why not just claim warranty? free.

think wise.

I think things like lamp burnt cannot claim warranty if i'm not wrong. They just replace the bulb and it is considered as wearable parts. So chargeable.

Anyway, my power window(both) already got problem...5000k+ only *sigh*...gotta go fix it next service.

btw, the new SAGA dashboard looks really like a savvy... steering wheel, glovebox, airbag hole etc... etc..

Proton original filter now cost RM12.30 only from Proton parts centre (last 2 years it was RM 34.01)...OSK is around RM6.

Copper sealing ring is RM1.10

But I feel the cheaper OSK has better quality (from outside lah dunno about the paper filter inside), OSKs are wrapped with plastic (the mounting part) and the gasket is preoiled unlike the Proton one..

Driver power window sot-sot aleady. Press down no response, press up also no response. Have to press a few times then only got response. The remote to the passenger window totally not working, but i think the passenger window can be use from it's own button below the window. Maybe the driver power window switch spoilt?

btw, i intend to change engine oil (Mach 5) and oil filter at 6000k outside of Proton Service centre (dun wanna wait and labor expensive) and only go back there for 10K service.

Where's a good place in PJ to change this with original parts? Or should I just buy the parts from Proton? What else do i need? Sealing rings?

btw: My Myvi power window also got problem..sot-sot also...but it's after 10K...malaysia power window memang tak boleh pakai... doh.gif I miss my Sephia power window...7 years and tough as ever.

Try to add some lubricant (or WD40 they say), it might be still 'virgin' and hard. Or double check the power window wiring.

If I remember correctly, your Savvy should be still under warranty. Claim it fast. wink.gif

p/s: My Toyota LandcruiserII power window (15yrs) still working, but because it never move for some long long time, it moves very slow the '1st' few time... might be the same case, so lubricate it.

Bro...u think i'm mechanic meh...how to check wiring!!! Yeah, it's still under warranty, but i've a feeling they'll give some excuse like "spare part tadak" and make me wait for months. I dun think it's lubricant problem...looks suspiciously like the switch problem. since the other passenger switch can work.

Confirm, it's the switch problem..contact copper inside maybe loose or faulty...not the power windows motor problem.

It's a very easy to replace the module, the black controller sitting on the door panel/side armrest...just plug and play with some connectors and wires...go and ask for a replacement I'm pretty sure they have some stock which is easy to replace.

I dun have problems with my 2 year old plus Savvy...everyday use the power windows.

Added on January 18, 2008, 6:46 pmBuy from proton parts centre..every PESC main branch or EON main branches usually sell the ori parts to people...use ori if ur car still under warranty..so they won't have any excuse to void ur car warranty.

Forgot to add, the sealing ring or metal gasket or crush washer is for your drain pug on the oil sump...usually people complain oil leaking becos of this...the old sealing ring was never change..need to change as the old ring is crushed at certain torque hence the name...copper ring is not reusable cos it's soft..but the aluminium like in the pic ( but wrong size in the pic cos can't fit) if want to resuse the ring.

Usually outside workshop will wrap some white teflon tape around the drain plug thread to prevent leaking is the sealing ring is not changed...not a recommended practice, could spoilt the threads on the drain plug and oil sump..if use the tape you only leave evidence you'd serviced your car outside while under warranty.

Make sure your tires are sufficiently inflated to 190kPa Rear and 210kPa Front(Proton's recommendation).
If u want lower FC, u may try increase the pressure to 32psi rear and 34 psi front.
then u can reach 15km/l with ease rclxms.gif

Come on, a car getting the most fuel saving label in Malaysia Book of Record needs all this kind of percautions (like 2krpm upshift) to get 15km/L is a joke.

Matrix, if you haven't floored b4, just floored it just to exercise the engine. tongue.gif Also request the throttle body to be cleaned see if its help FC.

if u shift around 2k rpm, u will feel the car is very sluggish because our D4F engine's torque only reach the optimum level after 3k

The last i check some proton sales girl advertise in the star, I gave them a call and they are giving 8.5k discount for savvy. That means 41k for HL -8.5k works out around 33k. Promotion only for ML and HL. Lite don't have, maybe after BLM they'll start giving discount.

My guess is stock surplus. As BLM launch, those extra Savvy stocks will be cleared very slowly.

They should officially reduce 8.5k on Savvy, and force the crappy Viva to have interior 'face lift'.

No need to be like ah beng. Just after pay toll, floor ur pedal for 5 to 10 second is enough loh. The best to do this is during after new oil change.

For Toyota SC, every 5000km they clean throttle body along with the air filter. Since car now most use eletronic throttle control, better clean it.
