 6PM, and the job finished by 9.30PM. They have to tear my original stock Mazda Konica Minolta Skytint before installing Raytech tint. Below is my review: Workmanship: Workmanship was generally acceptable, I can see minor bubbles (1-2 on each window), and some smudges on the windows as well which I cannot clean ( probably chemicals/glue they used to install the tint). I was told by Lord Gitsy to let the tint cure for 1-2 weeks under hot sun, so I'll do that and see whether it will make any difference. He also assured me that I can come back to Raytech if the problem persists. The only blot during installation is, a portion on one of my demister line (around 1-2 cm) got peel off when they remove the old tint, I can see it visually. I haven't tested the demister yet (tint still under curing process). I hope it is not too bad, I can accept if only that one demister line is not working, and the rest is still good. We'll see later. One other thing, I actually wanted to install darker tint on all rear windows (Raytech has RX Black and RC Black series, which has VLT of 38%), however the Temerloh branch did not have this tint film in stock. I was a little disappointed with that. Tint Performance: I went for a course in KL from Monday to Thursday, and my car was parked under scorching sun from 7AM to 5PM, so it was good condition to test the tint performance. When I enter my car, I noticed it was hot inside, but it was not as hot as before. I also understand, I parked my car for 10 hours under 36-40deg Celsius condition, so of course any car will get hot. However, once I started my air cond, it take less than 3 minutes for my inside car temp to cool down to an acceptable level. After driving a while, I did not feel warm at all, and even when I put my hand on direct sunlight on either my dashboard or my jeans, I didn't feel the heat. This is very important to me because with the old tint previously, me and my wife noticed that the spot which was hit with direct sunlight was very warm. Now, that problem is solved. Overall, I'm very happy with Raytech heat rejection performance. GPS/Smart Tag friendliness: So far, I have no issues with GPS and Smart Tag. All function perfectly. I am using the new smart tag though (the small/slim one) Verdict: Recommended. Apart from the demister line issue and the branch not having the darker tint version, I am very satisfied with the window tint performance. I'm happy too with Lord Gitsy who has been very kind and professional in giving advice and assisting me in getting a good deal for the tint (I hope so hehe). Disclaimer: 1. I am not paid nor requested by Raytech/Lord Gitsy to write this review. I merely take my time to write this review as to share my own experience and help forumers who wish to install Raytech tint, or undecided on which Tint they should go for. Also, this review is also as a thank you gesture to Lord Gitsy, who has been kind enough to assist me with the installation. 2. I have never installed other premium brand window tint, thus I have no reference to compare with. My review above is strictly based on my own observation/experience. Other brand maybe as good or even better than Raytech. |

Hi guys,
As some of you has already PM me for the price quotation that I got for the Raytech tint, I just want to put some disclaimer: 1. Price is different for each Raytech branch. Do not compare my price with your quotation. Nego yourself first with the branch, and contact Lord Gitsy for advice on the price, whether reasonable or not. Then lock the deal/find another branch. 2. Do not install the tint if they offer you the retail price. 3. To remember that Raytech Temerloh Branch that I went was newly opened, the price that I got is probably promo price to attract customers. 4. Always install tint within your acceptable budget. Thanks for the advices guys, not sure if I should stick to the original dark window an windscreen.
Hopefully they will demand to change dark glass instead of penalty during roadblocks. If anyone else have any experience on the matter with JPJ/PDRM please advice here too. |

U can get a decent one for at lowest RM1.5k. Usually it'll be between RM1.5k-2.2k.RM3-4k is for top of the line security tint, I think |
