guys, need opinion/comment about Artic Freezer64 Pro. Sounds tempting. 3 heatpipes and pre-applied MX-1 and low noise fan. hmm.gif

IMo, the diff in temps will not be that significant.
ure better off getting other HSF's that are more exp, but the results are guaranteed.

I'm using this Freezer Pro 7 for my e6300. With fan speed set to the highest, it manages to sink my temp by around 8-10C. But with low rpm, it only drop around 5C, but it's dead silent. Under full rpm, there's obvious noise....
I hope this helps... icon_rolleyes.gif

It's a mainstream cooler intended to replace the stock cooler. Good if you're not planning on overclocking. Dead silent. If you're planning on overclocking, go for something else. Noctua, TR, or maybe Tuniq Tower.

Max RM200? Hmm...a bit difficult. Most TR and Zalman is Rm200+. I think only Noctua and Tuniq Tower fits into your budget.

Tuniq Tower will fit your budget. second best air cooler behind Ultra120Ext and comparable with Ultra120. btw, ultra120ext and ultra120 both tested using S-Flex fan which cost rm80+ whistling.gif

if budget rm300, get ultra120+bracket+fan
if budget rm400, get ultra120ext+bracket+fan (i can only wish tongue.gif)
if budget rm200, get tuniq tower which included 9 blade high cfm fan.

You guys all forget the Scythe Ninja ar. For all intents and purposes, it's just as good as the Ultra-120 and Tuniq Tower and it costs a paltry RM180 from most people in the bulk. tongue.gif

urghh. i forgot ninja. actually it's right below tuniq but only if using SilenX which cost a bomb too. for rm10 different between ninja and tuniq, it's easy to make decision brows.gif

Hmm...i think neither of those are good at passive cooling or low cfm fan...i dunno, not sure. But for passive cooling, you usually need a massive amount of surface area and the fins need to be spaced quite far apart compared to active coolers. Like TR HR-01.. The Noctua one got a silent fan, even with 2 fans you wont hear a thing. Can set it in a push-pull setting.

for fanless aka passive cooling, I think scythe ninja is the best. IIANM, it is designed to use in fanless mode.

actually i think tuniq does a better job compared to the ninja and infinity.
but then again, the airflow of the case plays a factor.

i had a ninja way back then, outperformed by my infinity and i tried the tuniq tower. i mean the diff is not that significant, but its still there (about 1 - 2 degrees)

Review from anandtech(using C2D) it seems Thermalright 120 Ultra/Xtreme is the best. But from hexus.net(using PD) Big Typhoon VX is the best. Its really subjective matter.

initially i wanted to get myself a tuniq tower, but it was no where to found in lowyat. settled down with TTBT VX, and it does get the job done. smile.gif

Ninja is kind of good seems from the review......small in size and compact

tuniq is kind of big......almost like thermal right HR-01 or ultra 120.......

but performance wise is superb..... mine HR-01 (no fans) load out at 40oC on hot day (running at 2.88Ghz). Going to try with fan setup....

but really 1 ~ 2 oC really small difference for most people.....
