Just wondering any new Cerato owner managed to ask for freebies from the SA ? Eg. tinted windscreen & windows (V-Kool maybe, hehe), better quality number plate, full tank petrol.

Sa also say cbu to me too.
*
Am from Kuching by the way. I also saw the cars when the 1st batch of cars arrived at Naza Kuching and other dealers last week and all has "Euro Spec" chalk written on the windscreen. And all the stickers are in koreans and the car battery also original korean battery. The SA told me all are CBU. The shipment is Korea-KL-Sabah-Sarawak...thats why here we always last one to get it. blink.gif

QUOTE(Buydirect @ Jul 23 2013, 02:27 PM)
CBU - Completely Built-Up (or fully imported)
CKD - Completely Knocked-Down (or local assembly)
S-KD - Semi Knocked Down ( very little assembly like doors, head lamps and rear combination lamps)

Cerato is on S-KD basis, as there is no AP involved.
It would not be feasible to do CBU for Cerato and to commit high volume, as government has limitation on issuance of AP (approved Permit) for obvious reasons.

Hope my message helps.

Regards.

I am on the verge on booking a Cerato 1.6.

So far, is there any problem with this car ? Other than water dripping and excessive noise ? Any resolution on it ?

I dislike the seat and would like to change it to leather seat, but too bad, there is no dual tone availability. And the radio unit is horrendously small.
*
I have used my 1.6 for 4 mths already & i dont encounter any water dripping issue & also excessive noise with the car. Satisfied with it & even more satisfying is that everyone who has sat & "test drive' my car all loving it. They never expect a korean car can feel so good. Of course there is no such thing as a perfect car but this is the best car for such price point.

im bout to buy new car & adore with this k3..but my wife want me buy the new vios..coz what?..sexy looking design..Im convince her in term of safety feature & comfort but she still stick with her VOIS.im sure seeing 90k full spec vios & 99k spec k3 make people think again. Anyone help me to convince this kind of persons:(
*
Sorry, cannot help u on this rolleyes.gif Accept it & i pity u. Cant convince Vios-die hard persons. rclxub.gif I had a friend just recently bought the new vios. His reasons of buying - "value good wo". He has no knowledge of specs & safety yet he even went on to say the safety sure best bcos its a Toyota, sure body solid (as advised by the SA). he bought it without test drive of course. So many of such ppl around thats why UMW is laughing all the way to the bank making huge profits offering skeleton-specs & minimal-safety cars to all these ppl. Oh ya, change wife rclxm9.gif kidding la. biggrin.gif

Based on my experience dealing with customers, most ladies generally tend to go for brand instead of looking at the practicality/ features or value of a product. I suppose that's why handbags like LV sell like hot cakes! :-)
*
That's why UMW so friggin happy. Ignorant customers, sad to say, support them blindly. Even they put a 20 yr old engine to Vios it will become top seller. Doesn't matter, it's their loss. More knowledgeable customers wil enjoy the best cars.

speaking of FC, does anyone verify how accurate the estimated FC shown on the dashboard?

i did my own calculation for the last full tank... dashboard shows 7.9l/100km... which is 12.6582km/l... but my own calculation is only 11.8xxxkm/l...
*
I calculated mine for few mths since Aug...quite close. Again, all depends on the traffic at each place.

HAHA...good news..my wife officially choosing k3 instead of vios.. I brought my wife 2x @ kia showrow to get the feel & make comparison with vios ,Elantra & civic..

1. Vios-  cry.gif Too small for 178cm person, low safety feature & under power but sexy good looking.
2. Elantra -  I feel something wrong with the absorber during zebra crossing, feel quite bumping. basic  airbag(2 unit). But vsc include in higher spec 1.6 exec(97k) & 1.8(114k)
3. civic- Of coz power of dream . 1.8 so power . No keyless, same handling like civic FD1 ( i drive plenty of time my bro's car). Interior seem kotak2..no curve mode.

so when drive this k3.. more comfort, 6 air back, rear cam.. not under power,.got vsm. so i let my wife drive & she really satisfy,...& btw thanks to previous Audi designer..

now the problem. shakehead.gif i wanna test 2.0 version but all showroom onli got 1.6.. So anyone can recommend any showroon got this 2.0 version. sweat.gif
*
Glad to hear that !! rclxms.gif Wise choice. Proved that really need to have to feel the real thing & compare then will realise & make correct choice. thumbup.gif

seems like sa cannot be trusted 100%, you must make a survey and do a comparison which is the best..
*
Some can be trusted & some overzeolous ones who only think of making sales & commissions will make empty promises which jeopardise the reputation of the authorised dealers & to the extend to KIA itself. I think it applies for other makes of cars too. Shud tell customers the truth on all aspects. This is the basic of any bness ethics.

If KIA is indeed Korean Imitating Audi, they sure did hell of a great job, if you ask me !  biggrin.gif
What more can you ask for, the best specs including rear aircon vent, sunroof and memory seat at the most affordable price!
*
Yup, saw the video. Its no doubt the most VFM and best overall car at that segment. & every car everywhere is imitating good points of others in some ways to fit into theirs. Its 1 of the ways to go of any successful products.

just my opinion...just hit my 1000km...

1) average fuel consumption? - 45 L = about 460KM ( mostly city driving for me, if highway, u should be able to go further)
2) How is cerato performance on those uneven road? and noise insulation - i m on 1.6, i think it's powerful enuff, noise insulation is good..go for test drive
2) few package offer upgrade to full leather seat, how is the quality like? (Still prefer leather as it's easier for cleaning) - didnt upgrade...fabric material good enuff

it is not the car. it is the badly maintained roads that causes the premature rattlings. Furthermore, nowadays new cars are launched with large rims and that requires a thinner tire. Thinner tire is bad in absorbing the shocks, jolts and bumps from the uneven roads and as a result the force is channeled to the clips and bits which holds the plastic panels in the car, causing them to loosen over time.
*
yup. u are rite. My friend driving VW Golf GTI also complained same thing about rattling sound.

I have some bad radio reception problem...other than that my car is not too bad...
Do bare in mind there are many who are with no complains smile.gif

Then again , the decision really lies within ur own hand ...go for a test drive ... Hope it helps
*
I think many are really looking at wanting a PERFECT car...too picky, no offence intended smile.gif I think if one looks at ALL the cars in the market today, there is no PERFECT car, there is always some "mini tiny itsy bitsy weenie" issues concerning a car, haha. I can name so many cases of ppl i know with all types of cars fr the sub RM50K++ to RM million that has some issues "bugging" them....there are always issues & most are really totally insignificant & negligible issues. Of course there are cars really have on-going significant issues...gearbox for instance....but one really need to do more "paper" research - the specs, the safety features (very very important), etc etc etc...look at the bigger picture & MUST MUST go test drive itself & weigh the pros & cons themselves....as each indv has different preference. If one decided not to get a reasonable good car, no matter what car is it, just becos the radio reception not so good & some rattling sound which can b easily fixed, then its would be so pity isn't it. I just saying we are need to be wise enough to look at the bigger picture (haha, i say it again)....a car is not merely such tiny issues, the RV or what not....Its more than that. The world is changing , there are so many quality cars for us all to choose from, enjoy the choices & take advantage of it ....go TEST DRIVE them.

Well as human beings we seek perfection or near perfection smile.gif, and issues such as radio reception and rattling noise might be small but in the long run it will definitely impact enjoyment of the ride. Also issues as this won't be noticed during test drive don't you think?

Overall people just want to get the value worth of what they are paying for so i don't think its wrong to ask questions no matter how irrelevant!
*
Yes, i agree with you if the issues cannot be fixed as I wouldn't want such things to bother me for whole of my car life...but then these 2 issues can be easily fixed by SC ...& i heard the rattling sounds only affecting minimal numbers of Cerato & radio reception is 1st i heard about. I hav my Cerato 1.6 for 8 mths already & there is not a single problem to it & also my group of about 7 friends all having same cars (our own Cerato grp, hehe) all having not a single issue til now. We are small numbers yes, but just saying that these issues are not a common ones affecting all. I have another new car, the VW Passat, got issues too (not gearbox la...phewwww , haha) but all small ones & kautim fixed already haha.

I wish u luck in getting your car thumbup.gif

Thanks for the kind words guys smile.gif

The bottle costed about rm150 and looks like i can use it for 2 rounds of application. Just apply it as though I apply wax but it's recommended to spread it in the direction of the wind whereas wax we normally have to apply it in a circular motion. Took about 2 hours for most of the car (I did not do up the front as that has a PPF installed). Mine is glittering metal.

I'm not much of a detailer hehe. I applied it to protect the paint. But was surprised by the result. smile.gif

I'll see if weather is good today and will try to snap some pics from the sides. I'm due to wax up the front with meguiars ultimate liquid wax or nxt. The xpel paint protection film is a bit fussy as to what stuff is applied onto it. Will snap the pics after but I'm betting the front won't look as good as the rest of the car tongue.gif
