Since my house only has the maximum 8mbps streamyx (no unifi) i decided to jump into the streamyx 8mbps bandwagon as i grew too tired with 1mbps. With the RM140 promotion, i'll take it at least until unifi comes along.

Been watching hypptv and the quality is not so good. Is this normal? Even watching HD channels does not feel HD

Yes. Normal. There's no dedicated bandwidth for Hypptv with Streamyx 8Mbps. The bandwidth will be shared between your usage and Hypptv. Well, at least it's better than hypptv everywhere quality.

wanna ask sifu here, i just change my modem from stock tm to dlink dsl 2750u.
i notice the wifi signal is low compare to tm one.
is this normal or not??
but compare to tm dlink is stable.. no sudden reboot when in use..

no comment from otai2 and sifu here?
2 antenna modem wifi signal suck more than tm built in??

Normally won't be that bad. Have you checked if you can adjust transmission power on the D-Link?

i faced similar issue with my new dlink supposedly higher dB antenna whatsoever..

and it turns out that i need to elevate the new router a bit higher compared to the older one
to give out better signal..

got this last time, end up just buy another tplink modem..since this model sucks, i mean literally sucks.. at first i thought it was my line, end up it's the modem itself.

in my situation, i did place the modem high on the table in line of sight of my devices.
even my laptop just 2 meter from the modem cannot got full bar wifi signal. very bad compare to the silver tm box.

tplink is better or not? i just want a stable modem.. tm modem always restart when high load and user.
