sorry, for few question about Y410P

1. Local Y410P only come with 1tb HDD.
Lets said we self-buy the MSATA to install, do we need do any setting?
1.1 24gb Msata roughly cost?

2. Compare 768P vs 900P, will this important for Photoshop user?

3. Will 900P Y410P come to M'sia??

Sorry for many question, because compare Local VS AP really hard to make decision.

You are not wrong. nod.gif
However, when you ask for SSD @ computer store, they will give you SATA SSD (the normal size).

1. readme. btw, I use sata SSD. So, I never done it before.

1.1 dunno but the smallest that I could find online is Intel® SSD 525 Series (30GB, mSATA 6Gb/s, 25nm, MLC) & offline(physically) is 32 GB.

2. with 14 inches? NO. (played games on both screen before, barely felt difference)

3. No news but 'm guessing never will.

go for local. less hassle with warranty.

p/s: ain't a pro but willing to help.

sorry, for few question about Y410P

1. Local Y410P only come with 1tb HDD.
Lets said we self-buy the MSATA to install, do we need do any setting?
You need to clone your drive C into mSATA (easiest) using Paragon Drive Copy or Cloning Software from Acronis or make backup and reinstall into your mSata (hardest)
1.1 24gb Msata roughly cost?
No point buying small volume for mSATA, get at least 128GB as OS Boot drive or get 64GB as cache drive but need to use Lenovo's own program known as rapid-drive.

2. Compare 768P vs 900P, will this important for Photoshop user?
For photo editing the 900p might be beneficial due to the better image quality.

3. Will 900P Y410P come to M'sia??
Sorry to said that, probably no unless you willing go for US set if 900p resolution is your concern. If warranty is priority to you then get Y500/Y510p or other brand laptops.

Sorry for many question, because compare Local VS AP really hard to make decision.

Let's make this very clear doh.gif

Y410p do NOT have mSATA port.
It has the latest NGFF m.2 port.
Do not think of buying a mSATA SSD and putting it into Y410p. It will not fit.
When the Y510p come to Malaysia, it is the same deal. No mSATA port. Only NGFF m.2 port.
SSD brands that has m.2 port form factor include Crucial M500, Intel 530 (to be launched in Aug13), Samsung (inside the latest MacBook, http://thessdreview.com/our-reviews/2013-m...ie-ssd-review/), Plextor (late Aug13) ....
BUT, don't go out and buy those m.2 SSD. The problem is the length. Lenovo somehow only leave space for a 42mm long m.2 SSD card, which rule out all the large capacity m.2 SSD which are 60/80/110 mm long doh.gif
And m.2 is a very new interface. So hold your horses smile.gif
http://blog.virtium.com/?p=378

In short, if you want large capacity (> 128G) SSD in your Y410P or coming Y510P, you only viable options:
a. Swap out the HDD with SATA SSD (easy);
b. Sacrifice the ODD (need caddy).

If you want small capacity (~ 32GB) SSD for caching in Y410P or 510P, do NOT buy mSATA SSD.

I think that problem plagues all gaming laptops, not just Y500. Battery technology just couldn't keep up with the advancement in processing power - heck, if it did I wouldn't have to recharge my iPhone once every 10 hours sweat.gif

it's common to face lag when playing games on battery with most gaming laptop... This is because the gpu consumes too much power to process the graphics... When playing ur laptop on battery, the much advanced the graphic of the game that u run (such as Skyrim, Hitman Absolution, Remember Me, Dishonored, etc...) then for sure ur GPU going to consume much2 more power to process the game's graphics, and as such, the battery power can't cope with the demand.. hence the lag.. if no lag, then for sure ur battery finish after 15~30 mins xD

dude, are u still up?
coz 'm trying to OC single gt750m right now but I seem couldn't find the acceptable O.C setting.
using nvidia optimization, Tomb raider benchmarking & msi afterburn here.
Got any idea for good O.C setting(temp below 85'C) ?
