UQW is not really a 'full fledged' wax/sealant. I do suggest you use the UQW for maintenance/topping up. The 'base' need to be a proper one like ULW/UPW or DG101/DG105.QUOTE(ChiaKhai @ Apr 18 2013, 05:53 PM) Hi bro KrisMas On a DA....I don't think so. Unless there's dirt inside/edge. I have one of the older Megs W8006 pad with the pad surface looking worse than that. Haven't notice any adverse effect when polishing, even with a rotary (actually, I prefer it more than the 'fresher' pads).I found that there's a "hole" in my polishing pad. ![]() would that have cause the scratches? What are you looking for/preference. Did you mean to DIY or a place that do 'coating'? |

QUOTE(gapsterz @ Apr 18 2013, 09:45 PM) hi sifu krismas.. Coating is to provide a slightly long term protective layer over your paint. Also, it will make your weekly washing easier since dirt will not easily stick to your car.actually im looking for a place to do the coating..i want a coat that can repel water and dirt from destroying my car paint..do u have a place to suggest? Generally coating is expensive due to the work required/preparation to make your car ready for coating, unless you don't mind to coat together with swirl mark on your car body. So far, it is more than 1.5K for normal sedan on what we have now in the market. With your budget, I would suggest you to DIY. Weekly washing and monthly waxing, to protect your car paint. - Car wash shampoo (Weekly) - Clay bar with clay lube (I do this only before I wax) - Sealant (Before wax) - Wax (Monthly) |

Hey all. Just wanna seek your professional advice on how to remove the scratches below. I tried using Soft99's Luster and didn't seem to work. Am I suppose to use polisher instead ? Am I suppose to touch up the paint as well (like using Ezytouch up). Thanks in advance !

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Apr 19 2013, 02:26 AM) most coating service costs at least 1-2k Agree with what Quazacolt said. Won't be able to get much of anything with that kinda budget. Retail price for a 30ml bottle of CQuartz (which is one of the coatings available for purchase and DIY) is already at around RM160. Best is to go for what MyWifeCar said and DIY. Or, wait until you have a budget or around RM300 ~ RM500 or so and go for a good quality detail and just concentrate on maintainance after that.you sure you didn't miss a zero right there? Thanks in advance ! hehehe....won't get any 'professional' advice here....we're mostly amateurs... Anyway, can't really judge from the picture there. Can you possibly try to remove those paint/rubber (looks more like rubber) transfer with some kind of cleaner or solvent (petrol or diesel should work if it's rubber) and check for the damage again. After cleaning, see if you can catch the scratch/damage with your fingernail. If you can, then it's better to seek professional help (bodyshop) unless you have the tools and equipment (sand paper, rotary polisher, matching paint, etc.) to do it yourself. As for the rear quarter, did the Soft99 Luster has ZERO effect or only be able to 'remove' the scratch a little bit only? If it does, maybe more passes is needed. |

From what I can see, those scratches should be removable with the help of a Scratch Remover. |
