I don't know either Celcom coverage has some disturbance or my sim card reader the one has problem. My phone don't have a coverage at all. Emergency calls only. Anyone facing the same problem with me? Or maybe it's just Celcom fault?

Missed mine too. I've chat online with HTC support, it appeared that my unit is already fixed and they're sending back to me, should be arriving today or tomorrow.

The flow:
Last tuesday collected, last wednesday arrived Kelana SC, under assessment until last friday; This monday under repaired and this wednesday done and sent out.

That's kinda quick and out of my expectation thumbup.gif but we'll see if it's back to me in these few days whistling.gif

Probably your sim module is damaged. Have encountered such issue before on my previous Note where it works with all local telco ( maxis, digit, u mobile) except only Celcom. Try with another digi card to confirm is not simcard issue

Got my HTC One silver during the HTC One X trade in program last month.

Overall good experience using the phone.

However, the aluminum body heats up very quickly during heavy usage ie... gaming, video, GPS...

Everyone here has the same experience?

Collected mine from the service centre today. Overall quite satisfied with the service. The phone came back exactly the same. But the waiting time was kinda bad. Hope they can allocate more counter.

They have your imei number in their system. Don't even need to show them the warranty card or anything. I had my HTC one camera replaced within 4 working days. Quite fast and efficient though.

I still don't know whether it is my simcard or not, it might be my simcard 'coz when I'm using other simcard yesterday, it doesn't 'behave' like this.

If I push that simcard tray deeper, the simcard can't be read. I hope its not the simcard reader defect.

So far so good, heated up my phone to 42 Celsius, start up camera, looking fine in total black condition.

But one weird things I noticed, when the camera in total black screen, a tiny blue pixel light up. However, the blue pixel is gone in the shot photo.

Hey guys, quick question:

When you sent in your phone to get the camera fixed, do they reset your phone and cleans out everything inside? Or you can leave everything inside and give it to them, then all comes back intact? hmm.gif

if you already enable google backup and restore feature on your phone.. everytime you rest your phone...

google will automatically restore/download all your apps to your phone from the google play store. no need to install apps individually.

In my case, they did ask me if I wanted to keep my data. I'm fully prepared against wiping out my data, but since they offered me this, I told them it would be best if the device came back in the original state. The staff (her name is BB I think) then jot down a note to not restore my phone on the repair document. I think you can always ask them not to restore the phone if it doesn't involve tinkering with the logic board or stuff. Changing the camera module won't wipe out your data.

OK I almost bought the HTC One but I think I'll be going for the Nexus 5 instead for my upgrade from my current iPhone 4. It's more powerful and much cheaper, runs the latest stock Android, has a screen to match. It loses out to the One in looks (although from pictures its minimalistic design is not shabby at all), storage, and obviously sound quality. But if I can get my friend to bring it back from the UK at RM 1,300+ then it's an absolute bargain. Even if the price goes up to RM 1,600, I think I'll be choosing the NExus 5 still.

It's funny because just two or three weeks ago I was contemplating between the HTC One, Xperia Z1 and the iPhone 5S. Three days ago I was all set getting a One, and then the Nexus 5 just appears and suddenly with its price everything else seems ridiculous. the 5S is TWICE as expensive. Crazy.

Same prob as yours.
Guys, is there any nice apps to check forum? I can't seem to find lowyat in tapatalk.

Thanks for your sharing. I have cinesensor 2013-09-25 as well. Looks like it having problem with this batch of camera module, although no purple tint but introduced pink spot issue that used to be very famous in SGS2 2 yrs ago.

Now Samsung S3 and S4 don't have such problem. I just cant believe HTC still provide low quality camera module sad.gif

With all these pink spot problems is it wise to just hang on till they have solved both then only claim warranty for the purple tint issue?
*
I agreed with you. I think better don't send in now since it has pink spot problem with 2013-09-25 batch of camera module.

Fixed purple tint but giving pink spot problem.

I have sent mine to them to fix pink spot problem. I will update you if they manage to fix it.

I also hope the 4.3 or 4.4 will fix the pink spot but not sure when it will release to us sad.gif

*
why would u get from UK when the LTE band doesn't work here...
despite the price difference, i rather get a local set...

2. The uk unit has the same LTE band as Malaysia. From what I read anyway.

If you unlock BL through htcdev even with lock back it will show as relocked in fastboot mode. Secondly your phone imei info is captured in htc servers. So pointless to even lock it back n unroot.
If you have done it through soff than is OK

If your phone has BL unlock or rooted, the tech will first check its status by booting into fastboot mode. If you have done all these through SOFF - you are safe after you have unroot it. If you have done through HTCDev , there is no point even to unroot, lock back BL etc as said earlier on

Hmm. I'm not sure if I was lucky or anything. Mine was unlocked using htcdev. I s-offed using revone and removed tampered flag. S-on back and locked bootloader (not relock) and flashed the official ruu. If they wanted to void my warranty by saying I unlocked bootloader using htcdev they didn't do so.

That is because you fastboot mode showed locked and not relocked and I believe the tech was plain too lazy to check whether you have unlock BL previously through HTCDev
Anyway there are several cases reported at Butterfly, HOX thread where warranty is still honoured even with BL unlock and clearly shown in fastbooot mode. All this depends on service center discretion
I have successfully change mother board FOC once even with BL unlock ( GPS chip failure ) and another case where I need to pay RM700 to change motherboard for HTC One with BL unlock

Request for a new replacement set?
As far as I know(personal experience), they will only order the number of sets sent in for request.
In other words, they do not have any stock.

Got my HTC One replacement set from Seng Heng after 2.5 months of sending for repair. This one the camera is totally black when you put your finger on it or lay it on the table. So pretty satisfied with it. Although it did took me from 18 August 2013 ==> 28th September 2013 ===>1st November 2013 to get a brand new replacement set. but Im fine with it.

Sure Hope you guys have shorter wait time than me. I am in Kuching and the phone got send back twice. I guess after the second time they just dont want to open it up anymore.

purple tint and pink spot are 2 different issue.

I sent first time and purple tint problem fixed. To detect purple pint, just put the phone on the flat table then turn on the camera. You should get entire black screen for few mins. If you see purple, then bad.

Pink spot is different, when they returned to me after camera module replaced, I captured the photo in low light and noticed the pink color in the middle. You will notice it when face to white area (low light) either white wall or paper. This is very famous problem in SGS2 2 yrs ago. With few folks share in this forum, cinesensor 2013-09-25 having pink spot problem. I have sent 2nd time and I hope they will replace with latest camera module perhaps October batch.
I don't want to see pink spot anymore.

Well, I really disappointed with HTC. They fixed the purple tint, and bring me the legacy pink spot issue. What can I say? sad.gif

First time sent 8th October - They returned back to me on 24th October thru courier.

2nd time sent 29th October

Well, at the moment, no one can confirm BTS or KJ can fix the pink spot problem.

I suggest we don't send to them first until some one come and tell us "YES, now they can fix purple tint and pink spot at the same time!". Otherwise it will waste your time to resend 2 times. Or you may have to wait for long time to fix both issue.

Nope I don't think they'll rectify the pink spot issue. I think all HTC One has the pink spot. At least my photo is no longer purplish in low light. Btw any of you guys experience slow camera when taking Picture in low light?

btw, does pink spot issue really bugging when taking picture like? like it really affect the pic?

are they inform you when they shipped out your phone back to you?

Well, when HTC hard sell the ONE, they told us can take photo in low light and this is something really we paid for that. Yes, I seldom take photo in low light, but I just cannot accept this defect while Samsung has already get it fixed in S3 and S4.

They don't tell me about date they will return. I never believe HTC Operator. The first time when I sent they told me 4-6 days. But end up 2-3 weeks. Consider very lucky enough.

I don't mind they spend even 3-4 weeks, as long as they can get everything fixed, I am fine. Currently I borrow very old phone Nokia to use and get used to it already without smart phone cool2.gif

Yeah, one of the ONE selling point are great photo in low light situation with all ultrapixel stuffs. But it turn on as weakest point of the phone. I think HTC can fix this problem if they really serious and strict in QC and after sales service.

I hope it will never too long for me to wait for my phone to get fixed. Just pray.

now my device rejected by kelana jaya sc, do you guys think bts sc will know my device unlock bootloader too and reject again ? I heard some people still can claim the warranty even though bootloader unlock from bts sc.

just now the receptionist told me last week they won the tribunal case due to user unlock bootloader. quite interesting now, it seems their upper management told their stuff if we file tribunal case sure will lose due to unlock bootloader.

I got it repaired in Kelana SC with my unlocked bootloader and tempered, still S-On though if it's matter.
But I flashed stock recovery and stock rom, factory reset it before sending it in.

What reason they reject your device? what reason given?

Sure they will win the tribunal if your phone unlock and flashed with other ROM.

Oh.. They even has a record in BTS? I thought last time you sent to Kelana Jaya. right?

If warranty void, then no choice. Just wait for 4.3 update and potentially will reduce the purple tint problem with firmware.

They will win. Because they will argue the illegal ROM you flashed into it, allowed you to overclock the device and causing heat problem to your camera module. Or they might say the illegal firmware operate the camera hardware wrongly and spoilt the camera. Many excuses that will not back you up to win the tribunal. sorry to say that.

I not sure too. but kelana jaya sc said I need to replace the motherboard first in order to replace the camera module. Now they want to say what also can.

Imagine how much money and time HTC can save by just putting out a good product. No defect = no customer complaint , no waiting time and no tribunals.

Now they are checking for root to avoid warranty replacement. Really lowball.

No product is perfect in the world okie. So just accept the fact that HTC one is. Very good project with minor defect.

Samsung and apple also have defective phones.

So don't criticise HTC for not doing their best.

Don't forget HTC one won many awards this year. Didn't you know that ?

pardon my rudeness, to be honest, the first time i jump ship from Samsung and i getting disappointed with this kind of problem.

@owentan328, you are so lucky to get a perfect unit not like other and me which got the damn camera problem. U won't understand what we are facing and that's why you are saying like this.

We are paying 2k ++ for a phone dude, we don't expect perfect but the camera tint really a pain in the ass.

Although it winning awards, just the damn camera problem itself many consumer rather buy other brands. If earlier you know the camera tint issue, do you still buy it ?

as you said .. im the lucky one...

maybe you guys are unlucky... no offence...

i do understand your feelings... it happened once before .. but not htc one la ..

as i said before no phones or product are perfect... the purple tint is a small problem...dont forget the ultrapixel is a new technology...

if its a mature technology and it still cause problems.. that is another story ...

do give some time for the ultrapixel technology to mature up....

you are lucky that HTC made a statement that all defective camera modules can be replaced...

eventhough htc is at financial trouble... they still took responsibility replacing all defective phones..

when i first bought my htc one... the purple tint issue hasnt surfaced... i bought the phone before htc made the statement about the issue..

i only can comment what i have with me ... this is my opinion on the htc one ... i got a perfect phone ... so im enjoying the phone...

besides. phone camera wasnt designed to take super good pictures... if you want good quality photos.. suggest you buy a dslr...

with the my perfect htc one... all my friends were blown away by its night shot quality from my phone..

so the only thing i can say (my opinion) is that HTC is awesome.. premium build .. good camera good sound awesome UI

if i want to buy a new phone now .. i will still choose the htc one .. because new batch of htc one comes with the updated batch of camera modules .. which would not cause purple tint issue...

Well I bought the phone on day1 it was out over in Malaysia and saw how the whole issue blew up to date (6 months). I never pursue the issue believing in the whole software fix etc but it is getting frustrating to an unbearable point. I am not asking for DSLR level low-light photo but just a normal decent photo day or night instead of having purple tints all over (yes i have the tint in daylight as well). Do remember, it is marketed as a phone with a good low-light sensor.

I have been a HTC user and this is the first time I am so disappointed. What more I introduced it to 2 of my friends who actually bought it and now suffering the same problem with me now.

i understand how you feel ... paid RM 2k ++ for a premium phone...but look at the other side... people paid the same amount of money to get iphone or samsung s4... in which it is no where near as premium as the htc one...

paid 2k ++ for a plastic phone... how cheap is that ... (samsung galaxy s4)

Why you always think that we the victims are lucky enough because HTC willing to replace defective camera modules?

Again, we have to get the mindset corrected. It is HTC responsibilities to call back and replace all the defective parts. Not a luck matter. If you say " You are lucky because HTC still not bankrupt and can replace camera module for you ". Then this is acceptable.

We are very unlucky already. My HTC One didn't with me for 1 month already. So don't mention that we are lucky.

No offence.

even the replacement module doesn't mean it is fixed.
the problem resurface according to the xda forums and while others here having the purple spot.
this is a big blunder by htc which will surely affect the other partners.

I think it's major defect. As it's one of the main reason people choose HTC One instead of other phones. For me, I bought HTC One mainly because of the design and camera. So it's a pretty big deal. And I heard that Nexus 5 camera is comparable to HTC One in low light condition. I bet some of us will jump to Nexus 5 after reading this post.

some people already won the tribunal. Got back 2.3k and bought Note 3 lol
If it's regarding the camera issue, and you have sent it to SC and it's still have problem, you can win. If you haven't sent it to SC, it's kinda hard as you'll be lacking evidence and reasons to support you.

Right. If the Camera problem never can be fixed like my case.... after purple tint then pink spot. Maybe I can win icon_rolleyes.gif

But for those S-OFF / Unlock bootloader. Not easy to win.

I never unlock the HTC One. I have unlocked HTC Sensation only.

You must make sure everything reset exactly same as original. Including S-ON, original ROM / firmware .. and etc before you send there.

Warranty is void since BL shows relock
You can try your luck claiming warranty

I think it's major defect. As it's one of the main reason people choose HTC One instead of other phones. For me, I bought HTC One mainly because of the design and camera. So it's a pretty big deal. And I heard that Nexus 5 camera is comparable to HTC One in low light condition. I bet some of us will jump to Nexus 5 after reading this post.
*
I totally agree with you. If you don't make camera as selling point, yes I do mind about purple tint and I will close one eye about pink spot problem. But the problem is they make HTC One Camera ultra pixel as selling point. Then it is consider major defect.

Compare features with S4, HTC One cannot beat them. Only the best of HTC one is the quality totally like Iphone 5s, and good feature of camera and Sense. So don't ask me to accept minor defect on camera. that is insane.

imho,i refuse to accept s4 is a better phone than one...s4 lagging too much coz its bloatware.even after i did root & remove the bloatware, nothing better than xperia z or one. Personally, benchmark test just a numbers score by s4 and i agree s4 did beat others with its features but only for whom who are a smartphone first timer.

+1

If u ask me to choose between HTC One and S4. I choose HTC One for the built quality and premium look. Also the software are much better compare to touchwiz..

Of course currently Htc are facing minor setbacks on camera issue. Hope they will resolve quickly. I did sent my HO for camera issue. Got back mg device , purple tint gone and pink spot only appear once in while only.. i can live with that.. Happy with low light camera in HO.. So far good..

Well, at the moment, no one can confirm BTS or KJ can fix the pink spot problem.

I suggest we don't send to them first until some one come and tell us "YES, now they can fix purple tint and pink spot at the same time!". Otherwise it will waste your time to resend 2 times. Or you may have to wait for long time to fix both issue.

one of the notable feature of 4.3 update is TRIM. i'm a NexG user before, 4.2->4.3 with TRIM made the NexG soo much smoother, no lag at all. The update made NexG fly. thumbup.gif

But One is already smooth on 4.2.2. I don't know how high One will fly with 4.3 biggrin.gif

Yep, that's the point. rclxms.gif

For other android phone lost to iphone mainly due to android phone manufacturer pump up the spec but not the final touch on the software, which ultimately don't give the end user the flawless and intuitive experience.

HTC One come very close to that... so close if u can bare with camera thumbup.gif

This is because Apple control both hardware and software. Android base is from Google and they have lots of part so it's not 100% fully optimize for full power. Not to forgot the OEM "skin" too.

Who cares about the benchmark results .. It isn't the real world resitls.

In the real work s4 is so laggy that it didn't won any award this year despite the better spec than the HTC one.

Such a failure to s4 this year

are u in melbourne? cause my phone was working fine when i was there but it started to deteriorate with the hot weather in msia. XDA confirmed that the heat issue is what causing the camera sensor to fail badly with the purple tint which is why a copper wire is added to slow down the decay. those who got their lens fixed had the issue resurfaced after 2-3 months

guess what? the purple tint comes back out when the phone reaches 40degrees lolx... then 1-2 months (1 week for the guy i am quoting below) after lens replacement, the red purple tint problem returns again to quote
Xerro-Five http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...317507&page=338

"Well sadly like so many before me, the same problem is coming back on the new phone which had a perfectly functioning sensor when I first got it after just 1 week. Wow...I can't believe it happened that quickly. It's definitely not as bad as the first one was towards the end before I replaced it but it will, of course, continue to progress to that same level again on this one now that it's started. I've upgraded it to 4.3 and I again see the pitiful "fix" kick in - the noise builds up and then it resets the exposure (mostly ISO) lower, which of course destroys the ability to see much of anything in the resulting low light picture.

Just as before, the issue is created and worsened by heat.

Some examples:
Phone down on table, temp. 40, red noise is back
http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...1&d=1383634539

Right after the first picture, temp. 40, no light source, red noise
http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...1&d=1383634539

Let the phone cool down for a while. Phone down on table again, temp. 22, red noise gone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...1&d=1383634539

Taken right after that in the same spot as before, temp. 22, no noise
http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...1&d=1383634539

After 10min use, temp. 30, light far behind me, red noise is back again
http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...1&d=1383634539

I caught the above picture before the "fix" kicked in. BTW, that's how it SHOULD be performing (but without the red noise) in case there was any confusion, this is supposed to excel in low light...
Now here's the same picture but after the exposure is automatically (completely out of my control) reset
http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...1&d=1383634539

So this is crap. Oh, and yeah, that's right in case you caught it, there's a hot pixel on the sensor to add further insult."

Ironically, the 4.3 update caused the tint to appear for some people. Perhaps this is why they haven't rolled the update out to us?

http://news.softpedia.com/news/HTC-One-s-C...de-387497.shtml

http://www.phonesreview.co.uk/2013/10/22/h...camera-warning/

Anyways, been a month since I replaced my camera module. Still working fine. Fingers crossed. I did notice that it's a lil slow to focus, can't remember if it's originally like that. Although it's focused, it'll refocus another time always.

that's the fear, basically the whole problem will persist and we'll need to keep changing the sensors over and over and over again

It has been mentioned here in this very thread that the camera modules are heat sensitive.

So please don't heat your phone up .... Otherwise you will complain the problem here over and over and over again.

Just got a 5S. My pants pockets love the smaller phone. Still having an S3 for my 2nd number. My HO is sent off to have its eye replaced. See how it goes if it gets repaired well then it will replace the S3. Otherwise... Gonna get rid of it cheap.

I feel the current trend with android phones and larger screens and higher resolutions are getting a bit absurd. Next year look forward to qHD and then qFHD with 500+PPI screens. Meanwhile batteries are not lasting any longer, and the entire package is getting heavier and heavier... At least the 5S doesn't remind me its in my pocket all day long.

Aiyo!!! Have to sell my ONE to get this.

BTW, you have to test your new cinesensor carefully in low light. Check on the middle of the photo. You will see it obvious when turn on video. Let me share one photo to you. Mine also 2013-09-25.

Any rumors so far on the 2014 HTC One?

After deep consideration, me not gonna buy the Nexus 5.
I am able to wait 4 more mths on the next HTC flagship.

*
well said... For me... anything above 500PPI is abit sweat.gif and anything above 5"++ is also too big for a phone... Anyway I'm hoping that Apple would increase their iPhone's screen size. 4.9" is good enough brows.gif

After getting my hands on a IP5 last year and 5S this year, I realize it is nothing much than a longer IP4S. Cannot handle the small screen size any longer having pampered with 4.7"and above screen. To me HTC Butterfly or One is just the right shape and screen size. I wont be surprised if next year Apple come up with a bigger IPhone 6 that looks just like Butterfly.

I -really- liked the nice design and construction of the One, but the camera, being a major marketing feature, is an absolute disappointment.

My phone is shipped off to the service center, because I don't live in the central region. Hopefully it does get fixed, but based on the responses I saw everywhere... I highly doubt it. If it does, then I'll probably use the One interchangably with the 5S. Otherwise...

I too was once swayed and fell in love with larger screens. But now I find that its a burden to bear, literally, in my pocket, and the extra screen area isn't really as important to me anymore. I was combing through the internet to find a top end hardware android phone with a 4 or 4.3 inch screen, but alas, none are to be found. In fact, if you want a top end hardware phone with a smaller screen, the 5/5S is the only choice at the moment.

Well for 4.3 you do have the option of a Z1mini if you want an android. For me 4.7 was the perfect size (big but not too big for one handed usage). I love the H1 to bits but the camera issue is just killing it up to the point of it being nt usable at all. It doesn't help when you are comparing it with the newer Z1 which is superior in almost every way with a good camera as well.

Just sent my phone to SenHeng for them to ship it to HTC BTS since they insist me to do so instead of me heading there on my own. Just hope I'll get it ASAP, going back to my old HTC Incredible S in the mean time (which is an amazing phone as well). Been a big HTC fan for their solid build and the whole HTC One disaster is really ruining my perception of them =(

Maybe they should use a bit lower tech for the camera. Ultrapixel 4mp already problem.M8 using 10MP ultrapixel lagi.

500+PPI probably not.. i think the screen developement will go into OLED/curve display..
and we could also expect a better sound enchancement since NXP is coming out a better chip than what htc one has right now.

hmm..i think they should stick to the development of ultrapixel.. its what makes the phone different than the others..
if they could ramp up the megapixel then we should expect very good low light + details..
our M7 is the first to experience ultrapixel and of course it wouldnt be perfect.. but it will improve in time..

What is by definition an ultrapixel? How is it different from the other sensor technologies available now? As far as the technical details known publicly is concerned, it is just a ST Micro fabbed BSI CMOS sensor with a 2um pitch. That 2um pitch is 2x as sensitive to light as the more common 1.4um pixels found in the 8-13 megapixel sensors. The same manufacturer supplies sensors with the same process to many other phone makers. Sony also has a similar BSI process but they use it at smaller 1um and 1.4um pitches to get 8 and 13 megapixel cameras. The new 20megapixel cameras on the Z1 probably has a 0.7um process.

What it is definitely not is a new revolution in camera sensor design. It is not a pure RGB sensor like Foveon's, nor when the BSI tech first came into play.

There is actually nothing new about the ultrapixel other than marketing BS. Please don't swallow the BS and then regurgitate it back everywhere verbatim.

No. You dont ask. Just gripe and complain saying camera module after replace still not good.ask them to check their work properly. If they open it up twice there will sure be other things that got affected.like the screen and the speaker. In order to avoid that . They will give u new set.
You can wait another month for this to happen . They replace mine with new set after sending it back second time. But it took me 18august to 1st november for that new phone to be in my hand.

Thats why you dont ask for it. If they deem too much work to be done and scratched your phone until very obvious lines can be seen. Or superglued your phone until very obvious gap can be seen then they will do the right thing and get you a replacement. I dont bother giving them a call or anything during my 2nd stint. Just plain wait only. Call or no call also same. Let them do their thing and dont rush them the end result better than you calling and chase them everyday. Wait only ma.

I only ask for it when the 3rd times i sent my phone to SC...
1st time is main camera - solved with changed the main camera
2nd time is front camera - solved with changed the main board
3rd time is the battery life suck - not yet solve (HTC customer care call me when i complain on the survey)

Now the battery problem still not been solve but my cases been remarked in their system. So just need a call to ask them pick up.

From my own calculation, it takes 1 day for your phone to reach SC, 3 working days to repair (queue) 1 day for delivery to your door step. This is just my estimation. Cuz mine took 3 working days to be repaired at BTS.

You should send it to BTS. But you sent it already. I knew how it feels like.
I got mine faster than those who sent to Kelana Jaya 1 week earlier than me.
Let's just hope that they'll really take 2 days more to get your phone done.

I got back my phone yesterday which was sent to BTS SC on 28th October. They solved the purple tint problem and so far I didnt notice any pink spot problem on my phone. However, my top speaker got crackling noise problem after repairing....Im still thinking whether send it again to SC or not...

who said that BTS SC sucks? I got mine in 6 days, including delivery to me. Some LYN users got in 4 days by walk-in. The problematic SC is Kelana Jaya, which was closed already  sweat.gif

Just FYI guys, the BTS SC is neither Brightstar nor SIS... some other company called Edison Consultancy and Services. Cos the UPS guy that collected my phone gave me a copy of the waybill and it shows this previously unknown (to me) company.

Maybe its better service nowadays?

Yes. You have advantage talk to them directly. Don't waste it. I don't. I just give my phone to courier and then will never know where it go .. what they do ... just call 1800889855. And always get the answer "under repair". No clue.

I think 25/9/2013 cinesensor all got pink spot problem. If you don't have probably you don't take your photo under dark enough env.

I can see your environment not dark enough. Go to the room without light. Only let the light comes from your opened door. then point your camera to white area.

But .. If you don't really care about low light photo, just ignore pink spot problem. It is much better if compare to purple tint.

I don't see yellow zebra line in your photo.

taking pictures on a smart phone is one thing and one thing only...

like you said ... play games,... browse web, read news... all these not depends on the camera but rather the build quality and performance of the phone...

fast shutter is just awesome during burst mode...

i was on the streets in melbourne ... there is a road show .. some celebrity... there was a huge crowd ... i was using my htc one to burst shoot some photos...

and there were a few ladies.. standing beside me .. telling me that ... "that is how we should take photos next time, you are a pro" (she heard the burst shot sound)

I can see your environment not dark enough. Go to the room without light. Only let the light comes from your opened door. then point your camera to white area.
But .. If you don't really care about low light photo, just ignore pink spot problem. It is much better if compare to purple tint.

I don't see yellow zebra line in your photo.

tested. there is pink spot issue in low light for my unit too. even worse if i set ISO to 100 vmad.gif

Thanks for your help to complete the test. So it is pretty sure the 25-Sep-2013 having pink spot issue. I have sent mine on 28-Oct-2013 to fix pink spot problem. I explained very detail and capture some sample photo to them as well.

I will let you know if they fix the pink spot problem successfully. I called them 2 days ago and answer is 'under repair'. I suggest you don't send it first until I get back my unit and confirm all is ok.

Hope can get it back in next 2 weeks time.

its already been about a week. i think its already dried up by now. if i send it in for warranty and they found out that there is water damage, warranty will be voided right? and i have to pay for the repairs?

Yeah, warranty will definitely be void if they found out there's water damage. Not sure how much it will cost though. Hopefully they won't check if the phone has been in contact with water.

Hi , need you guys to help me check out is it abnormal to my phone.

My HTC One is 3 months old and it used to perform very well in battery.
but now ,it seems like my battery had degraded.

My phone had 3G turned on from 11am to 1am everyday.

11am(100%)
4am(10% so took it to charge)
8am(100%, finished charging)
1am(0%, charge again)

This is my daily charging cycle and I think that it is draining really fast.
I don't gaming much , just average usage of messaging and forum browsing.
I've measured the draining speed of my phone and I get this result:

Asphalt 8 = 1% every minute
Clash of Clan= 1% every 50 seconds
Browsing lowyat forum with 3G = 1% every 1minutes 50 second
Standby=1% every hour
Airplane mode on standby=1% every 1hour20minutes

I don't have any wakelock and I'm sure about that because it is same even after factory reset/different ROM

This result is very dissapointed me compared to the time when I just bought it and it only drained 1% overnight + continuous 2hrs and half Asphalt 7 multiplayer.

Do I need to send to HTC and get a new battery replacement?

I frequently browse whole day with 4G on can still survive with around 2x% till I get home around 7pm.

nope I never had it enabled ,I think it's the problem with my battery
the charging time is much faster from flat to 100% now , 2 hours only full already , I think the mAH in my battery already "decreased" alot

I guess you often do one of the below :-
1) over-charging your phone. Once battery reach 100%, you still let it charge.
2) using non official htc charger. It will reduce your htc battery life cycle bcos every charger have different voltage output.
3) play high intensive games when charging your phone, it will over-volt your phone battery. Your phone is not your laptop.
4) using some bad or non reputable china brand battery power banks. If want to use battery banks, buy reliable brands and pls pls pls don't charge your phone with the 2.1v USB output. Use the normal output.

1) I thought most modern phone will cut off the power once it fully charged? since the charger will cold down after fully charged

2)Nope I do not

3)Yea I do ,but this issue happen suddenly, I still remember the day before I notice this it was still perform very well.

4)I never use any powerbank

*BTW , I flashed alot of different rom , I think this started to occured after I flashed MIUI(which also happened to my S3 and cannot be fixed via software method)

So 1 and 3 is your problem. Installing custom ROM won't damage battery.
How can a phone or charger plug cut power off automatically if your leave your power socket on?

try using wakelock pro...

see which app or services keep using the cpu

that cause the massive battery drain

Yes I've tried alot of wakelock apps, it seems normal , not much wakelocks ,so obviously it's not something related with software.

Let it sit on a warm laptop or just put it under air conditioner air flow for a few days. This will drain the battery and let the internal dry out also. try to turn it on after a few days. or plug to charge. If all else fails, get a quote from the HTC service center by calling them , then base that as your reference price. Look for other alternative.

My iphone 4S last time with wake button issue (push wake button nothing happens) and LCD issue i just drench it with contact cleaner at the wake button location trying to wash the dirt away, the contact cleaner sipped into the LCD and the whole LCD is wet with marks. I turn it off put it into my locker for 3 weeks , after thinking it is gone case I took it out just to see what happens when I power it on , it just turns on and the LCD is clean with nothing at all & wake button issue solved. i really tabek Steve Jobs for that .

That's what I wonder too... from what other's say , the battery stopped charging at 100% and started to using the battery instead. So,I might think of although it is showing 100% but actually it is "98 ,97%" or something after some time

zixian96 Try wiping battery stats then do a full charge for at least 2 days. Btw, Clash of Clans eats up a lot of juice. At least for me.

The battery will stop charging once its full, and the phone will be powered via the USB port. This function is controlled via a power management circuit. Some intelligent circuits will cutover to the internal battery, let it discharge till 97-97% and then trickle charge the battery back to 100%.

Ignore the unplug after full, don't charge more than x hours, blah blah. That is old school 1990's battery charging technology.

All USB chargers output 5V, some can do 1A and some can do up to 2.1A. Its called load regulation. I've been using a 1st Gen iPad charger for all my phones and stuff since day one and no problems. There is no problem with using any USB charger from any brand as long as it complies to the USB 5V standard.

Cheap knockoffs from China does not apply. Those might be dangerous to use even. People have died doing so.

http://www.macrumors.com/2013/07/18/chines...orized-charger/

The same with substandard powerbanks. Highly likely won't kill you, but might kill your phone.

zixian96 Sorry for the confusion. Should be just wiped the battery stats then do a full charge. Monitor again. Because, after jumping into new roms. It is advised to wipe the battery stats. Worth a shot wink.gif

Forgive me for being busybody abit. Saw your siggy and wonder if you have already rooted your HTC One ? If you have unlocked it i think warranty void. Can save some travelling time to KL because service center might not entertain it.

If they work fast, don't repair properly, you guys complain. 3 days? Hahaha. You get back in a week can pray to God for thanks already.
