Please advice. Am I being paid a fair wager?

I have been spending a few days looking on this thread; I have not been doing much lately. And I want to let you guys know that mouth has stayed open in astonishment for some time.

I thought GDP per capita in Malaysia is USD10.5K per annum and average salary in KL is RM8716 according to salaryexplorer

I have always thought I am doing OK till I read how much everyone is making.

I have decided that I am not making enough!

p.s. Damn jealous but then I realised horr, that I actually hate myself.

Last mth I just conduct Interview with a candidate
She requested RM2.5k as starting salary w/o xperience
Reason given was cost of living is very High 

with the situation now...
i dont think grads can survive with 2.5k...
unless living with mummy..

i started back in 2007 with RM3k for my first job...
then move to Rm2.4k with commission (usually RM3k+) several months later...

if in 2015, you are still offered 2.5k... honestly...
EVERYONE needs to ask for more as living cost have increased exponentially...
else you'll forever be exploited...

also if you finish your task... leave on time! staying late... only asians do it...
don be scared... let results speak for itself...

i ONLY stay late when there is a need... i.e Emergency (did a midnight rotation a few times), on call, critical...
if daily task, i leave on time... also my time is flexible....

my company offer fresh grad around 3k like that lo..ur range for so so ? lol

same oh..mine also product manufacturing.
my company increment also so so only lol.
but ur AGM 12 yr 7k ???!! lol Assistant GM o ? 7k sgd is it.
if 7k MYR pity d lol.
but i heard some other who went until product manager ..also around 10k only

I'm interested in knowing too, especially for RnD engineers working in huge MNC company. My increment was huge (previous company is Japanese company  ) after jumping to my current company, but it seems like the salary is still consider low compared to other field.

Not strictly referring to RnD company, but those company that have both manufacturing line and RnD firm (can be together or separated).

I know Japanese MNC provides very low salary, but how about those American/European MNC though? (WD, Freescale, Intel, Altera etc...) Whats their standard for fresh?
