Anyone heard of TT's V1 and Max Orb? Has it arrived here yet? Since they have great success with their Big Typhoon, maybe these two aren't so bad. Comments?

A question to add. Does the positioning of the HSF affects the fluids in the heatpipes? As we know, fluids are affected by gravity. So does a horizontal or vertical positioning of the HSF affects it? If it does, wouldn't it reduce the performance of the heatpipes in transferring heat? Unless the inside of the heatpipes are vacuum right? Anyone? Lemme know if my question is unclear. Thanks in advance! notworthy.gif

Errr.... your link didn't show any tube or anything? You're referring to the casing?

I would go for 120 extreme. Best of the best. Difference from Tuniq not even RM100. As for the fan,can search yourself. Silent fan, loud fan, any fan.

So....no need to tighten the copper base to the processor? If tighten, can't open the case. Even so, how on earth do you tighten it? Doesn't makes any sense rclxub.gif .

It's a mainstream cooler intended to replace the stock cooler. Good if you're not planning on overclocking. Dead silent. If you're planning on overclocking, go for something else. Noctua, TR, or maybe Tuniq Tower.

Max RM200? Hmm...a bit difficult. Most TR and Zalman is Rm200+. I think only Noctua and Tuniq Tower fits into your budget.

Hmm...i think neither of those are good at passive cooling or low cfm fan...i dunno, not sure. But for passive cooling, you usually need a massive amount of surface area and the fins need to be spaced quite far apart compared to active coolers. Like TR HR-01.. The Noctua one got a silent fan, even with 2 fans you wont hear a thing. Can set it in a push-pull setting.

If there's about 5c difference between them i would consider changing, ninja can't handle c2duo very good when over 3Ghz

What is your idle and load temp with your ninja?

idle around 50c load 65c? That's at 3.2Ghz@1.385v with E6300
*
Hmm...kinda high i think. But i'm not sure what is the safe operating temp for C2D. But usually should keep it below 70C right? Still ok i think. If you can reduce 5C here, it does makes a different. I think 120 extreme should satisfy your rig. I dont think Noctua is capable in your case, but then again i'm not sure. Maybe you want to put on to the test? Hehehe

Ultra 120Extreme is around RM 250 sweat.gif , rather spend a bit more for IFX14
*
Aha....IFX only got 4 heatpipes on top of the proc, and 2 at the back. But 120 extreme got 6 on top of the proc. Far more better IMO.

Wrong.
More heatpipes doesn't mean it'll be better than others.
Check the original website for the IFX-14.

The heatpipes for the IFX-14 is thicker & fatter than the normal heatpipe used in Ultra 120 eXtreme.

Google around before u say that.
And gives proof for what you said. smile.gif
*
That's why i said IMO. I didn't say what i said is the true fact. And why thicker and fatter heatpipes are better?

Larger space for the gas to move up and more gas can be filled in the heatpipe which results to better heat transfer. smile.gif

I see...so more heat can be move at one time. But one thing i'm not sure of, isn't the contact point between heatpipes and the fins is also important? 4 fat heatpipes, compared to six thin heatpipes...which one have a greater surface contact with the fins? 2(pi X (diameter/2))???? rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif laugh.gif
