i did look up for reviews on the net but i much prefer opinions from ppl around here .. you guys seems to have problems very similar to mine. anyway here's me specs: (using speed fan 4.3.3) processor: intel p4 3.0ghz ram: 2 stick 512mb apacer ddr cant remember graphics card: winfast 8600gt (bought about 2 weeks ago) fan: intel stock fan currently used thermal paste: MX-2 idle: 46-48 load: can reach 60+ while running programs as follows:
WoW, MSN Messenger, AVG, IE
fan noise: hardly noticeable graphics card fan: ok la .. can hear abit .. still can sleep if left running next to bed. from what i've read, definition of load is 100% cpu usage, mine is not a hundred percent i think which brings me to the temperature problem. my main question is: my load temperature (60++) on cpu, will it shorten my processor lifespan. thanks again for any opinion

Hitting 60 is pretty much close to the wall which is 70 ...
yah running ur processor over 55+ all the time indeed would reduced it's life span ...
Either the cooler doesn't works well or u have poorly assembled the cooler ...
Try to remove the cooler and check out the pattern of the thermal paste left on both sides ...try to look for the contact level and if both sides really contacted well..

hmm .. if he's using 8600GT, in general it should be the first generation of socket 775 platform that make still make use of DDR1 ram ..
So on my guess, the processor should be based on socket LGA 775..
anyway only he could clarify the doubt here ... where's he ???

Hi guys, I'm considering these 2 hsf, a) CM Hyper TX (bulk rm99) b) Xigmatek 963 (bulk rm119)
Does the xigmatek gives better performance/value ratio than hyper tx? The reviews I read for Hyper Tx are pretty positive sounding, but then again, a lot of ppl curse and swear when it comes to CM products. Some real experience comment would be much appreciated.
