I have read through our Malaysia detailer threads and detailien blogs, and I am decided to go with Makita 9227C with
Optimum Wool Pad + OHC for compound
Optimum Foam Pad + OHP for polish
at an aim to remove the swirls caused by my improper washing method over a year ago. I started to change to proper washing method recently.

now my question is, do I need a DA polisher with fine finishing pad to remove micro marring, scratches, holograms left from the rotary ? rclxub.gif I think holograms gonna surface after the compounds, It is a black finish car

if you're good enough with the rotary, only need to change to finer/softer pads.

depends on how deep the scratches are.

if you're not confident, go with milder abrasives then increase it's aggressiveness if it does not work

Am using Turtlewax spray wax on my black myvi...Somehow I see there are visible oily look like petrol pouring onto water after application of the wax. Moreover portion of the paint has became matte lok instead of metalic look. Do I using the wrong wax or anything went wrong with my wax? Please suggest easy apply wax with glossy look for black car.
Sifus, any comment?

Those 'oily' look is waht we would call streaking or clouding. Could be a couple of possibilities:
1. You're using too much. Can try diluting the product with some distilled water.
2. You're leaving the product on the surface for too long. It's suppose to be a wipe on wipe off product - spray then immediately wipe off.
3. The surface is dirty - interfering with the bonding/curing of the spray wax or even mixing with it while you're wiping.

You'd need to practice a lot to get to finish hologram free with a rotary....especially on soft paint. Doing a two steps and jumping straight to a foam with a polish might be too far of a jump. You might need two or three passes with the foam and ohp to be able to remove marks left by the wool+ohc. Test your whole process from start to finish on a small section first before going for the whole car, so that you'd know what to expect.

You don't need to sand to remove light scratches. A right combination of compound/polish/pad could do the trick. But it all depends on how deep is the scratch and how soft (or hard) is the paintwork/clear coat.

Try with whatever you have first, then only evaluate whether you'd need softer pads or milder polish.

Haha, 10-year-old car can be your test ground to practice first before applying the technique to your new car. biggrin.gif

I've already bought myself some Micro Restore.
Most effective way and for worst case - soak for a couple of hours then blast them with a pressure washer, rinse then spin dry in washer.
2nd method - also soak for a couple of hours then spray down with my garden hose at 'fan' setting, rinse then spin dry in washer.
If you're talking about my question on how to wash those cloth after using ONR, no hope. I've tried everything but the dirt are too stubborn. One of the few reasons that I avoid using ONR unless I really have to.

Oh okay. Yeah, they have some physical shops/distributors at certain location.

Actually I am looking for duragloss product too. Just wondering whether the website of duragloss malaysia is still operating or not. Because Google Chrome is telling me the certificate is suspicious. So not dare to carry out any transaction there. sad.gif

5 hours to clay, polish and wax is considered fast lo .... laugh.gif

I need
1.5 hours to wash
1.5 hours to clay
1.5 hours for paint cleaning
1.5 hours to polish/glaze
1.5 hours to wax

biggrin.gif

I don't do everything in 1 day though.
It takes a few days biggrin.gif

and that's just for the exterior laugh.gif
