Hi, can anyone recommend any affordable solar tint with high IRR that is JPJ compliant for my old perdana?

Car resell value is around RM 5000 thus not looking for expensive tint or security.

Looking at around RM300 to RM 600 maximum including removal of old tint.

Need IRR more than 80%

Having used Llumar Diamond 6 on my 3 previous & 1 existing cars, I had installed 3M on my new ride which I just collected on Saturday. And since my car is parked out in the sun during office hours, I can safely say that 3M has better heat rejection when compared to Llumar D6. Selected the Nano 70S for all my sides and 40S for the rear windscreen. Have to check again my front, can't recall now.

Thank you so much for your advise bro, by looking at the spec I was nearly convinced to use Diamond 6.

Now much easier and left with 3M Vkool and Raytech (might not consider due to hard to get prices unless anyone who had experience with them could comment with it)

Can anyone please confirm if the below SHGC value for the brands if calculated correctly from SC:

RAYTECH
Ultra 70 - 0.50 x 0.87 = 0.435 TSER: 62%
Centurion RX - 0.48 x 0.87 = 0.4176 TSER: 62%
Raytech QX - 0.52 x 0.87 = 0.4524 TSER: 58%

V-Kool
VKOOL ELITE - 0.5 x 0.87 = 0.435 TSER: 55%
VKOOL 55 - 0.48 x 0.87 = 0.4176
VKOOL 40 - 0.42 x 0.87 = 0.3654

3M
CR70 - 0.5 x 0.87 = 0.435 TSER: 50%
Nano70s - 0.5 x 0.87 = 0.435 TSER: 50%
Nano40s - 0.4 x 0.87 = 0.348 TSER: 60%

Can anyone explain why value like:

Nano70s TSER: 50%< Nano40s TSER: 60%

Raytech RX TSER: 62%< QX TSER: 58%

Should I opt for high TSER or high SHGC? rclxub.gif

Here is my personal experience after researching window film for my new car for months.

I finally got tinted with Raytech Cheras.

Spec: Ultra 70 for FWS and RX 6mil for the rest

Review:

Raytech Cheras customer representative was very friendly and helpful on explaining and demo. The tinting was done in about 2 hours. Towel was used and no shoe or dirt marks on my light beige color leather as instructed to be very cautious.

I followed the instruction post-tinting and waited 2 weeks to see if there are any defects or dust. Meanwhile I am relieved that the heat resistance is superb and as advertised and you would feel only a little under the sunlight.

However there was few issue regarding dusts and on my FWS and Side window, I arranged my appointment for the warranty and get back to retint.

They are very helpful in identifying the dust and helped me to retint the windows to perfection without any further questioning or denying, I have got to compliment them for the good responsibility and professionalism. They have retinted 2 times on the same window to perfection with no dust at all.
Only one small thing is that when they retint my left rear window there was no towel used but luckily my power windows and indoor ambient led light still working.

My driver side window still got some dusts and will return to retint after my car coating is done.

SMART TAG:
First time 10/10 (No issue at all, pass through with 100% so far with low speed and placed on dashboard)

ELECTRIC GATE: 10/10 (No issue at all, the 434 remote signal can send from 20m away)

HEAT REJECTION : 9/10 (At par with Vkool Elite on my other car, only a little heat under the sun)

WORKMANSHIP:

First time 6/10 (Dusts spotted at all panels including RWS, maybe due to busy/peak hours and the lack of towel on my rear window)
Retint Waranty 10/10 all perfect with no dust or imperfections

RESPONSIBILITY: 10/10 (Retint to perfection without hesitation)

CREDIBILITY: 10/10 (So far)

Overall I would recommend Raytech for the good heat rejection of RX (98% IRR), credibility and responsibility of the workers.

*Will continue to update in the future and share my experiences/reviews on this tinting job after months or years.

So the Raytech Ultra 70 and RX 6 mil tint  is on par with VKool Elite in terms of heat rejection? Impressive. In my experience, the Vkool Elite has good heat rejection, the best I have tried so far. Not that I have tried many tints but the VKool Elite is definitely better than the Huper Optik Sech60 and C40 in terms of heat rejection.
*
You are absolutely correct, V-kool Elite so far i think is the one with best heat rejection with smarttag friendly feature.
My Vkool Elite still very comfortable and little or no reduction in heat rejection after 7 years.
I opt for the Raytech only for the securty features.
Raytech performance still under testing and will update after months/years in case if the heat rejection drops.

I would have opt for the 3M Crystalline 70 if theirs is smart tag friendly. I think their specification is quite true and not over-rated. Only that you have to trade the good IRR with Smarttag, see which one you prefer.

Judging from the Smart tag friendliness I think you would know how "real" the IRR heat rejection as advertised.

There are just too much tinting company/house brand with OVERRATED specification such as 95% IRR & more than 50% TSER which is more "HEBAT"than big brand such as 3M and Vkool with cheaper price. Once you pass through SMartTAG without slowing down as if there are no tinting, scorching skin under the sun, you will know how it is like.

Nowadays, every time I enter my car and I feel the immense heat burning my face, I will think of Vkool. Well, if you don't try the tint you won't know, in my case choosing the Huper OPtik based on goo reviews here on the forum. Turned out to be a bad choice. No more Huper Optik for me next time.

Good to hear the raytech's performance in heat rejection is good.
*
Sorry to hear that, but sometimes buying tinting is more to trial and error type.

Unless you have few cars or few friends that willing to try all the type of tinting to find out the good ones.

For that I am lucky to have few friends from different brands to try all the type. thumbup.gif

Hi garrick86,

Can you share your experience with me of all those brands you and your friends have tried, which one is the best follow by second and third...Wish to have some knowledge.

If not, PM me the brands and model of tint from 1st to last in rankings to me....

Thanks

No worries, i dont mind sharing it here but will try my best not to offend anyone.

First I tried few times with the Groupon tinting offers RM 160+ to RM 499 type, from 60% IRR to 99%IRR as they claimed. Well, it is better than without tinting at all, but the specifications are not as advertised I afraid. You can feel the difference by comparing those with big brand similar IRR item. Some big brand 65% IRR is better than those 95% IRR security from groupon.

Tried Agxxx, it is better than those groupon one but inferior to the big brands.

V-Kool Elite on my 7-year-old car and the heat rejection still performing well and I dont need to retint. Only bad thing is one of the window started peeling. Overall definitely worth it for 7 years.

Just tried Raytech U70 and RX 6mil, so far feels the same with the V-Kool Elite but of course heat rejection slightly lower. Probably due to Solar film vs Security Film, need to sacrifice some heat rejection to security but so far quite okay.

Lxxxx tint on my friends car, Pal. Titan. series all heat rejection not as good as compare to the VK Elite and RX6mil.

3M havent got the chance but soon after my friend going to tint it with Crystalline 70 and Nano70s.

If V-Kool drop their price, people will install on their cars. tongue.gif
Currently it is too expensive. That is why people go for other brands that are cheaper.

Haha my thoughts exactly. Perhaps better discount for ex-Vkool clients. thumbup.gif

Bro,
How much roughly do you paid for the Raytech tint??
I just need a ballpark figure as a guidance.
Last time I used Ecotint Raybarrier for my FD and even after 6 years I am truly satisfied.
What happen to Ecotint? Nobody mention them here.

The branch is pushing for SunFighter tint.. They have it on their demo car. The colour shades is nice..
They are offering me RM 1300 for a 4mill security tint. TSER is claimed at 50+% (Cant remember exactly).
Anyone tried this brand? Forget to ask the warranty

Thanks
*
RM 3k+ for the top spec bro but it depends on your car size too.

Hi guys, need to ask a quick question according to new tinting rules.

Anyone that owns a 2004 type Harrier/Lexus that comes with black rear windows and rear windscreen? Any idea what is the VLT like?

Previously tinted with Vkool elite for whole car including the rears, not sure if I need to go jail 6 months if that fails.

Any dealers got information on the VLT of the rears black window or better if Black window + Vkool ELite combined.

Thank you. smile.gif

Thanks for the advices guys, not sure if I should stick to the original dark window an windscreen.

Hopefully they will demand to change dark glass instead of penalty during roadblocks.

If anyone else have any experience on the matter with JPJ/PDRM please advice here too.

Hi guys, I am using Raytech U70 for FWS.

All tolls are okay for me other than the KESAS Kewajipan/Summit part.

The mentioned TOLL i have stucked many times and tried many different method, put on top windscreen stick to glass and less than 5km/h, all didnt work.

The only way is to wind down window and flash to the reader or touch & go when prompted. This is very bad experience and get horned and get middle finger.

Can anyone else tell me if you have issue with the toll when using Raytech U70 or Vkool or other brands with the KESAS tolls?
