I've done sound proofing on the boot, floor and tyre well.
All in all, there is improvement as you do those, but I would say the boot is worth doing, floor being fairly painful to do and fender, being right in the middle in terms of price and with the right material, it certainly helps to dampen the tyre roar. At the end of the day having done that, the roar is reduced except on the worst of roads. I know this for a fact as driving down the KESAS which has some really bad pavement from Kota Kemuning till Subang, there was a huge difference, and a measurable 5 - 8 dB diffrence. Now wind noise is more of a problem which I plan to solve with door soundproofing. Having said that, the MC5 that come with our cars have never been known for their silence and there are much more better tyres out there. Also if there is some need to quieten your ride, try installing a door rubber seal. I installed StuffIt and it's really good. Let me know if you guys would like some pics. I could probably dig it out from my archives. QUOTE(cougar richard @ May 9 2015, 07:04 AM) |

QUOTE(perror @ May 9 2015, 10:50 AM) I've done sound proofing on the boot, floor and tyre well. Of course I am indeed interested to see pictures. If you don't mind, please let us know what material were used and pricing for each compartment. All in all, there is improvement as you do those, but I would say the boot is worth doing, floor being fairly painful to do and fender, being right in the middle in terms of price and with the right material, it certainly helps to dampen the tyre roar. I am kinda skeptical to hear more rattling noise after things had been dismantled and put them back again. Usually it will come with some extra rattling noise for stuff that has been re-installed. To tackle with tyre roar, better to start with boot first? I am curious that did you done all the fender, floor, and boot sound proof at the same time? If yes, then how would you identify which part yields the best result? This post has been edited by cougar richard: May 9 2015, 12:24 PM |

QUOTE(cougar richard @ May 4 2015, 12:37 PM) I have got similar noise too recently. Mine is at the clock assembly, it only make buzzing noise when cruising at low speed on a rough road surface. When press against then it was reduced. Anyway, it might also could be some wiring loosen inside the HU. Bro, mine is at this area between the emergency signal button and the digital clock unit. During every morning start engine, the vibration will slowly reach here and buzz sound like a loose spring. Also cruising low speed or uneven/rough surface will have it. When press the top flat surface the sound disappeared. Sent my car for 1k service at PJ Red Cube and they don't advice to open the dashboard. What they did is hand solution! Similar problem was encountered by a member in this forum previously, he has got it fixed. I will be addressing this issue be it during my off day or maybe at my next service. Don't mind please share with us your outcome too on what is happening and how it is fixed upon your visit to SC. Thanks bro. ![]() For the sunroof noise, is loosen clip, they took it out and reclip back. Issue solved here. QUOTE(cougar richard @ May 7 2015, 11:26 AM) I think 80km mild cornering still ok for K3, the ESC symbol will not light up. So I guess your Kx will also behave the same. Tried a few times. Once at 1 traffic light cornering felt the car swirl abit to left maybe due to sudden corner at 60-80km. Didn't see ESC symbol light up. So far didn't feel under power during pick up. But during jam the car felt abit moving forward might be due to the heavy body. sometime when from static and on 1st gear, I will feel the car suddenly move forward unexpectedly. Could be due to deeper pedal pressed, but after that the car pickup actually not much power. Even when I fully press the gas pedal to flat on the floor and the RPM hitting 6.5k mark, I dont feel much power but rather just engine roaring. Sometime dont really have confident in overtaking or driving out of road if other cars are near. I am using Shell RON 97 all the while Make sure u check tyre pressure every 2-3 weeks to the right pressure and your car should be safe to tackle mild corner in 60-80km/h. |

The deep press on pedal and not moving but just engine roars. I think i might know the issue as i tried to play on manual and auto. Actually manual is totally not fun to play with since on 1-2nd gear is basically no pickup feel, and 3rd gear at 3000 rpm u only hit 40km/h sometime when from static and on 1st gear, I will feel the car suddenly move forward unexpectedly. Could be due to deeper pedal pressed, but after that the car pickup actually not much power. I am using Shell RON 97 all the while Make sure u check tyre pressure every 2-3 weeks to the right pressure and your car should be safe to tackle mild corner in 60-80km/h. Back to the deep press experience issue, as i found out, since the gear needs to shift from 1-2-3 and onwards, giving that basically 10-15km/h the gear shift to 2nd and during the shift in Auto, i notice there's a feel of "release gear" and "enter next gear", during this gap, suddenly the pedal you press is all just like you are on neutral and press pedal, hence no power. The engine is CVT and should have a smooth auto gear shift, but there is a 0.5sec where the "shift" appears, the pedal press is "Nuetral" so u see rpm flies to 4k - 5k but no movement. Plus the car 1st gear is about 10km/h and then shift 2nd gear, to about 20-30km/h then 3rd. So it's quite low and really not much to accelerate. 40km/h you should already on 3rd gear in auto. Try play manual and you'll see that the rpm on 1,2, 3rd gear, even if you press on 2nd gear, it won't bring u much pickup but only at 30-40km/h your engine roars like a lori. Above is just my experience and guess on how my gear shift and test for trying to pick up using 1st and 2nd gear. Btw, i accidently fill my car with Vpower racing RM2.80 per litre, instead of 97 |

Asking for anyone polish their dashboard? which brand of internal polish is good? i try not to buy those oily type where once you wipe, you see a layer oil and hence the obvious oil layer with the non-polish area. (You know our dashboard area near the wiper area, it's almost unreachable with out a tool, so mostly that is the non-polish area
Please do share if anyone polish their car by own effort as well, plan to polish my car since it's been nearly 4 months, the original "shiny" from the clear coat need a boost. This post has been edited by Chester77: May 11 2015, 12:16 AM |
