Rental in Bukit Batok is not cheap.
Where's your office? Bukit Batok Industrial Park?

Looks for any direct bus to your office and then try to eye on area where you can take the bus. Try to avoid mrt.
*
I will go collect offer letter next 2 weeks, will see how at there later.

But why say so, to avoid mrt? From google map, it tells that my office is around 1km to MRT. Is fine for me to walk 1 or 2km daily. biggrin.gif

Has anyone here ever shipped parcels from Malaysia to Singapore? Which service provider do you usually use and how much will it cost approximately? What about custom and tax? I'm planning to buy some electronics from Malaysia and ship it over to Singapore for personal use..

Chap fan is around 3 to 3.50, chap noodles around 2 to 2.50. Go do your maths. With 2k you will have a hard time in SG, but still can save depending on your lifestyle. Don't come if you don't see your salary will raise substantially in few years time. You won't be so lucky to be free of commitment for long. SG gets expensive the older you grow.

Say, common room - S$700
Rent hike after one year + S$50 ~ S$100

or as much as they want rolleyes.gif

In 2008 - common room @ S$400 ~ S$500
In 2014 - some common rooms can go up to S$1000
