QUOTE(KrisMas @ Feb 27 2013, 10:41 AM) What job? For posting those two sentences??? it will, if you post those "how to" step by step guides.. Took me 10 minutes to figure out how to do them properly. I think I'm sticking with physical work like washing my car(s) and leave all these 'tech' stuffs to you guys la..... Anyway. Just hope this one would 'prosper' much like its predecessor..... |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Feb 27 2013, 11:29 AM) Nice one Quazacolt. Well i did find a side effect from using NXT Glass cleaner weekly Been using RainX for ages now and can't seem to find any other product that works as well and as economical (value for money) on front windscreen. There are now 'coatings' for glass but they are so d*** expensive and just not economical to use. I'm currently testing Aquapel. It's still beading on my front windscreen after 6 months but, even when freshly applied, it still can't beat the way RainX 'scares' water away, even at low speed (50km/h ~ 60km/h). ehehe.. guys, i'm still kinda noobie in terms of detailing, hence still have several questions on the following:
1) Ultimate Polish The instructions say to work the product into the paint and not allow it to dry. My question is, how long do i need to work the product if i'm not removing any minor swirls? 2) Ultimate Liquid Wax I'm been somewhat lazy, the instructions recommend 2 coats of the product but so far i've only been applying one.. all help is most appreciated |

QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Mar 1 2013, 01:31 PM) nice.. but seems expensive. Have you bought from them before?QUOTE(KrisMas @ Mar 1 2013, 03:24 PM) Beat me to it....terribly expensive though.... thanks for the advise. regarding no 2, if you leave it overnight, do you use a qd to wipeoff first before you apply the 2nd layer?1. not how long...but how hard you apply pressure. Since you're not trying to do any correction, just lightly would do...like applying wax but more passes. 2. I'd normally try to leave any wax/sealant overnight or a few hours of 'baking' under the sun before/if doing another layer..... |

one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb whenever i wash my car now is the blardy stone chips!!! even though you need to really scrutinize to see them, it still irritates the shit out of me.. have a lot of it on my front bumper and bonnet.
grrr... any recommendations other than respraying? my car is only coming to 3 months old. i travel back to ipoh every weekend and the North South Highway seems to be the main culprit here.. |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Mar 4 2013, 10:34 AM) I learned to close an eye and live with it (in the mean time, also learning to do touch-ups properly.. i also wanted to try the touch up packs like Ezy. I'm just as afraid to screw it up as well.. Preventive actions: Clear bra....good ones are so d*** expensive. Next best...plastidip...also expensive.... Next...avoid tail gating or following the car in front too close.... Re-spray options: DuPont High Solid...add clear bra for 'extra protection', of course...but no $$$$ la..... |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Mar 5 2013, 01:22 PM) What do you want to know about M21? I had both, M21 & M21 2.0...also NXT & NXT 2.0...back when I was still 'crazy' about Megs...... how does the M21 compare against the NXT and ULW? Does it work with hand application as well?my buddy mentioned that NXT has better shine when compared to ULW but doest last as long. |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Mar 6 2013, 09:59 AM) ehehe.. that will be another challenge for me.. but not now.. not enough kung fu skill yet.. i'm actually trying to speed up my current processes. As of now, a normal maintenance wash (with detailer or wax topper) for me takes about 2-3 hours (the latter if I'm scrubbing and waxing my wheels). If its with claying + waxing that will take about 1 hour more. If i'm doing polishing that will definitely add about 1.5 hours. Interior cleaning and applying protectants will definitely take about 1.5 hours. lucky i dont have to do everything every single week maybe i should invest in a DA polisher to speed up my waxing/polishing process. QUOTE(KrisMas @ Mar 6 2013, 01:07 PM) Waahhh!!!!....I tot I was slow.....I need AT LEAST 2 hours for my *proper* weekend wash. But I can do a *quick* wash in around 1/2 hr....hehehe yeah.. the home minister is not really happy that i'm spending so much time with the car.. You don't need much skill to apply a good quality coating (....well...actually...I only found ONE coating so far that can be described as such...hehehe...). btw.. this just came into my mind while washing my microfibres last week. the dynamo detergent that i'm using on that day was the one from the new range called Dynamo Complete. I noticed that the descriptions says: "New Dynamo Complete provides superior tough stain removal better than ordinary detergent + stain remover + whitener + brightener, keeping your clothes Clean Like New even after 10 washes" the whitener is not good for MFs right? beginning to notice that my MF is a little less 'bouncy' now.. sigh.. is it dead? |

QUOTE(wke002 @ Mar 6 2013, 02:34 PM) No Kidding. I try the whole portion back of my car booth. my personal opinion, if i close my eyes and feel between clay bar and plasticine, well its the same. wow.. you used dishwashing liquid as lubricant for your 'clay' ?? What are the ingredients of course i would not know or too technical to know the difference. when i rub the plasticine, there are dirt that stick to plasticine, like clay bar, like expert in clay bar says, use your hand to feel any pimple(did not try the plastic bag as forgot) and its smooth.... will do the rest this weekend if got mood. very brave of you sir This post has been edited by mav3rick: Mar 6 2013, 03:18 PM |
