I'm not a fan of the dashboard layout, with that said. The car looks like a well kitted piece of machinery. Many class 1st to make a very impressive splash into the already crowded C-segment.

Price it right and I'm certain this will be the market leader again.

Yes and no really. Replacing the current Forte since it won't be released anymore after clearing the stocks. No because the specs and dimension is a huge upgrade from current Forte.

HI all, why dun you guys download the K3 brochure from KIA global website?
The specifications are 95% same with malaysia spec, except those 10 choices of paint color, and 4 choices of leather seat color...
I got it more than half year ago....

here you go:
Click me --> Cerato K3

I planned to get a FORTE 14 months ago, and i got the news of K3 will be launching in Korea in the near future, so i gave up the FORTE plan, and keep waiting for my dream car K3... unitl now... hahahha...

I'm proud to say that I had a "test drive" of K3(1.6) in Korea for 3 days... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

*I meant I rent a K3 in Korea for 3 days few months ago....

IT IS SO NICE AND VERY AUDI FEEL because of its rear lamp.... especially in night time...
many thanks to ex-audi designer....

here is some photo i took in Korea: K3 is everywhere in Korea, and Korea is Kia's Heaven with many nice design of car like K7, K9, Pro'ceed which nvr bring in to malaysia..

the interest rate will follow the normal new car loan rate. 1.68% is only applicable for forte as this is the promotional rate. I did checked out the new cerato yesterday at my local SC. the build is very solid. interior nicely done. i got 2.37% interest for 7 years loan provided with good financial record. smile.gif

it is ambank.....the interest is quoted by the SA. Basically i prefer the 1.6 meter panel compare to 2.0. The analog gasoline and temp meter looks good together with the speedo and tacho meter. besides, of course the 4.3" LCD looks nice, but i doubt will it be hard to read under bright light? and the screen is to display car info, so i think the dot matrix will provide clearer view of info for faster reading.

Judging from my previous experience buying the Forte 2.0, it took more than 4 months from the launching date to actually get the car (the Forte 2.0) though the SA told me (that time) that i will get it in less than 2 months time. Worth to mention that i booked that car before the launching date. Those who booked the Forte 1.6 last time managed to get the car in about 2-3 weeks after the launching date (in CBU form)

I hope that NazaKia learned some lesson regarding that past experience & deliver the Cerato 2.0 as soon as possible by stocking it up earlier prior to launching.

If I gt cerato, I would change the front grille from fish net style to after market design.

I think Inspira 2.0 is more worth of money, can save nearly 25k

Unless someone saw this car (Cerato 2.0) at Port Klang or at NazaKia factory/stockyard by now, i'm also really doubtful. Last time, no Forte 2.0 in the showroom for the whole Malaysia except the only 1 red colored unit that NazaKia purposely brought in from Korea during launching. In another words, i booked my car last time without ever seeing the actual car, let alone to test drive it sweat.gif

From pictures from FB, some showrooms do get the 2.0..

I went to 2 different showrooms in Penang, both SA told me the same thing, if i were to book and apply loan now, by end of the month will get the 2.0
Well hopefully it's not those sweettalk..

New mazda 3 for sure. Cerato not even close to new Altis. You guys should wait more model to come out and compare. If I have to buy now, Ford focus is much better in terms of driving pleasure and handling.
Forte can sell is because its competitive pricing, now they want to sell same pricing of their C seg car with other brands, huge mistake

Accessories alone will not sell a car. A car is both an impulse purchase and smart purchase. Looks, engine, accessories, car characteristics all come into play.

If the Mazda 3 does not have from the Cerato:
Rear view camera
Auto seat adjust
HID lamps
EPS with Flexsteer
Smartkey & push button
LCD cluster meter
LED lights
Smart welcome thing

I will still consider it. Skyactiv engine in a package that looks that good is so hard to ignore.

so, everyone is anticipating that the new Altis and new Mazda 3 will be around RM120K with similar specs as 2.0 Cerato? currently Mazda 3 2.0 CKD highend HB model already RM126K OTR without insurance and look at the latest Mazda 6 and it is the most well equipped car; no doubt but it's also the most expensive in japs D-segment.. honda city also already approaching RM93k la....if Bermaz is selling the latest CKD Mazda 3 1.5 at 120K and Mazda 3 2.0 at RM14+K...still worth?

dont get me wrong as i own a shitty as well...but sometime as in reality, must see what is nice-to-have and must-have.. IMO, safety feature is something must have and cannot be add-on later....

Safety wise, Kia has always been rather generous. Only question is, is it the right time to bring the fight to Japanese (pricing) grounds?

As for the car, the Cerato is one of the best made Asian cars around. Spec, build quality, NVH is excellent. The only areas a conti is superior is the steering feedback and suspension set-up, IMHO. The furor that has a lot of people getting pissed is they were probably expecting the old Forte price with slight increase, not a double digit jump. Still, I think this car will still sell.

Very well written review. Should the new Mazda 3 realeasing a hybrid modal, it could be a head-to-head contender in terms of same segment and price point (assuming conventional petrol engine selling at a premium).

Not at all. Comfortable, in fact since its suspension is relatively soft. It would get a little floaty at speeds of 170kph and above.

True indeed, maz3 1.5 seems very weak on paper, cant hope much also, and current 1.6 over 100K OTR, even women also complaint about the non-responsive characteristic... It may sell higher than current 1.6...

NazaKia SC gives good service to me for 3 years+ already. I've sending my car to at least 5 different SC at KL, Selangor & Kedah..all thumbs up i have to say.

Several times went to Toyota SC sending my father's Vios for service, nothing special about Toyota SC actually..& nothing to shout about.

NazaKia SC service is on par with Toyota SC if not better in this case..that's on my own observation.

Try it to believe it brows.gif

No plan to bring in the Cerato Koup at this point in time. If the price goes above 140K, people would rather buy Optima K5.

Went and test the cerato yesterday. Few question would like to ask the sales person or the future owner.

You know the electric seat ? It acually move back when u stop the engine. It will move back to original position when u start the engine.

Ok here are the few things I noticed.

1. Say im a short person. I need to step on the brake to start the engine. Problem is the seat is all the way back.

2. Say im a tall person. Im sitting at the back seat. I have to go down first before the driver first?

Hi, i have test the cerato yesterday too..

1. actually the seat is just slightly move backward for ease of drive to get out or get into the car. (not move until the end)

2. the leg room of rear passenger seat is quite spacious. i sit at the back of driver seat when i fren having his test drive. i din't feel any discomfort when i get in or get out from the car. im 175cm.

correct me i'm wrong.

*if not remember wrong, after the driver stop the engine, the seat will not move backward until he open the door.

that's y i said the leg room is quite spacious, it is okay for me after the driver seat move backward.

have no idea of 180cm passenger, maybe u can ask a 180cm height friend to go for a ride... hahaha

About this, i think that is abit redundant too. When the agent introduce this feature, the first question i asked is where is the switch to turn it off? the agent told me, there is no switch... doh.gif doh.gif

Naza should offer a strip down version and lower the price by more than RM10k, then i'm sure it'll sell like hot cakes. not everyone can/will appreciate the added features. Malaysian buyers are already used to the bare features of Japanese cars.

Not bad and get surprise for the features for 2.0... especially for the seat of adjustment. It will auto turn back when you open the door which is u guys discussing early posted. This is just for my personal view.

I disagree with your statement...the thing is, we should not accept that we are ok to have something lesser than anybody else in this world. why japs car treat us like this... 2 air bags? no extra safety features? safety should be the no.1 we should consider... what I'm trying to say is... we should buy something that value for our money.. not to spend our money on the arrogant Japanese manufacturer.. cause they think the owned the market.

but you have to think in the context of the majority of Malaysian car buyers. japanese cars are still the yardstick. whatever features that's not in Japanese cars, they'll be nice to have but not necessary loh

When korean cars have all the latest gizmos and features where as an owner will appreciate, those anti koreans will says, sucks lar, expensive lar, cheap lar, over priced lar, easy to spoil lar, etc.

When japanese cars is fitted with the gadgets found in korean cars, all those fans suddenly says, fuyoh, damn good ler, value for money (even though it's like rm20k more or rm30k more than kimchi), reliable lar, etc.

If kia cerato have launch this car and fitted with a T or H logo, guess nobody will complain.

I must says, show me any car, b segment or C segment car below rm100k that can compete with kia cerato in terms of build quality, soft touch material, gadgets, 5 star safety, etc.

For a family looking for a C segment who values safety, comfort, 5 years warranty, this car seems a logical choice if you are not brand bias.

The sales statistics for Forte showed otherwise. EX basic spec only sell about 15-20% compared to SX spec which sell 80-85%. That is why NAZA decided to only offer the SX variant this time.

those mentality that focus on resell value belongs to the older generation. The new generation now mostly buy the car 'THEY WANT'. Not buying a car that minimize lost.

the trend is changing that is why there are a population of people who will defend and give positive comment on 'kimchi' car now.

Look back about 10 years, not a single soul will defend and compliment a korean car. But now the trend is shifting and more people does not play safe anymore or rather say, no longer cheapskate anymore.

the new generation will buy the stuff they like and love.

Those are just people perception. Actually, all cars brand does not has second hand value nowaday. People who buy vios in early this year 2013, will lost at least 10K after 6 months because toyota are running promotion discount of 10K for vios (just to clear old stock and preparing for new incoming vios model).

My friend honda city less than 3 years, lost 30++K due to new model. Mean each year he suffer 10K++ lost.

Car Models are coming out fast nowaday and crazy discount are throwing out everywhere, how can we expect cars still has good RSV.

IMHO, just buy what car you like, do not too concern on the RSV.

I agree when it comes to resale value, nothing beat T&H or even proton or perodua.

Life is too short to worry about resale value as car is always a liability unless you are into classic cars where appreciation does happen. Then again, classic car, you will be looking at contis and never jap nor kimchi.

What matters most, is your own affordability and what is your priority when purchasing a car. Is it snob value,is it performance, is it features, is it space, price point, good warranty, ease of servicing, etc.

Till the days when our motor policy liberate, guess resale value will still be a major concern among buyers as compared to other developed country where car is dirt cheap and you don't need to take 9 years loan just to get a perodua/proton.

why everyone is so obsessed abt RV when come to choosing which cars to buy?...u all didnt think of ur family members that u will ferry in the car? IMO, safety always come first as i am a father and it is not fair for me and my wife to be protected by airbags while my child sitting behind has nothing for protection...surprisingly, alot of ppl willing to spend alot on family insurances, medical cards, children education funds or fixed expensive house alarm, fixed grills at home for protection and when come to choose which cars to buy...always choose RV first, safety second...

Not to offend anyone, if u worry about RV; it is clearly u are not in the state to buy that car...seriously, i once asked a 7-series owner...will he feels butthurt when he decided to sell his almost a million 7 series after 7-8 yrs...he just smiled and said...work harder to make money to cover the loses la...must looking forward mah... rolleyes.gif

Totally agree.

I will never buy a new car that has less than 6 airbags irrespective of its high resale value, good after sales service, cheap spare parts, low fuel consumption or what not. Protecting your love ones should be anyone's priority ! Any car brands which are still providing 2 airbags have no regards for human lives !

Can't agree more. Safety should be a primary concern over RV. Besides, RV for Kia has improved for the recent generation of new models, and I believe it will continue to be so. With better quality, coupled with 5 years warranty by the manufacturer, even 2nd hand owners will appreciate these newer models and are willing to pay more. Market perception over Korean cars has improved, and it will be a question of when, and not if, the RV for Korean cars will be equal to that of the Japanese. wish.gif

Yeh, airbags should not be the only safety feature, but they are the "final protection" between the car occupants and the possible harm. Airbags should not be skimmed to 2 just to cut cost. I would rather have fabric seats and have 6 airbags then to have only 2 airbags with leather seats (or cruise control or sunroof or paddle shift control or other gimmicks/gadgets)

the focus was on the sporty handling side and firmer ride. cerato is slightly softer and bodyroll slightly more..but nevertheless both are still good cars. go test and decide ur poison as different people have different preference. som like softer ride, some like harder ride laugh.gif

The sales statistics for Forte showed otherwise. EX basic spec only sell about 15-20% compared to SX spec which sell 80-85%. That is why NAZA decided to only offer the SX variant this time.
*
I thought RV for Forte is quite good...? 2 year old Forte still sells around 60k for used unit... Most of the SA i've met and asked, they told me RV for Forte is quite good right..?

And definitely SX model is more worth it for the Forte model.

It's central console is par with mazda 6, both way too ugly. LOL

Until new Altis coming, I think new mazda 3 console represent latest design, clean and stylish.

Honda civic is worst. Follow by cerato, then ford focus.

The center console and dash board design depends on personal taste. Some like it flashy with multi tiered, some like it simple and uncluttered, with clean lines.

According to KIA, the Cerato dashboard design is "Reminiscent of Nature's Beauty Made up of Driver-centric layout and a flowing motif of natural shapes and design." If you see the the 3 curvy lines on the passenger dash as well as on the front door trim, the design is inspired by the shape of the curves on seashell. Well there you go, in case you are wondering what's that all about....

Yes the brochure had indicate the curve towards the driver, still, it is not nice, screen display is too small, the digital screen is not up to par, especially this is a new model.

Yes, for the new generation of KIA models, including Forte, RV has improved quite significantly. Lots of used car dealers are willing to offer higher trade-in price for Forte as there is a strong demand in the used-car market. It's really all about supply and demand.

Well, that won't shut the haters up but its good to know there are ppl that appreciates the simplistic design of the interior.

Just like to know u Buydirect, assuming the earliest batch of Cerato coming in for sale in show room, what would be the likely Wilayah running number plate? WYR or WYS? Do you know how often they update from one to the other?

Thanks!

The JPJ number running series is now WYQ. On average each series takes about 7-8 working days to complete its course. Since we are close to Raya and assuming the trend of more people getting new cars for the upcoming festive holidays, I would say, the change may only take about 5-6 days. As such, if you have your Cerato loan approved and having settled your down payment with your SA, you should be able to register with WYR plate by next week. If your SA is fast enough, you may even get WYQ. This is assuming that there is no hiccup in the registration process with JPJ, since this is entirely an all new model. Good luck!

Are the stock tires good? I think it's Nexen CP643A. If the stock tires are not that good, then 1st thing should be changing tires (safety is the highest priority) which should be together with balancing and alignment smile.gif

Service interval should be every 10k km provided that u use the fully syn engine oil

Regarding service cost, for Cerato 1.6, i believe it should be more or less the same with the Forte 1.6 becoz the Cerato use the same but upgraded Gamma Engine (on Forte 1.6). Please go to Forte thread (first post), i did tabulate the service cost comparison in that thread.

For Cerato 2.0, the service cost should be at the same range as the Optima K5 because both cars use the same Nu engine if i'm not mistaken. For the exact cost, i dont have it unless for Forte 2.0 (Theta engine) in which u can find it at Forte thread also wink.gif

Kindly go to Forte thread. On the first post got some common but useful information (checklist, FAQ, SC list..etc).

From my experience with NazaKia SC, u can ask them to do tire alignment & balancing for free for the first 2k km thumbup.gif

If u read Forte thread from the beginning, u will notice that the testimonial is everywhere..proven tongue.gif Just complaint about your car misalignment & request the SC to do wheel alignment + balancing. Make sure they put your complaint on the job sheet during servicing or else the technician wont do it. Actually SC Manager (Selayang SC) did confirm about this (free wheel alignment & balancing for the first 2k km) when we (myForteClub) organised TT there. I believe this should applies to all NazaKia new cars

The test drive units will be rolled out soon. Naza is preparing those test drive units with proper attractive STICKERS on the cars first before loading out to the respective outlets. All these test drive units will be in CLEAR WHITE color only.

Well, most outlets can only afford to own one unit for test drive, and that's going to be 1.6L variant for obvious reason.

well, it fitted with what i amazed is
1)motor steering where u can choose which type u prefer (light, normal, heavy-sport)...light one really too light... not used to it but good for parking.

2) memory seat and the control really nice. enjoy playing with it (sorry im kinda outdated). will auto adjust behind to ease ur exit when u open ur door.

3)welcome light

4) cooler compartment for u to keep drink

5) engine part, i cant tell coz only manage to drive to 70-80 near my area only. but quiet inside.

downside is
1) no gps.
2) media screen too small, not like latest forte.
3) steering full of buttons where i need to take times to study.

alot complain about the dashboard and i think its kinda old design too..sad.

yesterday i went to naza kg baru to have a look at cerato.

available cars in the showroom were cerato 2.0, sorento, forte, pug 3008 & 508.

no test-drive (i wouldn't want a TD during lunch hour, kg baru, remember?)

imo, cerato +pts:
1. nice fittings
-small gap, plastic "banana leaf"
2. nice gadgets
-plenty of lamp/light inside
3. nice headlight & tailight.
4. ingress & egress was good.
-hahaha..my head banged the a-pillar of 3008 while getting on it.

-pts:
1. poor enclosure of the steering wheel adjustment lever.
-i can see how the metal working inside. i love to see how the linkages works, but i dont like dust to settle therein.
2. small HUD.
-i thought preve's is smaller, but cerato's isn't big either..
3. smaller back seat?
-i believe forte's is better.
4. seat at lowest position not so "racy"
-well, this is just my preference, i believe chevy orlando & aveo have better highest & lowest seat position.
5. that kind of dashboard looks outdated.
-driver oriented? meh..look at pug3008, that is driver oriented.
6. ah..it is more quiet in 3008 rather than in cerato.
7. near the rear screen, the c-pillar inside panel wasn't properly fitted

cukup la tu..

weh, yg lampu kt outside door handle tu, mmg utk pintu depan je ke? dlm iklan ada 4. smlm perasan 2 jek depan, blkg xde welcome light tu?

well, it fitted with what i amazed is
1)motor steering where u can choose which type u prefer (light, normal, heavy-sport)...light one really too light... not used to it but good for parking.

On the media screen, it is 4.3 inch TOUCH SCREEN TFT-LCD display. If you remember the first batch of Forte that came, it was also a small screen, but without touch screen and without color. Yes, it lacks a GPS & DVD player, on the positive side, it leaves some room for some after-market upgrades to keep the economy going ..... biggrin.gif

The other display is the 4.2 Inch TFT LCD cluster for the driver. For the 2.0, it comes in color, for 1.6 it is dot matrix. You will find much useful information about the car here.

This Cerato is very tempting i must say, but i have to skip on this becoz my Forte is just 3 years+ in age & still proud to drive it until now. Will wait for the next gen K5 or perhaps the next gen Rondo since family members keep growing tongue.gif

Hopefully Euro 4 fuel will be introduced by next year as planned by our G. Eager to wait the real Turbo-diesel car to reach our shore thumbup.gif

Yes, for the new generation of KIA models, including Forte, RV has improved quite significantly. Lots of used car dealers are willing to offer higher trade-in price for Forte as there is a strong demand in the used-car market. It's really all about supply and demand.

For Forte last time, after the initial launching, the waiting list is about 4 months only..not 6 months & that applies to Forte 2.0 only. People who book Forte 1.6 get their cars within weeks after launching. But if we talk about Kia (Forte) Koup, yes..the waiting list is that long last time

After more than 3 years owning a Forte, i must say that NazaKia SC & after sales service is improving day by day. On my first year (2010), no such call (follow up call) after sending my car for the scheduled service (or complaints). Starting from 2011/2012 if i'm not mistaken, they (NazaKia) really did a follow up call after any complaints or service at their SC to make sure that customer satisfied with their service. In my place (Alor Setar), NazaKia SC also keen enough to provide shuttle service to send & fetch me to or from my office (while waiting for my car to be serviced). Thumbs up to their good after sales service thumbup.gif

cerato 2.0 is using hyundai's latest engine series...NU engine with CVVL and 1 thing which i think is a must...steering mounted paddle shifter which i think is very good.. u can change gears (if needed) anytime without lifting ur hands out from holding the steering...cars like Lancer or inspira is steering rack mounted which u cannot shift while cornering..

For any new car, you should observe the break-in period for the first 1000 Km. There are a few things you should not do during the break-in period

1) Do not overspeed. That means to say, go slow and steady and don't drive excessively fast. Perhaps below 90 km/hr is good

2) No sudden acceleration and/or sudden braking. Basically, do not let your rpm go up too high.

Although most new engines are now built tougher and more robust compared to the older generation ones, it is better to observe this simple tradition when driving a brand new car. KIA does not specifically advice on this matter in the owner's manual either.

one thing that is consistent in all the info i hv read so far, is no cruising on highway at a constant speed (sigh... was planning to drive to KL with the car.)

here's another piece bout this topic
http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-t...ak-in-a-new-car

this piece
http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm
however claim that we should floored the pedal... of course not at a constant speed and gear. he suggested to accelerate n decelerate, for each 2nd gear till 4th gear.

i think the main question here is, is the engine a newly assembled engine? i think if it is a newly assembled engine, maybe the flooring method is correct? while for new car, like some articles mention, the engine hv been broken-in by the manufacturer b4 being put into the car, and thus babying it is the correct way to break it in?

this is my theory... any opinions?

oic..i suppose it is waterproof hence the water logging issue..the SC claim they have suck all the water out but unfortunately im not there to see the whole repair process..

6l/100km or below is good rclxms.gif i read the australia motoring, its 5.5 for highway and 6.8 for mix driving...in actual testing. so it is actually not bad. previous Gamma engine's FC was questioned in USA for untrue FC numbers.
I am drivng 120km a day on highway. so FC has to be good. nod.gif

i believe some cars can.... australia cerato review looks promising..rated at (L/100km): 7.4 but real life drive is below. wonder what fuel they used...

Geared to minimise fuel consumption, the Cerato’s transmission sees the tachometer’s needle rest at 1900 revs at 100km/h. And with lower revs equating to lower fuel use, the Cerato managed an around town average of 7.9L/100km and a highway tally of 5.2. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

if u compare with overseas cars like US, korea, the fuel consumption its wont be the same because, they drive the car without the AC on. The only time they use the AC is during summer time. This is why oversea car always get better fuel consumption than us.

I got my Golden Beat Cerato 1.6 from BuyDirect yesterday! The whole experience was a good one, with him assisting me all the way through until the delivery of the car, in which he spent time explaining the functions of the car to me, even though it's past his working/closing time. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to buy a KIA smile.gif

Test drove Cerato today!! tested at glenmarie. too bad the road was short, due to insurance purpose..the road allowed is 5km only..sad...

love the car...find the steering abit like longgar sometimes...and got once i turn lightly with fingers, it like over assisted and turn extra on its own. lolz... i have the maintenance schedule plus price with me, will upload later.

1)the lady said 4th year warranty is by insurance company, here said its by KIA directly for 5 years. anyone want to confirm?

2) mileage shows 17.5 km /liter or 5.8 l/100km... which is not bad.. i tekan tekan to force the reading go down also went down 17.2km/liter.. notbad rclxm9.gif

Interest rate of 1.68%/1.88% for Forte is heavily subsidized by Naza Kia Sdn Bhd. That's why. But for Cerato, there is no such campaign as the car is just newly launched.

By the way, since this question is directed to me, I wonder why someone else is replying this question on my behalf, as if to portray that he is me, or working with me. Just want to put in record and clarify that other 'SA' is not the same and has nothing to do with my Buydirect LYN account.

Recently there are many customers who ask about the 6 airbags in the Kia Cerato. The airbags are extremely important safety feature that save life. So I believe by showing the following photos of the airbags deployment will help people to understand better how it protect the occupants in the car during an accident.

Am from Kuching by the way. I also saw the cars when the 1st batch of cars arrived at Naza Kuching and other dealers last week and all has "Euro Spec" chalk written on the windscreen. And all the stickers are in koreans and the car battery also original korean battery. The SA told me all are CBU. The shipment is Korea-KL-Sabah-Sarawak...thats why here we always last one to get it. blink.gif

It is always to service your car early b4 the stated service mileage or date (usually in months). Or else, some SCs may waive the free labour charge if you exceed the stated mileage or date.

*
CBU - Completely Built-Up (or fully imported)
CKD - Completely Knocked-Down (or local assembly)
S-KD - Semi Knocked Down ( very little assembly like doors, head lamps and rear combination lamps)

Cerato is on S-KD basis, as there is no AP involved.
It would not be feasible to do CBU for Cerato and to commit high volume, as government has limitation on issuance of AP (approved Permit) for obvious reasons.

Hope my message helps.

The 5 years warranty coverage is quite comprehensive, from engine, gear box to electronic. The list of item covered in the warranty is long too. Only wear & tear parts which require replacement at certain point of time are not cover.

I got my Cerato 1.6 on 18/7 and started driving on 20/7(Saturday) till now (just six days). Today I found that there are some water dripping in front of the car after drove about 10 mins and stop.I on the air-con at about 25 degrees while driving. Called the service center and the Malay lady told that it's normal, it's not a problem. She said it's air-con water and it happens to all cars, her car also has water dripping after on the air-con. She kept emphasized that" this is NOT a problem and it's normal" and sounds a bit unhappy to this stubborn customer who insisted this is a problem. She also mentioned that I should go during weekday and not weekend for checking, weekend only for car service but not checking due to the festival season.

Does anyone of you having this 'normal' problem? >0<

On the water that dripped from the front of your car, that's actually from the aircon due to condensation. Just like the aircon at your house, you have a PVC pipe to drain off the water, it's exactly the same for your car.

Some infor from internet for you.

add me as kia cerato owner here :

1.6 red colour

WYR XXXX - manage to get my ride on 13th July 2013.. icon_rolleyes.gif 2.46% - 9 years

No promo /free gift.. sweat.gif since the stock quite limited (SA tell me - don't know true or not..). 500 cerato first batch before Hari Raya..already +- 800-1k people book/register interest..he gave me 300 raytech tint voucher but not using it - since cheaper deal in online coupon website (groupon etc.)

Already done 1st service..now 13XX km already..superb NVH after service.. fuel consumption quite okay..7.6-7.7litre/ 100km (+- 13km/ litre) 50% highway/50% city ride but minimum traffic jam..

Problem :

Nexen CP632a -> ordinary tyre..i've get used to continental/michelin before..recently found out stock tyre quite noisy after 1k run in..if have budget need to change to comfort/performance tyre.. sweat.gif if have $$ probably trade in stock tyre (please recommend to me - shop that allow trade in new tyre, wanna take GY eagle f1 asym 2:sweat: see jalan kapar offering 450 per donut sweat.gif ) anybody sell cheap Gy Eagle f1 please pm me thumbup.gif

No warning if you fogot to switch off the lamp when locking the car/no autolock (can this be enabled in SC/control menu?) i haven't read the thick manual yet.. rclxub.gif

front passenger seat do not have electrical seat as of driver seat..perhaps NAZA allow us to upgrade the seat to full-electrical seat as well. The seat is quite low..quite hard to see things under front hood.. doh.gif luckily have front sensor.. + adding sat nav will be good as well

Sorry for late response. Dripping water (on the floor) from the aircond system (due to condensation) is completely normal. It's a nature's law. But if the water dripping from somewhere else (especially from the radiator) or water dripping into the passenger compartment, i agree that it doesn't sound normal.

You can turn the headlamp to auto mode as it equipped with sensor. So no need worry about forgot to turn off headlamp. It will auto turn off it self after you turn off engine and lock the dock.

Usually NazaKia SC did not practice that (bring own engine oil). Better use their recommended engine oil as to preserve the 5-year warranty smile.gif

Yupp..no alarm/buzzer sounds when forgot to turn off the headlight while exiting the car. But anyway, the headlight will be turned off automatically as soon as we open the car's door. This applies to Forte & i strongly believe that the Cerato should also behave the same

The right term to use is S-KD (semi Knock down) and not CBU (Completely built-up) as CBU is 100% imported and require AP (Approved Permit) for shipment.
Yes S-KD is still available if you place your order now, as the order list/queue is building up.

If u guys plan to book your cars in Penang, avoid NASA Greenlane branch at all cost.

My friend booked his k3 there and plan to cancelled, initially was told booking fee refundable but now he cant get back his money..

When he approached tyem to cancel the booking, his SA told him will get back the fee in 2 weeks, but after few days got another call from him and booking fee is not refundable..

Nope. Mine is GM, SA inform car is ready this week, so all ends well.

Silver is 'hot' color, so some delay is expected.

Like to share the news that one particular bank has now stopped Hire purchase loan for 8 & 9 years and only doing up to 7 years maximum. They are acting in line with Bank Negara's "Responsible Financial Guideline" to reduce individual debt ratio period.

However, other banks are still not yet affected by this ruling at this point in time, and I am not sure if they might follow suit soon. There is a possibility that Bank Negara may impose higher restrictions in the months to come by imposing a margin ceiling of 80-85% instead of the current 90%. Therefore, those who wish to borrow to the full, my advice is better to lock in your loan now instead of later.

Therefore, those who wish to borrow to the full, my advice is better to lock in your loan now instead of later.

this came as no surprise to me. recent report has shown that M'sia is one of the countries with the highest household debt if not the highest. sooner or later, some measures nd to be taken to lower down the number. but i think these rules can only do so much, as the price of house, cars and everyday expenses keep going up, while the income of the citizens do not increase in the same proportion. sweat.gif

My friend booked his k3 there and plan to cancelled, initially was told booking fee refundable but now he cant get back his money..

When he approached tyem to cancel the booking, his SA told him will get back the fee in 2 weeks, but after few days got another call from him and booking fee is not refundable..

You should not be paying the down payment if the outlet has yet to have a car for you. Are you taking the 1.6SX or 2.0SX?
*
Yes, they should not asked me to settle the payment if the don't have car to deliver. I complaint to the branch manager and the manager said will deliver the car once the car reached to their branch (he said this 2 weeks ago).

I ordered Cerato 1.6, bright silver. Just called my SA, he said got my car engine number, now doing the road tax but the car still in Kedah, once the teller arrived and done the tints then can deliver the car to me.

Just to share that new JPJ ruling require road tax to be cancelled before insurance policy of a car can be cancelled. This is affecting cases for trade-in used cars and for NCB transfer to the new car. To cancel the road tax, the owner must produce the original registration card and original road tax disc at any JPJ office. In the past, you can cancel the insurance policy and maintain the road tax.

Cerato is just newly launched. It will take a while before you get to see them more frequently. There are probably just 500 units on the road now, which is like a drop of water in the big ocean. biggrin.gif

Mostly this small overlap happens when the car on the opposite lane terbabas and enters your lane, nothing u can do to prevent it from happening. The volvo got good ratings, and the japs, only Honda and Subaru got good right?

small overlap accident by definition is when the corner of ur vehicle(20%) hit a none moving object such as pole or tree...if kereta terbabas and masuk ur lane...that's frontal collision already....

Forget about that sohai ah beng, probably he only ride a ex5, talk like pro.

Anyway, camry is far more worst than cerato, the steering wheel just slide away to passenger side like piece of cake, imagine the front passenger get a front air bag, a side curtain air bag, and a foc air bag from driver, extremely well safety!

camry also scored "P" while accord scored "G" in the similar testing last year.... guess what...Camry still outsold Accord in US.. brows.gif

well.... cannot compare the civic here as the ones here do not have side and curtain airbags, so end result civic and cerato will probably be the same depends on the crash.

better i know about how cerato behaves in a crash even if poor rating than not tested at all!

Hi all~
Just joined LYN big family~
i got my White 1.6l on 22/7.
so far odometer now near to 3000km.
satisfied on every single parts of this car.
but, there is still a problem, the "wind blowing noise" which is considered as Loud and annoying when speed over 100km/h. the noise is notable once my car cruising at speed of 80km/h. my fren who sitting rear seats even asked me whether they didnt wind up the window properly.
anyone experienced this?

i m not a qualified professional technician, but
i still knw how to differentiate the noise from tyre & wind blowing.
just sent my car to SC, the technician also think that the noise is just too loud and unacceptable. in the end, they cant solve my problem, and asked me go to JB Redcube which is knwn as "HQ" of Johor.

if u need to check noise issue no need engineer qualification. lol. brows.gif u just need sense only. if noise come from Tyre, u will hear on certain uneven road. if noise from wind blow, it all appear during high speed only

The stock car comes with a very simple alarm system, which uses the honk as your siren. Unlike conventional alarm, it doesn't give you sound when you lock or unlock your car. Some people don't feel very secure as they are used to listening to the sound, for their previous cars.

Also, most conventional alarm system comes together with shock sensor, hence, if a thief breaks the glass to steal your belongings from the inside, the alarm will also trigger.

However, the car comes with built-in immobiliser, without the smart key, it is not going to be easy for the thief to drive your car away, unless he is a real PRO or syndicate but that is another story la .....

Kia Cerato outshines Honda Accord in crash test

Media Release:  19 AUGUST 2013

Kia Cerato outshines Honda Accord in crash test

Korean car manufacturer Kia has outperformed Japan’s Honda in the latest Australasian New Car Assessment Programme (ANCAP) crash tests.

Today ANCAP announced a 5-star safety rating for all variants of the 2013 Kia Cerato small sedan and hatch introduced to New Zealand in June.

The 2013 Honda Accord missed the 5-star mark during the frontal offset crash conducted by ANCAP earlier this year, receiving 4-star ANCAP safety rating.

While ANCAP reports the Honda Accord’s passenger compartment held its shape well during the crash test, the foot well-mounted park brake experienced excessive movement creating the potential for significant lower leg damage.

Both cars are equipped with a range of safety assist technologies (SAT) including duel frontal, side chest and curtain airbags along with antilock brakes, electronic brake distribution and electronic stability control. Also both cars performed well in the side impact test.

The Cerato offers seat belt reminders for all seats compared to the Accord which has reminders fitted to the front seats only.

AA motoring advice manager Andrew Bayliss says Kia successfully demonstrates 5-star safety performance doesn’t necessarily come with a 5-star price tag.

“It’s pleasing to see the relatively inexpensive Kia Cerato receive a 5-star safety rating, but surprising and very disappointing to see the Honda Accord falling short.

“In today’s safety conscious environment, car buyers have a wide choice of cars in the medium saloon sector and most of those have a 5-star ANCAP safety rating,” Mr Bayliss says.

NZ Transport Agency road Safety Director Ernst Zollner welcomes the latest ANCAP test results.

“These results show the value of the independent test system and provide consumers with valuable information to help them make informed choices,” Mr Zollner says.

“Safe vehicles play a big role in protecting road users in the event of a crash. So the Transport Agency and its road safety partners encourage people to buy the safest car they can afford.”

ANCAP is supported by all Australian and New Zealand motoring clubs, the Australian Government, the New Zealand Government, Australian state and territory governments, the Victorian Transport Accident Commission, NRMA Insurance and the FIA Foundation.

The full list of ANCAP’s vehicle safety ratings, other vehicle safety information and the specifications of the rated vehicles are available online at aa.co.nz or rightcar.govt.nz.

No, the stock car does not have the shock sensor. If you wish to install it, please PM me for details. It's a combination of OEM alarm and shock sensor. I only recommend to do it via Naza authorised supplier, so that your 5 Year warranty remains intact. Thanks
