QUOTE(BlizzardCraft @ Feb 6 2013, 12:03 PM) hmm.. means resale value will be there still even without receipt la? btw checked with the nikon centre.. the serial number not in record, means this grey lens / from other country... not repaired before... without receipt and warranty card also can get repairing from nikon service centre Malaysia... but from his profile... saw him selling a D3000 with box oso lah, and a wide angle tolkina... and that probably explains why got no box etc... sure can repair...but like i said...the lens barely 6-7 months in malaysia...means any other used one u find will have warranty remaining still. so why pay for any repair when can claim warranty?

I using d3100 now but want to have more focus point and faster auto focus (since I like to shot on random people and sport etc) Should I get a second hand d7000 or just wait for new d7100 come out? When d7100 come out will d7000 price drop? This is will be my first camera upgrade, and plan to get a prime lense for portrait shot after that Random shot with d3100 70-300mm photo by d3569bd2157d2c15282dca912526ad18, on Flickr photo by d3569bd2157d2c15282dca912526ad18, on Flickr This post has been edited by popcorn513: Feb 6 2013, 01:56 PM

Just warranty card no receipt can be sent for repair I think. Since I sent my camera for cleaning, I always send with warranty card only. No record in Nikon Centre not sure if its Grey lens wo, it just proves its not been sent for service/repair before. And since Nikon covers international warranty for its lenses, so This post has been edited by Silverfire: Feb 6 2013, 03:51 PM

QUOTE(celciuz @ Feb 6 2013, 07:14 AM) Wow, the gold words can fade so easily? Owner must be holding there a lot, or poor quality ._. If not mistaken, that whole part can be replaced by Nikon. But price quite expensive, definitely more than RM50. Its normal la, my 50mm 1.8G also wording faded already. Rarely use it aswell also, most of the time just go in and out of bag jer

That means the lens that I buy from U.S will be covered? but why got the existence of grey set?

My friend has issue with Nikon Malaysia when he claimed for warranty, apparently Nikon Msia don't honor the international warranty and need to 'purchase' Msia warranty. But that was 2 years ago LOL, not sure if anyone tried to claim warranty recently?

As long as the optics are good then im okay My colleague lenses already gone the zoom ring marking, both for his canon 1740L and 70200 F4

In order to check aperture blades, at the lens mounting there, you will find a small piece of plastic appearing from a hole beside the metal connector pins....just move it and check. it is a switch where you need it to wide open your aperture hole and check for fungus. http://www.diyphotography.net/files/images...onverter-02.jpg
