have you actually grad? Cause your putting part 1 and 2 is confusing me as if you haven't finish the whole degree how could you consider yourself fresh grad?

My previous company (local chinaman) was paying >5k (including bonus) for fresh grads to sit in office and write reports. Don't let those gen x influence us.

Before saying anything, I know I did the wrong move. At first, I only decided to enter this firm as my friend recommended his father's firm. Thus, thinking that I already had a secure job position, I didn't apply to other firms. However, on my first day of job, I just realized the firm treated me as an intern, not a full time employee. I'm not looking for internship, cause I am a full degree graduated student.

For architects out there, is it normal or do I need to find somewhere else? RM1.5k (allowance not salary!) is a joke for a degree graduate. Even sales assistant at cyber cafe downstairs below of my office can earn more for just SPM qualification. The problem is I will be continuing my Part 2 studies within a year, so seeking a full time job for just 7-8 months doesn't sound plausible.

10 years ago 2.5k is big mnc fresh grad payout, but there were thousand of candidates fighting for a post. Average fresh grad salary was 1.6-2k only for business stream grad.

In fact 10 years ago maybe got 30k fresh grad came out society but now each year produce probably 100k fresh grad a year. And now there are more and more companies collapsed even the so called best paid out industry like oil and gas get serious impact due to global crude oil price drop tremendously. Shxll is considering move out most of function and will slash their employee numbers. MNC IT companies in msia almost every year have layout due to high operating cost and market slow issue (I spent 6 years in this industry).

No offense but I am talking about majority of gen Y are different. Many of them are demand for high pay, low workload, unable stand for stress, express their thought freely to their leader without second thought. A real case happened to my customer, he got the a staff age 20+ said can't work till 8pm because his mum will worry about him work late and without experience asking for 2.5k.

Coz u gen x made it stay late at office is a good habit. Please la to me if u stay back mean u are inefficient, slow. Wait till u get kid, hope he get 2k too for starting in future.

It is true that there are some bad seeds among the Gen X for staying late. I myself a Gen X did not and will not stay back for work just to impress my boss. And it is true that if you stay back meaning you are inefficient during working hours. If is few times per year thing then of course is understandable as sometimes there are some rushing projects to be handle.

Constantly staying back late just to impress your boss? Sounds like lickaboots to me.

Sorry to say. Its not about gen y being a lazy asshole. But they know what is their right, u can choose to be stayback late, didnt ask much salary, but dont blame when other people asking for what they want.

I know most of the boss and senior workers today are gen X, thats why keep comparing today salary with ur farking 10years old starting salary. Seriously when the younger gen ask for a 2.5k u said oh, i backthen work for 2k with 10 hours didnt even complain. U didn't complain its your choice. U choose to work for free OT, longer period. Dont blame other when they back ontime. Its their choice. Yet keep blabbering about backthen story.

Sorry to rant here. But its the truth. I wonder how ur kid will survive next 10 years if the starting salary never change. We want a better future for younger gen, doesnt mean that if u get through a hard time in work u want ur children bear the same.

Last mth I just conduct Interview with a candidate
She requested RM2.5k as starting salary w/o xperience
Reason given was cost of living is very High

It's a small company bro. So far what I see big companies at least 3k for fresh grads already. My company is giving 3k base for fresh grads ans that have not include allowances and claims. I'm just glad I managed to enter this company when I graduated instead of those small companies that exploit fresh grads lol.

Which is true and I actually have the same mindset as you do. But every now and then there will be some sh1tty people from either Gen X or Gen Y to tarnish their generations.
