Just wondering if I charge my insurance monthly payment to my OCBC card, will I get the 1% rebate? Are there any better card for this?

Thanks smile.gif

yes, the 1% cash back is for anything including insurance.
the better card would be mbb2cards amex but only for certain insurance company.

yes, you are right:
1) mbb2cards amex 5% but only during weekends
2) aeon watami 3% but minimum rm3k transactions in a quarter
3) alliance you:nique 3% but with tiers
4) hlb wise 10% but on selected categories with min swipes/month

tier-based, not as attractive as it looks.

Watami 3% is a better choice but min. 3k per quarter spending.

sign0006.gif with you:nique, if you spend between rm2-3k doesn't mean that you get the rebate as per rm2-3k x 3%.
you get only 0.5% for the first rm1k, 1.5% for the second rm1k, and 3% for the third rm1k.
means if you spend rm3k, you only get a rebate of rm50 (rm1k x 0.5% + rm1k x 1.5% + rm1k x 3%) instead of rm90 (rm3k x 3%).

expenses range rebate rates
rm0 – rm1,000 0.50%
rm1,001 – rm2,000 1.50%
rm2,001 – rm3,000 3.00%
>rm3,000 0.30%

not forgetting the UOB one card.

But still every single one of those alternatives comes with terms attached, the titanium is still pretty good for large transaction amounts on transactions that don't fall into specific categories ie: insurance premium, big purchases, down payment, booking etc.

1% isn't that all bad.
