Few question to Savvy owners:
(1) Do you follow the 10,000km maintenance schedule or do u do earlier? It seems like most if not all Renault engine cars recommended for 10,000km intervals....however, as some of u might know, in Bolehland we use imported cheap plak petrol while Petronas dig all the high-grade good stuff and sell it overseas. The P1 salesman even share with me story of a certain Benz model which use diesel but fails in our market as too much problem due to cheap dirty diesel that don't meet standards. It's more likely ur oil filter, engine and everything else will get dirty faster due to low grade petrol (regardless of which petrol station). So in that sense, can we trust the 10,000km interval recommended which is base on good petrol in the west...? (2) The salesman also tell me it uses "normal" engine oil. So what is normal? Mineral or Semi-synth?? What engine oil does P1 gives for ur service? btw, just to share some funny story: The other day i was test driving a Savvy at one showroom...u know what, the gear knob is missing. So i ask salesman what happened....it seems like a lot of potential "customers" are actually petty thieves who took off small-small item from the car....so they simpan all the small removable items from the car.... |

QUOTE(Matrix @ Jul 17 2007, 12:41 PM) Few question to Savvy owners: Yes normal lah they took out small stuffs like the gear knob..it's not made of cheap plastic, it's quite heavy and dense.(1) Do you follow the 10,000km maintenance schedule or do u do earlier? It seems like most if not all Renault engine cars recommended for 10,000km intervals....however, as some of u might know, in Bolehland we use imported cheap plak petrol while Petronas dig all the high-grade good stuff and sell it overseas. So i ask salesman what happened....it seems like a lot of potential "customers" are actually petty thieves who took off small-small item from the car....so they simpan all the small removable items from the car.... Normal oil means mineral oil...I've been using Petronas Mach 5 since day 1 (EON used this oil want to fulfil a quota or something, comes in normal pack of 3 litres and 1 litre (itemised in bill statement)..not from big tong..so fat extended my OCI to 10 000km no problem BUT now I feel it's better to change it a 5000km cos it's very cheap to change more frequent, only below RM60 for 4 litres... it's better to use mineral oil and change it every 5k than using synthetic oil and extend the usage to 10k km due to cost reason and if you want cleaner engine...Mineral oil is better in dissolving soot and dirt...some people even use mineral oil to flush their engine. My history of oil change 1000km - started using mach 5 from SC 5000km - changed oil outside, didn't change filter, cos not confident the oil will last 10k km. 10000km - SC 20000km - SC, 1 30000km -SC No problem with my car, now 38k km gives good power and mileage(FC)...Mach 5 is not a bad oil...but when I first got my car, the salesman told me my savvy used "expensive oil" straight from the factory, probably fully synthetic one. Based on the service booklet, it's recommended to change oil filter every 20k km but since the oil filter is very cheap, everyone's changing it at 10km when doing oil change. |

There's also a 3K discount for STD version...meaning RM37K for Manual version...but i think offer ends this month...next month will become permanent price...LOL.Anyway, it's only 3K+ than bare naked 33K+Savvy. Still considerable especially if u want alloy rims, alarm, spoiler and power windows. The other stuff are quite cheap me thinks. At least if u buy STD u get warranty for those above items. If u passang ur own alarm, reverse sensor, power window blah-blah...later got problem, no warranty...worst if some other problem, then they said u modified ur car and screwed up their wiring...no warranty.....quite risky. Top range(highline) is still around RM42 to RM43K with the 3K discount.
Std range drops to 36/37K from 39/40K. But the promotion ends this month...supposely lar...maybe next month that'll be the standard price for STD and Hi-Line. I can see Proton quote "Due to overwhelming response to the Savvy Hi-line and STD last month, Proton is now making this price permanent to pass the benefits to all our loyal customers!! Plus you'll get vouchers to drink coffee at our Service Centres!!! ".....hee..hee. |

No ler friend. Hi range is still 42/43K (already discounted price). Before discount is 45/46k. Sorry if i didn't state too clearly. Anyway, if u bought Myvi 1.3 okay mah. If 1st car, the extra space will become handy. If i only buy one car, i won't consider Savvy at all coz just too small. For 2nd car can consider lor. It's either i'm gonna book a Savvy or a Viva by end of this month.... This post has been edited by Matrix: Jul 25 2007, 04:17 PM |

QUOTE(jVIPERs2 @ Jul 25 2007, 05:04 PM) I think you'll get bash very soon from hypermount and azuma, our local proton fanboyz....Anyway, I do believe the AMT is 5 speed...after all, it's just a ROBOT inside doing the clutching for ya. It's still very much a manual car. It's also written in the specs...try download their brochure. And lastly, i think Proton made a mistake in their website....website also no QC wan.... |
