What's up everyone.
I have been in a dilemma for the past few days thinking over if I should accept a job offer I received last week. Long story short, I am currently holding a Senior Administrator post and getting paid about RM4.3k in basic salary plus RM500 of shift allowance where I work from 2PM to 11PM. High prospect of promotion to Supervisor within the next half year. New job offer, RM5,100 basic pay for the position of Assistant Manager. Good thing is I will no longer have to work shift. But raise is not much of an increase compared to what I'm getting now, which responsibilities are far greater. Having talked to everyone, I wanna now seek advise from you bros. What do you guys think? Would you take the offer? |

QUOTE(sinned.dennis @ Aug 24 2015, 01:59 AM) What's up everyone. I personally will not go for it. Is the current job environment, colleagues, superior is something that you are comfortable with? And with the "high prospect" of promotion, don't see that move would be a wise one. As for the shift, that might be something you want to consider. But if you are still in your 20s, I say that's not really a big deal. I have been in a dilemma for the past few days thinking over if I should accept a job offer I received last week. What do you guys think? Would you take the offer? A very big pros on the new job offer is the title; AM. That can give yourself a huge boost when you seek for other jobs in future due to managerial role. But it is still up to you to decide whether to current company can offer similar title/role to you in your next promotion. I say stick to current and boost yourself in terms of self-development and training. This post has been edited by Belphegor: Aug 24 2015, 12:36 PM |

QUOTE(sinned.dennis @ Aug 24 2015, 01:59 AM) What's up everyone. If you are comfortable with your current job, I would say is not worth moving to a new company for just RM300 increment. Is not easy as you need to adapt into new environment, as in get to know new colleagues, learn things in the company. Not to mentioned, you work shift starts at 2PM, hence you might have less stress cause no need to stuck in the jam with everyone. I have been in a dilemma for the past few days thinking over if I should accept a job offer I received last week. When a company is interested to employ you, they wouldn't consider offering so low unless you are desperate to look for job opportunity or career growth. |

QUOTE(Polar @ Aug 24 2015, 02:36 PM) Job Desciption : Strategy Dept mid-mgmt Hi Polar,Years spent in company : just joined Company : MNC Experience before joining : 6 years in a Big 4 Highest paper qualification/ education background : Degree + ACCA salary : RM10,000 basic Location: KL Wondering if 10k with 6 years of experience is in the average scale? I know it's not high... hoping it's not on the lower end too Instead of answering your question, I am here to seek your advice. I'm studying Accounting And Finance, will do ACCA after finishing my last exam for my degree next year May/June. In the meantime, I am working on internship for account for a servicing company (doesn't learn much). Starting from 1st of Sept, I will be joining PWC for another internship for Corporate Tax. I would want to join assurance department(it's full) but learning tax would be an advantage too one day so I accept the offer. I plan to join assurance after completing my degree, I'm not sure whether they will want me to stay in tax team because I might specialise for that moment. Can you share me about your experience with your big 4 employer and give some advice to me regarding my planning for the coming years? PS: My degree is an International programme (exam once a year, no need to do assignments or presentations), I can opt for self-study or take classes in a college/university. I have been with a college for 2 years, now it's my last year and I choose to self-study + real life practice of accounting + finance. |
