To all SW apartments' tenant, you should ask for at least 10% reduction from your landlord!

Why? Because I just got 10% reduction for my rented unit after reasoning with the landlord on the deteriorating and unavailable facilities!

Good luck all!
*
Yup i stay in Sw. Many facilities are broken, or intentionally turned off perhaps to save electricities.. some since day1 and many in recent months.

yesterday I bumped into a tenant. he thanked me for tipping him as he managed to get rm100 off from his landlorD.

One owner of Block B who happens to be a Jmc member proposed the Big Rock sculpture be removed. Officially we were told this is because it looks ugly and blocks the view from Block B. No other reasons were officially offered. Within about 10 minutes voting started. 5 voted for its removal while 2 objected.

All common area belongs to JMB. At the moment there is only one common Jmc. So all are entitled to vote.

the rock look nice and unique. Why the need to remove it?
*
Saw the proposal before meeting. Thought it was just a personal preference and no possibility for him to get the votes for such an obvious decision to me. Reason given during the meeting were its ugly and blocks the view from Block B. However 3 others just voted for its removal without any comment. The other member who agrees it is ugly, now has no objection to save it. To my knowledge the four are personal friends. This may have compromised the judgement of the other three.

Thanks for your comments so that those on the opposite side of the fence may have a little better understanding of opposing views. Your support (a first in social media so far) for discarding the sculpture will be recorded.

Wish to share a posting obtained from another forum for our info. Apparently SP did spend some big money on the sculptures.

Very bad decision. I understand all sculptures @ setiawalk r commissioned fr a wellknown sculpture firm in bangsar and their works r reputable regionally. Also they dont come cheap. While art is subjective, i am personally against removing the rock as it enhances the natural tereain that is part of the setiawlk water feature.

Yes we need to vote. But not at the time of the night where only 8 members are around and the four personal friends (which includes the Chairman with an additional casting vote) is assured of victory - whatever the opinion of the rest. So on hind sight, beginning to see why they make no effort to even present their individual views as to why they voted to discard the sculpture. Because they are assured of a win which ever way the rest voted. It is all over within about 10 minutes.

As the owner of R1-17-05, I do not wish to have the rock removed or destroyed.

Thanks

Oh my God! It looks like these gang of 4 (including the JMB chairman) are too powerful and perhaps can vote in favour of them especially in situation when the quarom are weak (e.g., 8 or less)?

Btw, anyone recalls what is the full name of the current JMB chairperson, and his three entourages? We need to make sure our financials are audited properly in the coming year and may the rest of the JMB members pls be more vigilant.. Does anyone smell something fishy here?

Do visitors get a say at all? I think amidst of all these bickering, should the management pay heed to visitors interest, instead of your own?

As a frequent visitor, I would like to ask, why so much fuss just for ONE ARTIFICIAL rock (it's really funny cuz it's not even a real rock, why dont get a REAL rock instead), and not concentrating the effort on :

1. safety of visitors (the area with wooden planks really need some of your free time)

2. cleanliness (why dont you spend more time cleaning up the stairs and the surrounding pillars on ground floor, especially with rubbish bin?)

3. more shops (seems like more shop moving out instead of coming into Setiawalk, hope my fav korean restaurant dont move out too sad.gif )

4. more events (glad there's a monthly bazaar going on, can we have it more frequently, there's hardly anything to look at in Setiawalk. The mall should hv more variety. Water feature looks like a nice place, why not do some activity in it, kids like to play with water)

5. improvements
5.1 the parking area is sooooooo confusing, the letter doesnt follow the same block on ground floor.
5.2 Phone signal is so weak, my frens who use Maxis or Celcom cant get signal most of the time.
5.3 pls pls let us use the lift at night, when we come to watch movie at night or yumcha, the lift wont go down to basement parking! It is sooooooo troublesome....

Hope the situation in Setiawalk improves, sigh~~~
