Got my HTC One replacement set from Seng Heng after 2.5 months of sending for repair. This one the camera is totally black when you put your finger on it or lay it on the table. So pretty satisfied with it. Although it did took me from 18 August 2013 ==> 28th September 2013 ===>1st November 2013 to get a brand new replacement set. but Im fine with it.

Sure Hope you guys have shorter wait time than me. I am in Kuching and the phone got send back twice. I guess after the second time they just dont want to open it up anymore.

Is pink/purple tint the one and the same problem? or is it a new one? Just googled "pink tint htc one" and its looked like the same problem only different takes on the color it created for them .

will go out and take a few pics to see for sure.

Imagine how much money and time HTC can save by just putting out a good product. No defect = no customer complaint , no waiting time and no tribunals.

Now they are checking for root to avoid warranty replacement. Really lowball.

Just got a 5S. My pants pockets love the smaller phone. Still having an S3 for my 2nd number. My HO is sent off to have its eye replaced. See how it goes if it gets repaired well then it will replace the S3. Otherwise... Gonna get rid of it cheap.

I feel the current trend with android phones and larger screens and higher resolutions are getting a bit absurd. Next year look forward to qHD and then qFHD with 500+PPI screens. Meanwhile batteries are not lasting any longer, and the entire package is getting heavier and heavier... At least the 5S doesn't remind me its in my pocket all day long.
*
After getting my hands on a IP5 last year and 5S this year, I realize it is nothing much than a longer IP4S. Cannot handle the small screen size any longer having pampered with 4.7"and above screen. To me HTC Butterfly or One is just the right shape and screen size. I wont be surprised if next year Apple come up with a bigger IPhone 6 that looks just like Butterfly.

Stay away from HTC is my best advise.

Maybe they should use a bit lower tech for the camera. Ultrapixel 4mp already problem.M8 using 10MP ultrapixel lagi.

they repair it...on receipt state replace camera module...so i can ask new one...?
*
No. You dont ask. Just gripe and complain saying camera module after replace still not good.ask them to check their work properly. If they open it up twice there will sure be other things that got affected.like the screen and the speaker. In order to avoid that . They will give u new set.
You can wait another month for this to happen . They replace mine with new set after sending it back second time. But it took me 18august to 1st november for that new phone to be in my hand.

I sent in 3 times... and HTC customer care also call me few time... I told them to replace a new 1 for me... But they say need to sent in and check again... >.<
dude, after u sent in 2mrw, kindly update whether can exchange 1 on 1... BTW you sent in which SC?
*
Thats why you dont ask for it. If they deem too much work to be done and scratched your phone until very obvious lines can be seen. Or superglued your phone until very obvious gap can be seen then they will do the right thing and get you a replacement. I dont bother giving them a call or anything during my 2nd stint. Just plain wait only. Call or no call also same. Let them do their thing and dont rush them the end result better than you calling and chase them everyday. Wait only ma.

guys, some water got on my phone and now it cant turn on, or charge. the orange led light wont even turn on when i charge it. i sent it to a shop for repair, the guy said probably lcd damage. price to repair is 700 sad.gif what should i do? i know htc service is like crap.
*
Let it sit on a warm laptop or just put it under air conditioner air flow for a few days. This will drain the battery and let the internal dry out also. try to turn it on after a few days. or plug to charge. If all else fails, get a quote from the HTC service center by calling them , then base that as your reference price. Look for other alternative.

My iphone 4S last time with wake button issue (push wake button nothing happens) and LCD issue i just drench it with contact cleaner at the wake button location trying to wash the dirt away, the contact cleaner sipped into the LCD and the whole LCD is wet with marks. I turn it off put it into my locker for 3 weeks , after thinking it is gone case I took it out just to see what happens when I power it on , it just turns on and the LCD is clean with nothing at all & wake button issue solved. i really tabek Steve Jobs for that .

Plan to go KL since im so free lol

IF waiting in Kuantan i would be bored without my HTC One cry.gif

Forgive me for being busybody abit. Saw your siggy and wonder if you have already rooted your HTC One ? If you have unlocked it i think warranty void. Can save some travelling time to KL because service center might not entertain it.

I think not QC problem. Its simply that they do not have enough good ultrapixel camera. So they change their standard. To allow for more camera to be able to make it into phones and do warranty later when user discover the problem. Its the CEO and management that is making this decision.
There is not much QC that you can do. All using computers . The computers would have detected the fault (purple tint or pink tint) automaticly & ask you to discard the camera. Wheather to discard or not is upto human decision. Its impossible that so many faulty camera can be missed and let into production .

I guess no one will allow you test the phone before you buy..Its a sealed unit .. Correct me if i am wrong
*
The process kind of go like this : you pay, then you open the box , test the set , if the set is OK , take.
if the set is not OK , dont take. ask for replacement. Just make sure you go to big shop like SenQ or as they say , directd. So that they have a few sets there if anything does go wrong & you need a replacement.

hmm. Bro you need to bargain around in the shops thr too. thr a lot of mobile shops thr. You can even ask them to bring the box first or say u will deny the phone if the box is not sealed packed. When i bought htc one red. Market price was around 2100 for htc one red but demand was so high that i cudnt get it cheaper than 2000RM I tried a lot of shops for price.

Yes just go to him and say I asked many htc one user... If he still argues abt zitron. Just say that you said him it will be either brightstar or SIS and now I want SIS and my other friends all have SIS set. And make sure box is sealed.

made in China and made in Taiwan is thr too.. usually Black htc ones in Malaysia are made in Taiwan so make sure about that too.
*
Thats how things go when buying from Street Vendors. Really cannot know or trust people in big city nowadays .
Here in Kuching HTC no demand, only official shops carry them - HTC dealer & SenQ . No worry about the authenticity
of the set but the price is steep .

guys, anyone has experience sending phone to senq to claim the warranty? i asked them to fix the camera problem by sending the phone to htc malaysia. after a week that is yesterday, i called htc and they told me the my device is not in their recored. they took more than a week just to send a phone???
*
Yes. I send my phone to claim warranty for purple tint thru senQ. Bought it there so send thru them.
The thing about SenQ is that they don't send things to claim warranty every day. They collect them and send to a certain store in your area , that store then send out to KL and then depending on what things you are claiming for, be it TV , small appliance, tablets , smartphones, dispatched to their destination.

Normally it takes them quite longer than a week to get things to where they should be . Just expect it to be back in 1 month time. Meaning no need to chase them or rush them (HTC i mean), just let it flow and take their own sweet time to do repair and request of parts. Go to the SenQ where you send it and ask for update after 1 month time. you might be surprised its already there waiting for you.

If you rush them , they will put whatever part that they have (even if it is faulty) to get it back to you ASAP and you will be sending it in again right at the shop. Trust me. It happened to me.

Why dont just call the hotline? hmm.gif

Next time u should warranty from the hotline icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Good thing i did not.

See , the thing is I bought a 3 year extended warranty at about rm170 for my HTC One from SenQ. Covers LCD break and a host of other accidents except water damage. that warranty starts when the SIS 1 year warranty ends.
I send my phone through SenQ so that they keep track in their database what happens to my phone. Generate reports and repair history along the way. What happens after this is I got a replacement NEW HTC One back after sending it back twice, with new IMEI .( I did not send them the box so the box is still the old one)
So now my warranty coverage is for the new set of HTC One IMEI which SenQ now have in their system because I send it through them and receive it through them. So next time the purple tint recur or something happens I will still be able to send for warranty through SenQ . They will not miss a beat because the documentation is with them.

Oh ya about the google permission thingy, should I allow access?
*
If not sure, better dont. Better Safe than Sorry . Just common sense.
Usually if it is stuff I know will drain battery like location data . I will turn it off.
If its just error reporting from HTC and Google, Youtube, should be OK.
Somehow I trust Google more than Facebook. Crazy Huh.

Hello everyone. Finally decided to file for tribunal to get my $$ refund for HTC One. After 2 times sending to service center come back with new/refurbished set also top BoomSound Speaker cracking sound.

No need ask anymore, "Penentang " column fill the name of dealer you buy the phone from right? In my case Senq.
I just filed a feedback report to Senq asking for refund and they called me back saying no such policy,
While I was at the TTPM . I told the guy who call me to forward my complaint to HTC\sis and say the filing date will be 4th Dec and the court date will be 18th December, apparently the President will be here in Kuching that day!

Just 1 question for the winners of the tribunal. Who pay for your refund ? HTC or the dealer and how long does it take to get the $$. Via bank in or go and collect? rclxms.gif

Lets say if I am HTC & I have limited amount of good camera modules. Do you think I will send to Service Center to repair the phone that I have already sold and made the money on them already , or do I put it in the New Units that is making money for me 2 weeks down the road?

Like Triple H says , "Its good for Business" .
