If i grab it now and upgrade it to Leopard, that means i will be spending more money?
What if Apple upgrades the macbook with newer processors or more new stuff along with leopard?
Could that happen?

QUOTE(jae @ Jan 18 2007, 07:36 PM) hey guys, not sure if this is the right thread to post this question though... anyway, i am thinking of getting a macbook(rm5299 model) for uni purpose, but i have been recommended by many not to get it due to compatibility issues, well i know there's a microsoft office for mac version available, but it cost quite alot and if i add that in it will go out of my budget, but if i dont add that, will i be able to open notes and tutorials from microsoft words/excel/powerpoint? and if i were to present my work to the lecturers from my thumb drive, will windows be able to open my file as well? any help from the sifus here will be greatly appreciated now talking about compatibility, how much compatibility are you looking for? 100% definately not. i have used office for mac, but feel that it can be a little frustrating sometimes..not always, but perhaps newer versions of office - 2008 is slated to be launched this year will be much better in terms of compatibility, just a matter of time till it is 100% compatible. my 2 cents...as i have used it. Apple just released software update "Airport Extreme update 2007-001". I've installed it and not sure if it unlocked 802.11n on my mbp. How can I check for wifi compatibility? I don't have 802.11n wifi router.....

Help!
I visited a phishy site with my BlackBook and after a few seconds the fans started roaring and the system asked to shut down. I restarted but the fans were roaring again so I used OnyX and automated it I think and it restarted and was okay.
Do I have anything to worry about or should I reformat it?

QUOTE(KTay @ Jan 29 2007, 12:17 AM) Eh, speaking of it. Anyone here knows the x3000 can be comparable to what card? Check this link out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA Look for GMA X3000. I kinda confused that why it say that GMA 3000 for santa rosa platform, cos' i read some malaysia pc magazine stated that santa rosa platform use X3000, not that low-end version of GMA3000. QUOTE As each pipeline is fully programmable, in theory X3000 can target either DirectX 9 or DirectX 10, determined by operating system and device driver. This design is consistent with the DirectX 10 generation of video cards from ATI and nVidia, which also utilize unified pipelines. Maybe nearly to nvidia6600/7300 mobility? Or lower It's hard to tell
