QUOTE(alvo @ Oct 28 2013, 12:48 AM) Just to seek some opinion here..I considering an opportunity to relocate to SG..considering that I have a commitment in the form of a house in KL..I am wondering if it makes any sense to move over to SG ..(take the salary equation aside as I would be earning more or less the same amount of salary both in KL & SG as it is a company relocation)..From a tax / quality of life (living in a rented room vs a house of your own for example) / cost of living perspective..would like views from you guys who have worked or working in SG to contribute your 2cents..thanks! a. Tax wise, better of in SG as the tax rates are much lower (almost a good 6-7% less of ur annual salary.. ie RM60k taxed at 10% vs S$60k taxed at 4% effective)b. Quality of life - really depends on how you define it. if you want big house and your own car and have your extended family nearby (assuming ur from KL), msia wins. if you want convenience and relatively good public transport, singapore wins. (and I believe this changes as you age, and as you have kids) A few things to think about is in terms of stress levels. Stress levels of a RM5k job and a S$5k is different. (i dunno how others feel, but I feel that it's bloody competitive here and that drains me on a day to day basis. Some are invigorated by the challenge, so yea.. depends on what kind of person you are) |

Hi guys, anyone has any experience arranging for a large outing (ie 50-100 people) in Singapore?
Any suggested activities? I'm probably going to organise a department outing, so I'm wondering what do corporations in Singapore do for their teambuilding etc. |

QUOTE(Argiope @ Nov 6 2013, 06:15 PM) I once kena a taxi that drives that way and i almost puked in his taxi. After i reached home and got my change, i told the driver, the way you drive really cannot make it. You are lucky the distance is short else i'm gonna puke in your taxi. Then slammed his door and walked off. My gf has a terrible taxi driver that picked her up, halfway decided not to send her home, and decided to drop her at geylang.I didn't sound him throughout the journey cos i scared he say lu tak suka lu turun. Swear to god if I see that guy I'm going to take his picture and report him. |

QUOTE(Fiona Chin @ Nov 27 2013, 04:39 PM) I got a course mate working there. Junior level's life is very good, peak period 9 to 5 go home on time, 9 am to 5 am. Discrimination in KL is reverse discrimination. Private sector in KL favors the non-bumis. If you are fine with the discrimination in MY, SG one is nothing. Most office people don't do that, only some self-thought-highly-educated people will look down on others who are worse off than him. Respect others, you will get the same in return. Speaking of which, where is my friend who discriminate against the village labourers? In singapore, you're just discriminated. BUt then, so is everyone else, so actually no one is discriminated. lol. |

QUOTE(alaskanbunny @ Dec 11 2013, 11:24 PM) QUOTE(be_happy @ Dec 12 2013, 11:44 AM) AVP = Assistant Vice President. It really depends because when i worked as collection my AVP is my manager's manager. But when I went to loan department, AVP is manger's manager manager. Lol... Funds back office side. From what I gather it doesn't seem so high up, but I'm still trying to gather where that rank is in the pecking order.. (title inflation lol)I think if you go after 10a.m should be no problem. Anyway SG very efficient. |
