Update: Latest stat shows more than 50% of SW office lots are now occupied. Everyday 2 or 3 move ins. Mainly because broadband access is no longer an issue and relatively low rental rates from about RM1.50 psf.

SW anchor hotel - renovation plans submitted for permit approval.

Great news. The hotel will liven up the quiet side of setiawalk. Any idea whether its a brandname?

To all SW apartments' tenant, you should ask for at least 10% reduction from your landlord!

Why? Because I just got 10% reduction for my rented unit after reasoning with the landlord on the deteriorating and unavailable facilities!

Good luck all!

Latest news: SW's Big Rock decorative feature to be destroyed and removed without any planned replacement.
SW's architects had made much effort to include features/artistic objects and statues to enhance the overall style and ambience of SW as a modern contemporary place. Unfortunately at least one such decorative feature- The Big Rock (please refer to photo) infront of B6/behind Caring will be destroyed and removed. After just about a 15 minutes deliberation, Jmc has voted by a 5 (3 commercial +2 residential reps) to 2 (1 commercial + 1 residential reps) votes to get rid of it in its latest meeting. Main reasons forwarded by those proposing and voting to remove it are - it is ugly and blocks the view from Block B. The beauty of fine contemporary arts is often in the eye of the beholder. The ability to appreciate (and respect those who created) them is obviously not universal. No comments from our commercial (and supposedly professional) promotion management team - indicates its weakness in this subject matter as well. Much as I do respect the voting decision, the impending removal of this fine art object that is already there is much regretted. To destroy and remove a decorative feature is easy, but to create and build one is both difficult and costly. In my opinion SW will have to pay the price for an unnecessary Jmc's decision to take a step backwards by reducing rather than adding features that enhance its visitors' appeal as a finer place to live, work or play!

what a waste!
if i could vote, i would vote to keep it (the rock)
is an art
blocking view? maybe is just an excuse since business is slowing?
shanghai theme apparently is going through a major revamp. you can also see from LDP the banner at the outside facade of the mall
but it won't be successful without good quality tenants
food gotta be good
not cincai food
people are willing to pay for good delicious yummy food
enjoy first, money no problem
if lousy food, just skip it!

I hv just received cfm from PMC the SW Big Stone sculpture has not been discarded yet.

Following is my w'apps communication with SW Management and all Jmc members just fyi.

Since about 24 hours ago, more than ten owners of SW have responded to this news. 100% disagree (i.e. do NOT agree) that the SW Big Stone sculpture be discarded.

Dear Mr Ong and Mr Puah I seek PMC's cooperation to delay implementation of this Jmc decision until after the next Jmc meeting for the following reasons.

1. This is not an urgently needed to be done task.
2. No time frame has been mandated in the Jmc decision.
3. The discarding process is irreversible.
4. There has been an overwhelming NO to discard it from SW owners' responses received so far.

I will be coordinating a petition of sort to SAVE THE SW BIG STONE SCULPTURE. I will compile and list out the identity of all owners in social media who disagree with the removal for Jmc's reconsideration in its next official meeting.

Anyone who wish to share his/her view just need to clearly indicate in this or other social media forum where I hv placed the news- that he/she disagree/object that the sculpture be discarded. I will then compile n bring it up in next official Jmc meeting. Will then see what happens next. Your views may help to SAVE THE SW BIG ROCK SCULPTURE.
