No technician visited me and I sign nothing as well
Well, seem like there's some loophole at the registration After complaint, a technician visited my house to check just now Surprised now TM no longer need to go to street cabinet to upgrade port speed But what funny is, the technician phoned department 'A' to request upgrade port speed. 'A' request technican to call 'B' for activate. Then 'B' say it was 'A' job. The technician also headache and will pass my case to his boss |

QUOTE(sailou @ Jan 31 2013, 03:41 PM) Using 4mb now. Trying to get a 8mb but not supported. What a sadding. Sometime need to contact special agent I can say.Can you guys who managed to get 8mb share your location? At least we know which and which area is covered. Some location although not supported but sometime the agent can help. Usually 4Mbit location is supported. But might have some issue on activation. QUOTE(x-1o8-x @ Jan 31 2013, 05:00 PM) the techs didnt come and check, i just went to tmpoint and ask for it and got it the next day. previously i was on 4mbps, and my snr was 20+, attenuation 40. I don't get frequent disconnection though, but I sometimes realize my IP has been changed, and sometimes if downloading too long I noticed my line will get dropped although I still have IP address shown. this happens maybe about 10 times in the past few weeks. Depends on modem.I'd be content if I can get my SNR to above 15 tho. My Level One modem overheat easily and would be unstable and frequent disconnection. TM Innacomm is total rubbish What I am using now is an old Aztech, able to stay connected up to 2 weeks. Just give TM a call and treat the technician well I can say If the technician is happy, he might help you modify your internal wiring a bit |

QUOTE(cibuksai @ Jan 31 2013, 06:10 PM) Why your DL able to hit over 10000 ? It doesn't matter, although 10Mbit port my max speed is 9Mb Mine only 8000 something. Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps): 509 Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 8191 SNR Margin - Upstream (0.1 dB): 255 SNR Margin - Downstream (0.1 dB): 305 Attenuation - Upstream (0.1 dB): 37 Attenuation - Downstream (0.1 dB): 50 Is this normal ? As long you get 8Mb on actual speed test you are okay Note : You got better ADSL quality than me |

QUOTE(pakji @ Jan 31 2013, 10:25 PM) my area still no 8mbps and no unifi Try agentDear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your reply. With regards to your query on DSLAM distance query, upon checking in the system for telephone number 04xxxxxxx, we found that your cable distance from our exchange is more than 1.51km whereas offerings of 8Mbps services is subject to distance limitation of maximum of 1.51km from exchange, port availability and also technical testing during installation. Your understanding on this matter is highly appreciated. For further assistance or feedback, kindly e-mail us at help@tm.com.my . Alternatively, you can also contact TM at 100, choose language and select "Products and Services". Regards, Nur Ashikin Nor Halid Customer Service Support, Telekom Malaysia. www.tm.com.my If your SNR and attenuation is nice enough might works |

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Feb 1 2013, 12:38 AM) That make sense due to line cap to 8191kbps. Thanks for the info Given the theoretical case where everyone in Malaysia has no internet, and you are the only one connecting to Streamyx, the maximum speed you can achieve is 87.3% of 8191kbps. This is due to the ADSL overhead.[Source] Talk to your installer again and see whether he can help you. Otherwise, you will need to call 100, and complain to ask them to change the sync rate to at least 9400kbps for you to achieve 8Mbps speed at the very best effort that TM can give. That takes a lot of phone calls and probably longer waiting time. YMMV. By using the best efficiency to calculate it is pretty accurate at my case too. At 5120 last time I should be able to get 4461 which I got exactly the same as calculated At 10235 I should get 8917 but I get 87XX, reduced efficiency but I am happy enough |
