OCBC is smart..
Maybe they found that they cant earn much from old cash back benefit. As we know, merchants are paying around 1.8% to bank for each swipe, so by giving unlimited 1%, they are earning 0.8% for every swipe. For old benefit, they are losing 3.2% for some category, and earn back if customer swipe more than 1k (Cap 50/month). I think they already expect will lost some customer, but they surely calculate and estimate before make this big changes. Maybe next few months when they compare their Titanium Card earning report with previous 5% benefit, found out that they earn less than that, then their management only will do something. So what we can do now is, after 29-nov, find other replacement card, reduce OCBC card usage, reduce their profit. This post has been edited by red_scorpion: Nov 12 2013, 02:20 AM |

QUOTE(kurtkantoi @ Nov 25 2013, 04:24 PM) Anyone know where I can top up my TnG card and get 5%. Need to spend RM500 to maximize the rebate before 29th.. go to petronas in lebuh bukit jalil.. you come from sunway via ldp, after toll, turn left to lebuh bukit jalil, after the furniture row shop, you will see that petronas. Im in Bandar Sunway area. they are charging rm1 for every rm100 cc swipe This post has been edited by red_scorpion: Nov 25 2013, 10:24 PM |

QUOTE(patrickthissen @ Dec 14 2013, 11:31 AM) Just saw my statement, they charged me RM 50 for GST... let me know whether you successfully offset the GST or not.Previously I called the CS and they say I am entitled for GST waiver due to exceeded their annual usage limit 10k. However, this valid until 29 Nov but my CC anniversary is on 11 DEC.. Called to CS and the CS said try help me to waive this one.. ARrrghhh My anniversary is coming soon, and I also face this problem. Tell them so unfair to us as our anniversary is fall on DEC which is within 1 month of 29Nov |

QUOTE(lamode @ Jan 15 2014, 07:13 PM) Got a call back just now, they were asking whether I would keep the card if they rebate the RM50 GST for me. a GST rebate is consider a good offer already. You can accept the offer and keep it as spare card. When you want to swipe big amount such as rm10k, OCBC can rebate you rm100. I told them I would continue to hold OCBC card if they can upgrade it to WMC, but the answer was no, so i rejected the rebate politely and they proceed the cancellation. WMC is not so good only, u get 1.2% rebate, but you have to pay high annual fee and GST. Maybe you can call in to request waiver of fees, but so troublesome to do that. |

QUOTE(victorywp @ Feb 26 2014, 04:32 PM) seems like ocbc starts to absorb the gst again... maybe after too many users cancelled their cc because of the gst... that was 2 months ago..december time, for all GST charged on December, you might get the GST offset, as the new rule implement on 29th Nov is unfair for December CC holder. According to their CS, they only offset for this time, no more next year. |

QUOTE(supersound @ Mar 28 2014, 11:16 PM) If you want to make money, apply for HLB's WISE and swipe for groceries only. Then what ever groceries you bought, sell it back for the price you buy. Like Top detergent you bought it at rm10, sell it back at rm10. You can gain rm0.825 from it. If you can make full use of rm1000 on it, you only pay rm900 to HLB every month. So rm100 you make. where to sell the detergent or groceries? sell it online? so tedious But as everything price are up, I'm selling the Top detergent at rm11(make rm2 every bag I sold). Borrow money from bank and put FD to make money can't work, unless the interest rate are >6% a year. |

finally OCBC malaysia update their old UI look and feel. Give them sometimes to fix some minor bug. :-)
Hopefully they will launch mobile banking app soon. |
