Well, a 1.5L Honda City saves more fuel than the 1.0L Kia Picanto ...

one use multi point injection and the other twin spark plugs per cylinder...the secret behind is more complete combustion for fuel efficiency.

Umm I don't think I got my answer yet ... coz I heard Honda City IDSI really save fuel, so I thought Jazz IDSI would too. Ok, one more time ... which has better FC?

There isn't any difference from bashing Japanese makes due to loosing the sales/popularity of their beloved Savvy - both are equally as bad.

Off-topic but an honest review on this thread:

shakehead.gif  Lucky you are honest enough. Otherwise, the whole thread will be like when someone complain genuine problems regarding Savvy, fanboy just indirectly ask you to fark off and ask you to buy Maybach or Ferarri. And when DBW is slow in response and they say "you still can't differentiate DBW and throttle cable?!?!"

Matrix, continue your contributions, regarding your Savvy & MyVi, the problems you faced and how you solved it.

i agree with you... but no-no to MyVi godlike comments lar, imo.

I got a question here:

What's the FC of Jazz IDSI compared to Savvy? Savvy menang or Jazz?
*
iDSi should win...
It can cover 26.2KMs/L which is around 7.3 cents/KM @ RM1.92/L petrol...
Savvy covers only 23.7 KMs/L which is around 8.1 cents/KM @ RM1.92/L petrol...

Marketing lah.....where can go 23.7Km/l or 26.2km/l under normal city driving. Those are very optimised figure...they probably drive like that guy in the Digi or Maxis ad...stop car engine roll downhill...start car engine go uphill....LOL.

Thanks dude. And i haven't even start an actual review of the Savvy coz i don't think it's fair to make comments on things like FC becoz car is still new and haven't burn in properly.

Still waiting for 1 tank of BHP to finish up after 1st service. But can feel engine is smoother after 1st service. nod.gif

Went to SC this afternoon after my class, they took my car and my self for test drive he personally says its no big thing. The clutch sound can be either from the spring or bearing. Driving like normal just that there's sound la when i press the clutch. He says if i really wanan make sure whats the problem tomorrow morning send to SC let them check. Any idea how much will they charge? he also added if can wait untill my first 1000KM. Currently mine runing at 600KM only.
*
There should be no charge for complain on defects, if they charge screw them kaw-kaw and threaten to write to media or say your father is the Star editor...LOL. But if it's not to loud or not too scary, you might wanna wait coz sending ur car to SC is a waste of time. I'll rather spend time doing something else.

About RM87.xx. Changed engine oil (Mach5), sealant ring, oil filter and viper washing liquid.

When u go for 1st service, tell them u want to use semi-synth oil and see what kinda response they give u, probably a different story from mine.

Btw, Proton-I-don't-give-a-fcuk still haven't reply to my enquiries regarding whether how semi-synth oil can void engine warranty. I'll give them one week before i take further actions...cannot let them go so easily.

Ya like keep blaming Proton for the fault of one customer service frontliner who didn't forward your complaints to the SC..if you prefer to be treated like a king, go buy a Maybach instead. The world does not revolve around you alone.

*
Personally, i think you're decent person going by the heaps of info you contribute at savoc (unlike that OTHER guy who does nothing but PRRFFFT), but your attitude is all wrong. This is not about being treated like a King. This is about CONSUMER POWER. Cars don't come cheap for Malaysian and it's this "tidak apa attitude" that makes Malaysia such a sucky unforward moving country...no point having 1st world infra when we've 3rd world mentality.

An indian friend (from India) once told me someone there sues the soap company becoz the soap didn't meet the specs in weight...and won.

I would also like to share some experience with you about being really treated like kings....i was in Denmark, Copenhagen (the city frankly looks lau-yah and nothing compared to the mega structures in KL). The flight was delayed that night and we were promptly whisked away by the flight steward to get some traveller packs, taxi coupons and send us to a nice hotel for another free night stay at ZERO cost (and i even used the hotel facility to surf web and send e-mails from my room which is chargeable).. The next morning, after a nice hefty buffet breakfast, we're whisked away in cabs using the coupons given to send us to the airport. And i wasn't even flying business class. If i'm stuck at KLIA due to a flight delay, i really doubt i can expect the same such service from MAS.

So do you want to be treat like kings or treat like dirt?? So you want to take it all because "biasa-lah, Proton bang!!" or do you want to make a change to be treated like a king?? Your call. whistling.gif

btw, remember to vote for the Opposition and make a change!!! brows.gif

The City travelled from the Honda Malaysia office Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The route took them up Cameron Highlands situated about 1,660 metres above sea level, and then to Bukit Merah, driving at an average speed of 80 km/h in a normal manner, ie having the air-conditioning switched on during the drive, and luggage and spare tyre on board. The drive back to Honda Malaysia took place after a night's rest. Meant to simulate conditions similar to a vacation trip with friends or family, each car had four occupants besides a boot full of items. Honda Malaysia also took it a step further by filling the many interior utility spaces and holders with water bottles and tit-bits for the occupants. All four team members were required to drive pre-determined legs of the event to better reflect the different driving styles of car owners.

While the Savvy travelled all the 11 states in Peninsular Malaysia and included a stint along the East-West Highway up north as well as the winding and mountainous East Coast Highway. The final stretch of 400 kms was from Kuantan to Segamat in Johor, before cutting across into the North-South Highway to return to Proton's head office complex in Shah Alam. It's not stated by Proton what the cruising speed was though we believe that it would have been reasonable and that the driver did not switch off the air-conditioner. Anyway, the entire drive was followed by an independent witness (motoring journalist Albakry Salehuddin) who was satisfied with the manner in which it was done.

A point to note:
The Savvy used was a manual while the City's an auto... sweat.gif

Also forgot to mention, CITY is what...40K more expensive??

Let's see, that means you save 1cents per km with City over Savvy( 7cents/km to 8 cents/km)...say u travel 25,000km a year..that makes..25,000 x 1 cents=RM250/year. So, say you use the car for 10 years...that saves you a grand total of RM2500...in 10 YEARS.

If you put 40k in bank at 3% interest per annum, by the end of 10 years, you get RM52,190.

Err...which option do you think is more $$$ saving? smile.gif

Not that i'm saying Honda City is bad...but comparing this too is just way out of league. Of course, if you're going to buy a car in almost same price range as Honda City ( say a Waja at 6xk, or a VIOS around the same price), then the FC saving of the City will plays a very important factor.(btw, i do like the City very much....in fact, much more than a VIOS or all the Proton Sedans).

Anyway, unless you're a frequent highway traveller, the savings is also much less...I don't see any real Savvy owners can even achieve close to those figures. So far my Savvy is around 14km/l...which i consider quite good for city driving already....hopefully it'll improve after a few more thousand km as the car is still new.

When buy 2nd hand car...the condition of the car is more important than color. You pick the best condition car and can paint it purple if you like later.
laugh.gif

btw, after driving the Savvy for 1 week plus...compared to Myvi...the pick up is not as good as Myvi 1.3. Myvi still rules supreme in pick up power and engine quietness. You don't have to rev as hard to get the same speed and Myvi just get there faster than the Savvy. Also, when going uphill with full load, i can feel the Myvi got loads of oomp raring to accelerate even at 5th gear when i hit over 60km/h. With full load and uphill, the Savvy can feel losing power and not accelerating unless i press the pedal hard.

Of course, handling Savvy rules supreme...have some fun in the hilly areas before you reach the Mall (dunno what u call that hill...can link to Bank Negara also)...turn left and right very quickly and laugh at the Iswara behind trying to keep up. laugh.gif
*
Have to agree with this wink.gif

the hill you mentioned is Bukit Tunku..

Savvy's handling is very very keng but still can't beat MyVi in terms of power + quietness biggrin.gif

Still bearable at the moment and it isn't that loud, but annoying enough.....but really dissapointed with the quality....i don't have a single problem with my Myvi after 6 months, no noise, no weird vibration......P2 owns Ploton anyday in quality. Well, at least lucky for me, none of the problems are major....sweat.gif....

I think i know where the noise came from..

Have you checked your gear knob?? My frens car always have this irritating noise so whenever i drive his car with a chick inside i have to hold the gear to prevent the noise..

but now i have fixed it edi..add some super glue..walaa biggrin.gif

I don't think it's the knob...sounds more like plastic or maybe windows?? It doesn't always happen though, i think at low gears more like likely, after car is smooth and at maybe > 70km/h, i don't hear it. I think it happens more often when i accelerate and change gear at low speed (gear 1 to 3).

Still i'll just check out the knob just in case....knob looks sturdy and solid though... hmm.gif

My friend's Savvy also have this same kind of problem...

His car is already near to 2 years old..but only managed to clock 305++ kilometres..

Every morning when i wanted to start the car, it took me around 2-3 times turning the key till the engine starts..I have off everything (a/c, radio)..and it also jerks @ 2nd gear if speed below 20km/h..

And just now when i parked the car b4 playing football, i noticed that the a/c fan didn't stop even though i have off everything...it took almost 5-7 minutes for the fan to switch off..any reason why this happen??

fyi, the car has undergone a major 'surgery' bcoz the engine jammed..my friend seldom uses his car, only drives it on weekend..and he never warm the engine every morning so the engine oil become so thick...Went for repair @ his friend w/shop to replace the cable plug, spark plug and cam..cost him around RM700 sweat.gif The cable plug itself cost around RM450 shocking.gif

Then the gear knob is not the source of the problem..maybe you should find someone with ultra sensitive ears to find the source of the noise then laugh.gif tongue.gif

Yeah...heard loads of this jerking crap issue. Mostly due to TB dirty...if not must be one of the sensors...TDC, O2, and a few other sensors. I sure hope i won;t have to face it...sweat.gif

I believe u refer to the ignition coil. That's a common problem with Savvy....should cost around RM380. But i got 5 years warranty... brows.gif

I think u should warm up ur engine at least 30 seconds every morning before u move the car. Also, leaving a car long while without using is bad...your friend should change the oil even before it's interval because it should be 3 months or 5000km interval (or 6 months or 10000km interval)....since the car is not used much, must change the oil even if the mileage interval is not reached.

My myvi haven't use for 3 days (over 2 very cold rainy days) and i have problem starting it on 3rd day.

Walao eh..RM380 for an ignition coil?? Will it do any further damages to the engine if i don't change it?? There's some1 told me it's the starter problem..

btw wat is TB? TDC? O2? Sorry for the noobiness blush.gif

Me and my fren normally warm up the car more than 30 seconds..usually we waited until the temp to 2 bar before moving..

Wat's the cause for the ignition coil to damage easily?? Is it becoz we start the engine w/out switching off the a/c + radio first or wat??
