QUOTE(HeReLiSm @ Nov 14 2013, 11:39 AM) 4. All purpose cleaner for wheels, interior, etc. My personal suggestion, if you're looking for a decent quality products that's value for money, go for Duragloss.5. Wax/sealant or Spray wax/sealant 6. Applicator for wax/sealant 7. Some general purpose microfiber cloths 8. Dressings for the wheels, exterior plastics, etc. because there are many products in store, so maybe you have ur personal preference? p/s: my car's colour is solid white. is there any special products that i have to use to maintain / improve the quality? All Purpose Cleaner - DG403 All Purpose Cleaner Sealant - DG105 Total Performance Polish Spray Sealant - Optimum Car Wax/DG951 Aquawax Applicator - Osrens Microfiber cloths - Osrens Dressings for tires, exterior plastics, etc. - DG253 Duragloss Tire & Rubber dressing The above are just my personal recommendation for those starters that are looking for decent products at decent price. My personal favorite....errr...that's a different story la. QUOTE(sonerin @ Nov 14 2013, 01:47 PM) I mean I can read a lot of using wax and sealant. What sealant is recommended for white colour car ? QUOTE(sonerin @ Nov 14 2013, 07:43 PM) Not really a must. Lets just call it 'double protection' if you're really OCD. I also don't see much advantages unless you're going for the knock-out look and crazy beading of a natural wax.QUOTE(y4ng @ Nov 14 2013, 11:50 PM) where to find duragloss? i went jusco just now found a bit of Megs and Turtle brand nia...didnt go ace hardware cos gf bising and busy hmmm You won't be able to find any Duragloss at normal shops. Go to the Malaysian Duragloss website. You can order on-line or can buy off-the-shelf from a couple of shops that's shown in their web. |

QUOTE(HeReLiSm @ Nov 14 2013, 11:39 AM) i read about it online. its a system where you wash your car using two different buckets; one for your washing bucket (water+shampoo), another is for clean water. first, you dip your sponge/wash cloth into washing bucket, then apply them to your car. then after that, before you re-dip the sponge/cloth back to the washing bucket, you have to rinse it first with clean water from another bucket. this is to remove all dirts that collected by the sponge/cloth before you continue. Very good advice! Will start to practice this method from today onwards. |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Nov 14 2013, 09:32 AM) You can get the clay from Osren too, or soft99 would do. But for the compound/polish, I'd suggest getting the Megs Twin (Megs Ultimate Compound & Ultimate Polish) as Osrens compounds/polishes are more geared towards machine/rotary use. actually... for a new car... should one get everything from osren... wanted to buy the bubble and wax from them...Note: I have a feeling that there's something I've missed out on the above....just can't put my finger on it.... one question... actually i was looking at meguairs product as well.. should i buy the wash mitt, water magnet, microfiber cloth, and ultimate wax from them or just buy everything from osren? and what is the difference between a sealant and wax? is both needed or either one... i googled it a bit but the definition is a bit murky.... FYI megs are your "everyday"/mainstream product overseas while only in Malaysia it's marketed as premium. if anything (assuming you can afford/within budget), meguiar's stuff will work. sealant is generally synthetic based, typically last longer. some waxes have natural ingredients such as carnauba, and they tend to offer better shine/gloss/beading etc. usually they don't last as long compared to sealant more so on our malaysian weather with constant sun/rain. both 2 bucket + grit guard = better. if you're OCD, you can consider 3 buckets + stacked multi layer grit guards QUOTE(butthead @ Nov 15 2013, 04:15 PM) i'm detailing a 14 year old car so...This post has been edited by Quazacolt: Nov 15 2013, 09:43 PM |
