Thinking the 1.2% apply to all expenses or only retail? How about online purchase? Installment, auto-bill?
Any idea?

All swipes (inc those you listed) with OCBC World MasterCard will get 1.2% rebate

mr chow should be sacked from the increase in card cancellation which means his points are way off what we actually need.

that letter is so confusing (or that, I am dumb).

it fails to explain the alleged benefits that the new card has.

so my qs are:
1. does that mean we will be entitled to RM50 for 5% and 1% unlimited?
2. do we need to call for an upgrade or it is an automatic thing

i also called to their hotline. the only thing holding me back from upgrading is in the future, the annual fee cannot be waived.

Would that 0.2% cover the annual fee? Yes if you are big spender.
Any mention of AF waiver if spent over 10,000 on existing Titanium card?

There is no Annual Fee anymore on the Titanium card, however they've also lifted the spend rm10k and rebate Government tax rm50 portion

not many people will be willing to pay even RM50 in Annual Fee, whatmore RM388.

There is no explicit condition to waive Annual Fee unlike RHB Infinite / World where u need min spending of RM100K / RM50K to waive the Annual Fee.

That remains to be seen but what do u guys think, will OCBC give AF Waiver for spending of just RM10K to RM20K?

Btw, there is no mention of free bag for Titanium Card who upgrade to World Card.

that's why if just for the 0.2% does not bring any significant difference if you just spend RM100k/year.

THIS is my main concern.

If u upgrade to the World, its going to be a one year thing, that kinda annual fees is ridiculous. The 0.2% is miniscule when compared to the RM388 annual fee.

This is another concern.

I'm turning this card into a niche card, for specific use only, day to day usage this is pure crap.

Time to cancel my wife's supp.

Just checked with OCBC call centre myself.

For OCBC Titanium card
- Confirmed that AF will be free for life.
- No waiving of GST or RM50 rebate annually, regardless how much you spend per year

For World Mastercard
- RM 388 AF for second year onwards since first year is waived
- AF and GST can't be waived, regardless how much you spent annually.
- With 0.2%, one has to spend RM194,000 just to get back rebate of RM 388 to cover the AF.

Summary: Better to stick with OCBC Titanium card if you are a die hard OCBC fan. There's plenty of equivalent CC around the market with unlimited 1% rebate, not to mention with evergreen point system no?
