Sooner or later, termination of ADSL/copper network at low demand and affluent areas will happen. Maintaining copper and fibre networks are costly. Just like Cellular operators will switch off 2G.

Fyi, They are extensively upgrading the infra for subb on my area in fact when i drove back to home from work just now, a group of tm engineers are busy doing the underground work for new cabinet installation. But what shocked me, they just don't touch the existing cabinet at the front of my taman at all. So?

Yes, ignore it.
God damned fake document from maxis agents.  doh.gif

EDIT:
First, they will ask you to go unifi, then suddenly say bad stuff about unifi (being expensive, unreliable etc) and offer maxis instead.

not that I can identify whether it's legit or fake,
but can I know from what source you're judging this as fake?

The reference number is invalid.

The biggest giveaway, these are two separate department:
1) Customer Value Management (CVM)
2) Consumer & SME

Azmi Abdullah = VP of CVM

Imri Mokhtar = EVP of Consumer & SME

Yes, or can't access baby monitor reason.

If you mention about file hosting stuff.........straight away those TM reply "We only provide dynamic IP for business package" bullshit.

it makes no sense should business package uses static ip instead, so can host server etc, home user was all the while dynamic ip right?
i feel instead they are network shaping connecting me to their vpn servers or something , speed so slow even for youtube is capped ... kns... i complain live chat just now she ask me reboot modem, tried few times still same shit diverted ip. can anyone share some light on what are they doing ?? just forward my case to skmm, hope can get some actual resolution with tmnut.

They have to keep and maintain the old cabinet till all the users give up copper telephony and ADSL (streamyx) service. New users going for Unifi service will be ported into new VDSL2 cabinet. So both cabinets must be maintained for the time being. Only the cable from the exchange to the new cabinet is Fibre.

Exactly. Or TM must provide same service through its new fiber infrastructure at same price.

So TM is launching Unifi Lite 10 at RM129/149 (Broadband Improvement Plan 2017) to kill Streamyx 2/4/8 in 2017. And TM will cut Unifi Lite price to less than RM100 (Budget 2017) in 2018/9 to kill Streamyx 1/2/4. Others will be replaced by Wireless Webe.

If we upgrade from 8mbps to Unifi Lite now, we'll be locked in for 2 yrs at RM129/149+GST.

Assuming your info for 2018/19 pricing is correct, we'll be squeezing balls while others are paying much lower prices sad.gif

Legally you can change or downgrade to any new Unifi package after 24 months (anytime for upgrade). Not sure if the subscription fee will be automatically reduced.
Price drop will not happen in the next few months, as TM is busy on HSBB2/SUBB (till 2019) and they need your money for capital investment (2017/18).
If you are Streamyx users, better migrate to Unifi now, as you are paying for better service, but paying more or less the same.
Why wait for something that you don't know when or if it will happen. Not much you may save (24 months from now).

If you believe in what Pak Jib presented in Budget 2017, it will be upgraded to 20mbps in 2019 and paying less.
And, for few of forumers already taking Unifi Lite 10 at RM129, they are waiting for TM tele-marketers to call them and offer a upgrade for discounted price (maybe +RM10 for 30mbps, as someone have got 100mbps for less than RM200).

I take most things from a flip-floppy govt with a pinch of salt, and thanks for your info and insights. Hopefully things will get faster and cheaper for us in the future.

The TM Point at my branch told me there have no power over the fibre coverage. It's all decided by HQ. All we can do is submit demand. whistling.gif
