Thinking of replacing my current HSF when my salary arrives. Anyone have any recommendation for a HSF below RM200 and performs well?

I do not want any from TR, Noctua and the TTBTVX though cause they seem to be the common recommendation..lol..Looking for something like the UltraX or something that performs well. Any idea?
*
UltraX? it cost more than rm300 sweat.gif

for rm200 and not the brand u specified, can try CM GeminII. but once u see the product, u might get shocked lol. price rm150 without fan

Not that much la. I saw forumers bulking it for RM 255 only. I know you budget is RM200 but add just another RM55, and you get one of the greatest air cooler there is!!!

Imaging, it is lower than the noctua by 18'c at 3.9 Ghz!!!! (in the review)

Here's somebody bulking the Sonic Tower 120 if you don't want the TR:

rm255? are you sure? AFAIK, only lonewolf do bulk on it. cost rm325

i think he meant the "deadspot". the middle of the fan where the motor are, doesn't push air. if close contact with heatsink, no air pushed in that area. if u distance a bit between fan and heatsink, some air will pass through there due to space available for air to disperse. might sound confusing cuz i'm bad in explaining stuff lol

that scythe shows that they wont lose to CM GeminII. i hope copycat Thermaltake come out with bigger one. size of turbocharger cooler...

btw, how to install that scythe HSF? cant even access ram or whatever on the board once installed. can uninstall after install? i doubt that too unless using screw system on backplate.

I will go for Tuniq, im getting it now. Tuniq <RM200 is bargain.

QUOTE(plague @ Jun 8 2007, 09:40 PM)
I would go for 120 extreme. Best of the best. Difference from Tuniq not even RM100. As for the fan,can search yourself. Silent fan, loud fan, any fan.

tuniq is good value buy since it comes with fan but problem is i already has a fan. i intend to get ultra120 extreme paired up with big typhoon VX's 9 blade fan(really blow).

both hsf unavailable at this time. one MOQ not met, another one hard to find stock....

should i just get the current king (ultra120Extreme) or a notch lower (tuniq)? both are very good.

Ya, saw that review also. Good for cooling but would be impractical. Not to mention the weight and cost of that huge heatsink. Imagine bringing that rig for repair.... You'd probably need a trolley.....  doh.gif

In this case, watercooling would be a better choice.....
*
what review? it's not even on sale yet. moreover, that heatsink is part of their casing set. i doubt it sell separately as it won't fit in normal case. and it's not very heavy too (the heatsink)

can u just edit your previous post instead of multiple posts?

for the CM Orb, the only way it to change the cooler or use the yello/green slots

Tuniq Tower will fit your budget. second best air cooler behind Ultra120Ext and comparable with Ultra120. btw, ultra120ext and ultra120 both tested using S-Flex fan which cost rm80+ whistling.gif

if budget rm300, get ultra120+bracket+fan
if budget rm400, get ultra120ext+bracket+fan (i can only wish tongue.gif)
if budget rm200, get tuniq tower which included 9 blade high cfm fan.

geminII basically cover upper half (if ATX) of the mobo. northbridge, cpu, pwm, ram, etc all are covered. widest coverage lol

but prepared for high cfm fan (and noise) as it's more effective pushing air toward your mobo, that HSF raised quite high from mobo.
