Hi all, i got a question.. i'm planning to bring my motorbike into SG and drive it daily here.. May I know how much I have to pay per day or whatsoever fee? Is there any regulations that prohibit me from driving here daily?

this one you have to ask king of bikers lester1987 funny to see sometimes how the bikers open way for him to clear customs... like royalty on a guard of honor inspection

HOW TO HAVE $100k by 30 rclxm9.gif

SINGAPORE - When you are trying to get by on $35 a day, the once routine act of getting a taxi to work starts to look awfully like an indulgence.

A cab ride from my home to the office costs only about $6 but that's 17 per cent of my daily allowance so it's the bus for me these days - at a paltry 83 cents a trip.

This is just one aspect of an austerity drive where I try to rein in my daily spending to that daunting $35, which is in the ballpark of the $32 daily budget that I arrived at in the Young & Savvy column two weeks ago.

I calculated that this figure would allow a person starting work at 25 years of age to hit $100,000 in savings and investments by the time he was 30.

But it has been an uphill struggle - reflecting reader comments after the article that it would be tough to live on such a budget.

My personal plan has been to spend less on weekdays and relatively more on weekends, hitting $35 a day on average. I want to make it part of my lifestyle so I can carry on like this through force of habit.

It is still too early to say if I can make the average consistently but there have already been some lifestyle changes, most notably after I downloaded an application on my mobile phone to record my every purchase.

This makes me realise when I've spent too much on wasteful items and so is helping me to change my spending patterns.

There are now times when I quench my thirst with plain water or tea that I've brewed myself after seeing how many $1.20 soft drinks I bought on one day.

my question is can I leave SG before they print out the notification letter, or do I stay until they print out the notification letter and email to me, so that I can leave SG with the notification letter.
You can.

I get my EP this month only, I travel daily in and out to work. Does this calm you?  tongue.gif

Ok, white card got 2 portion, lets say 1A and 1B
Example:
22/7 you go in Singapore with 1A+1B, they take away your 1A, return you 1B
22/7 you give your company to photocopy 1B, then they use your 1B detail to register for appointment letter (In this case, I am assuming you got your IPA way earlier)
22/7 you get reply that your appointment with ESPC will be on 26/7, for fingerprint verification etc etc.
22/7 PM, you back to Malaysia, 1B was taken away by immegresen (else how you leave SG?)
23/7 you go in SG to work with 2A+2B, back Malaysia and give them your 2B
24/7 3A+3B, 3B return when u back
25/7 4A+4B....
26/7 5A+5B, you bring your 5B white card portion to ESPC, just let them know that because you are travelling in and out daily, so your white card detail is changing daily. After all the verification bla bla bla, they will tell you to collect your EP on... say 31/7, then they will chop on your e appointment letter, stated in progress, then staple your 5B white card on the letter too
26/7 PM you get out SG by showing immegresen your letter and the white card 5B, this time they will NOT collect your 5B
29/7 you go in SG with letter and white card 5B, you back MY with letter and white card 5B
30/7 same as 29/7
31/7 Go to ESPC and collect your EP, you need to give them the letter and card 5B
31/7 PM you get out with your EP and say bye bye to white card for next 1-2 years.

Hope above explain well. You are lucky that I am in good mood to type so lengthy, haha!  icon_rolleyes.gif

wrong info. They will collect your 5B card and issue you the notification letter only with a stamp on it stating which date you will collect your EP.

That piece of paper will serve as your EP and u just need to attach it to your passport and you can enter and leave as many times as you like.

simple rule, you stay in SG, you buy SG bike. You stay in JB, you can ride Malaysia bike. Fees and charges varies depends on which way you use to enter and exit.

You mean ICA will collect the 5B and issue you a letter on the spot? At the custom?

BTW, since bikers crowned you as king here, how much is the initial cost and average cost per year for Malaysian to own a let's say 150CC bike in SG?

initial cost? if you buy the bike cash, then its around dollar to dollar compare to RM. like a FZ150 in Malaysia is around 8.8k, Singapore selling around that price as well.

But bear in mind the insurance and road tax is the one that is expensive. my yamaha x1 (like Lagenda) 1 year roadtax + insurance is $500. But big bikes like CB400 road tax + insurance is only around 800.
my suggestion is better get a big bike compare to a small one.

regarding the letter, U will collect it when you submit your documents. not at the custom. When you go to EPSC. u need to surrender the white card and your IPA together and do your thumb print.
After that they will issue you a letter to collect your EP on XX date. you can leave the country and re-enter using that letter.

That's 150 minutes travel time.one way for me

Archi right? Don't expect to go home on time... Thomson road is very long, can think of CW5 from CIQ which stop at Newton and do some walking.
