Poor you. You can go appeal, you know? It's likely to be approved some day later on just like in my case laugh.gif

The Wise is not really a good card.

300 bucks for annual fee, no auto waiver, cashback need MYR 50 x 10 transaction per month.

Better stick with Mach.

Should ask you take a picture of the form as black and white proof.

Easier to confirm what we know and what we don't.

Okay la, 12 times or 8k quite decent for waiver.

EXACTLY!!!

Which is why I think is great. I'm heading to the HLB outside my office to double confirm.

Few things to iron out...

1. Does autodebit considered a swipe?
2. 10 swipes for 1 category or just swipe 10times (xRM50) and enjoy 10% rebate on those eligible one
3. Annual fees waiver

The good thing is that even swipe by supplementary will be combined.

OK... Waiver first, I think no waiver but not sure if they will change it in future.

Now back to the card... choose 2 category and then plus bonus Mobile category.

Since Mobile is bonus, it does not matter how many transaction you made, they will only count as 1. So you have to make 9 others RM50 transaction in your choosen categories in order to enjoy the 10% off.

As for annual fee, according to the cs, better off with gold as annual fee is RM150 and primarily because the Platinum offer the same thing without additional stuffs for double the annual fee.

I have applied and will update when I get my first statement. This is what the CS relay to me so dont shoot me if there's anything wrong.

WISE card defeat their 2 own cards, essential card and mach cash back card.

WISE card for me is not suitable for a large amount of transaction.
eg.
you swipe rm900 for the first transaction, but u still need to have 9 more swipes which must be at least cost RM450 in that month. You will get RM100 cashback. But the % of cashback you will get is 100/1350 = 7.5% only

I still think the Mach has its use still.

The WISE is still quite new, plus some of the terms and conditions are not clearly published. Might as well wait before deciding.

But the GSC card from HLB definitely can throw already after Mach and WISE exist la laugh.gif

WISE card is only useful for those who can fulfill the minimum requirement to start earning the 10% cashback. For individual who dont fulfill that requirement MACH is better. HLB Essential are those who spend damn alot, so they can enjoy the 1% unlimited cashback. Ultimately there is no best among the 3. It just depend on your own personal spending pattern.

Example if you can pump petrol above RM50 for 9 times and pay your phone bills... that would make it 10 transaction. At 10% cashback it is even better then MBB2 Amex that earn you 7.5% and OCBC Ti that offers your 5%

Agree.

Need to be a genius and split transaction by 50 bucks per block laugh.gif

But supplementary cards' spending also calculated so it's likely possible la. Not too hard to spend 50 per block to be honest. Imagine going to dinner for 1 month, surely can get rm 50 per block roughly.

But I'll likely favor the Mach for the time being since I use more of the Mach. Besides, it would be a hassle to re-apply another for the time being.

Speaking of the Devil, Citi just dropped a call laugh.gif

So calculative for what? Remember, you only need 9 transaction since you are going to auto debit your phone bills.

For me, its just worth it. I have kids, buy groceries quite often. I just have to pump RM100 petrol 4 times a month and then make that up with 5x groceries swipe. If I felt like it, might even pump RM50 x 8times. Just max this first and swipe everything else with Mach or OCBC.

I believe u better revamp the 1st post to enrich the content to provide more information regarding the card. The mod here r abit sensitive to "low quality" threads. Previous Wise card thread was deleted due to this...

I see a possible HLB staff with a picture of WISE card promotion here laugh.gif

Maybe you can help to furnish the WISE thread with relevant information to prevent it from being closed down.

The 10 minimum RM50 Transactions.

I wonder can it be like:

Petrol: RM50 x 6
Maxis: RM50 x 3 (via payonline)
TNB: RM50 x 11 (via payonline)

10% Cashback!!! drool.gif

Hmm you mean like splitting your TNB bill to 50s
Good Idea, just that very mafan, and not sure if they will make a clause saying no bill splitting or not
my monthly TNB bill no RM550, next time i go ask my friends/relatives, ei help you pay bills...

To me 10 transactions/month is ok, but the jialat 1 is each transaction must be min. RM50,

Somehow i feel the rebates given very unwillingly

And they purposely exclude TM izzit?

Ya.... means we have to make this card for special purpose, for example

I apply this card just for Mobile, Utilities and Petrol

So just max out the card so that we get RM100 for the above 3 categories, just like what spikeman suggested

This is better than OCBC Titanium, coz you get 10% instead of 5%...this is threatening OCBC Titanium...(but OCBC Titanium no minimum swipe and minimum spending per month)

Then you can use your MBB2 Amex for others such as departmental store, pharmacies (watson & GUARDIAN etc)

First year free, so use 1 year and cut before the next GST & Annual Fee is due...haha

But assuming we max out the card, means we get RM100 x 12 = RM1200/year. Deducting RM150 (for gold), we still get RM1050/year, which is still very good

I know, those are simple calculations to do. But I feel like it's quite a hassle for me to keep track of all those things... You have to do at least 10x RM50 transaction, if you miss one, you dont get any rebate for that month.

So yeah. sad.gif

I think Mobile phone is a bonus category and only 1 transaction would be calculated so your maxis x3 MYR 50 would be consider as only 1 transaction.

If I had one TNB bill RM 500.

As I know from Cari forum, HL online does not provide online bill payment for TNB yet =.=''

If I go to TNB website (https://e-services.tnb.com.my/eservices) and do 10 times of RM50 online bill payment in 1 calendar month. Can I get 10% x 500 = RM50 rebate?

Example:
01/Jan pay TNB RM 50 online
02/Jan pay TNB RM 50 online
03/Jan pay TNB RM 50 online
04/Jan pay TNB RM 50 online
05/Jan pay TNB RM 50 online
06/Jan pay TNB RM 50 online
07/Jan pay TNB RM 50 online
08/Jan pay TNB RM 50 online
09/Jan pay TNB RM 50 online
10/Jan pay TNB RM 50 online

Any forumer has applied WISE card? Any WISE card user can prove my way can work? If can get 10% with this method, I am considering to apply one. drool.gif rclxms.gif

I believe u better revamp the 1st post to enrich the content to provide more information regarding the card. The mod here r abit sensitive to "low quality" threads. Previous Wise card thread was deleted due to this...

Also having same doubt. I have seperate maxis phone bills and broadband bills, no possibel to treat at 1 transaction only.
If you pay in 1 transaction RM100, this is quite straight forward consider as 1 transaction.
If pay 2 transaction RM50, should be treat as 2 transaction. This is just my thought.

No confirmation from TS or CS... so for now not sure yet...
Who had applied the card and tried it, pls share it's consider 1 transaction or 10 transactions?
I believe this is treat as 1 transaction only. Meaning no matter how many transactions paid to ONE bill, transactions treated as ONE.
If you have 10 TNB bills, then it is different story... laugh.gif brows.gif

Mobile related transacations is consider as ONE transactions because it's a bonus category. No matter how many time you split the bill.

Can we pay via Maxis E-Billing or need to go to Maxis Centre ?

3. How do I earn the 10% cash back?

Just swipe a minimum of any 10 retail transactions monthly (minimum of RM50 per transaction) to activate the 10% cash back on your selected cash back categories.

With this, I still think OCBC Titaniums is better hmm.gif

No, depend on ur spending pattern.
U have 3 categories to choose from. Then, total of 10 rm50 transaction per month to get rm50 cash back.
If spend 1k, will get rm100 cash back.

Hmm this better be true... coz last time i have such encounter whereby the actual offer is different from what the sales promised(HXXX bank), there is always a catch for whatever they advertised

I guess they just want to fast fast close the case, and earn the commission.

Agree.

But im not really concern on the number of transaction for my phone bills because my fuel usage is about rm150 per week sometimes more. So just swipe 3x per week, get 12 transactions already. Plus phone & broadband bills ~rm500/mth. Hope can get max rm100 CB every month. But now just hoping my application approved first then talk2 later. sweat.gif

You must be a hardcore traveller. Normally I burn around 50 per week only laugh.gif

Anyways, if your income > requirement, HLB would likely approve your application unless you got a history of something.

Update us when you get your card then.

Just curious - Did they tell you that GST MYR 50 would be offset after certain amount of swipe and 1st year annual fee would be free?

I am from Hong Leong Mortgage but this is what i understand about the card during the launching.

- First year annual fee will be waived subject to 1 swipe in 45 days upon card approval.
- As of now, 2nd and following year annual fee cannot be waived yet (Might change later).
-For Mobile, RM50 x 5 = 5 transactions.

Dont blame me if i am wrong. Since there are no other HLB Credit Card staff here, i am just trying to help based on my understanding about the card. However, i will try get a clarification from the person in charge.

I know, those are simple calculations to do. But I feel like it's quite a hassle for me to keep track of all those things... You have to do at least 10x RM50 transaction, if you miss one, you dont get any rebate for that month.

So yeah. sad.gif

isit? anyone can confirm these? or maybe if i got 10 transaction but 1 out of them i swipe oni 49.90..so i also not entitle?

If you are worried whether RM49.90 can get 10% cash back or 0%, just swipe >RM50 lah.... is that so difficult ???

My straight-forward plan: Swipe all transactions >RM50 for sure can earn my RM100 cash-back per month.

FAQ

3.
How do I earn the 10% cash back?

Just swipe a minimum of any 10 retail transactions monthly (minimum of RM50 per transaction) to activate the 10% cash back on your selected cash back categories.

What's the point of swiping other transactions (10 times x RM50) if not in the selected category... you get 0% cashback. that's not so wise

I agree there is no point.

But you are giving the wrong answer to the question.

If I swipe 9 transaction in selected category, and 1 transaction in other non-selected category, i have fulfilled the condition to get 10% cashback. But your answer is NO, it need to be 10 transactions from selected category + bonus category.

Please don't give wrong information.

HLBB.. they are good at making non-straightforward (COMPARED to the CCs released by other banks) credit cards.. e.g. fortune, mach, and now wise.
Don't like the 10 transaction (minimum RM50) per month to get the cashback part. Would be nice if you can swipe RM500 (or more) one shot to get the cashback. biggrin.gif

Yea, I agreed is wise answer. But people may misunderstood... Based on your answer, people may thought that MUST be 10 transactions within selected categories. Some people may find it hard to swipe 1 more RM50 transaction in selected category after 9 transactions above RM50 in selected category.

ok now it is clear to me. Looks like it is another good card to apply, besides the WATAMI.

First i thought , wah so susah.......... must swipe 10x in the restricted category only can get rebate..

Not necessary must swipe 10x in the 2 selected category, as long as we simply wipe 10X in any category we fullfil the requirement.
BUT 10% only applies to the selected category. i see this is not bad...better than if HLB insists must swipe 10x in only the selected category!.

Thanks celaw for making it clearer!!

As long as got 10%rebate good enufff la, even if we cant achieve the max, important thing is HLB allows us some laxity to qualify for the 10x swipe.........hooray!

NOW the question is how long is this 10% cashback promotion going to last?

Just applied thru my home bank yesterday. Let's see how fast HLB approve my application.
I had chosen petrol and groceries catergory.
My strategy to max up all my cash back CC is to give priority to Wise card on the 3 categories I entitled to 10%. As for other catergory of spendings, i will allocate it to MBB Amex2card and OCBC Ti.
Damn....! Need to carry 3 cards doh.gif

If you won't swipe first 10 transactions above RM50 (based on selected category), you don't get NETT 10% cashback.
IMHO, if you can't do that, better don't apply....

As example
Scenario 1
1. Swipe RM50 x 10 at non-selected category = RM500
2. Swipe RM200 at 2 selected categories = RM200
3. Total Cashback received : RM20
4. Nett Cashback % : RM20 / (RM500+RM200) = 2.85% cool2.gif whistling.gif

Scenario 2
1. Swipe RM50 x 10 at non-selected category = RM500
2. Swipe RM1000 at 2 selected categories = RM1000
3. Total Cashback received : RM100
4. Nett Cashback % : RM100 / (RM500+RM1000) = 6.67% cool2.gif whistling.gif

Scenario 3
1. Swipe RM50 x 10 at 2 selected categories = RM500
2. Swipe RM200 at 2 selected categories = RM200
3. Total Cashback received : RM70
4. Nett Cashback % : RM70 / (RM500+RM200) = 10% cool2.gif whistling.gif

Scenario 4
1. Swipe RM50 x 10 at 2 selected categories = RM500
2. Swipe RM500 at 2 selected categories = RM500
3. Total Cashback received : RM100
4. Nett Cashback % : RM100 / (RM500+RM500) = 10% cool2.gif whistling.gif --- maximum Rebate per month

ok i just called CS - NO waiver at all, must pay annual fee and pay GTS That is a minimum of RM200 for gold card, platinum card pay more!!

so before get any CB already kena RM200 if u take gold card.

If later cash back cant' get max RM100 per month, may end up worse than our OCBC RM600 per card per year, mine is RM1200 per for 2 cards and also other rebates from my amex cards....

NOw this is something for us to consider.... if we have difficulty swiping all transactions on the seleceted category may be not worth rushing to get it as ronnie has pointed out....

First i thought got waiver wanna simply apply, now cannot simply take already must calculate properly first how much our CB will be since only seleceted category got CB... aiseh susah.........to calculate...

Me and my colleague also got conflict. Both of us are interested n called the Call Centre and but ended up with conflicting answers regards to the 10 transactions, whether it is only applies to the selected category or open to all.

Life is already very hectic. Now, WISE is making us not so wise with so many people confused with the feature and the feedback from their call centre.

Take CS words with a pinch of salt, my gut feeling tells me HLB will waive AF upon request. Even with AF, Wise is still giving the best CB in town.

Better stick to petrol and groceries only. Let OCBC Ti takes care of restaurant. No more headache.

I only trust the black and white writting and I think the tnc and FAQ clearly explained the 10 tranxs rules.
I was told by my home branch staff that the min 10 tranxs and CB must be transacted within billing cycle doh.gif whereas the tnc clearly stated it is base on calendar month basis.

basically to 'enjoy' this you must spend more to save more.

Unless you can control your usage to be around Rm50/transaction (Which IMHO is tough) you will get less than the 10% advertised

First year annual fee is waiver subject to 1swipe in 45 days upon card approval. This is confirmed.

Cash back is calculated based on CALENDAR month from every 1st to the last day of the month. Cash back will be credited directly into the WISE Card account in the 28th of the NEXT month.

actually not good.

it's like a card u need to monitor.

10 trans, min RM50.00

(If less 1 tran, all trans incurred wont get even 1% cash back.)

Why we need to risk for this?

Having OCBC , MBB 2 cards, SCB 15% petrol card is good enough for me.

Maybe will consider this card after 6 months SCB 15% expired.

Quite clear la....3 categories, min 10 x RM50 tranx, max RM100 CB per calender month. For those who can easily hit 10 x RM50up under petrol, mobile and groceries should not be complicated at all.

Well different people have different needs. This card is designed so that you would only use this card for your CC needs.

Anyway, for the 10x transactions for RM50 a month.. if you spend RM120 in a single transaction, is it considered 1x RM50-and-above transaction or 2xRM50 transaction?

RM120 is a single transaction = 1 transaction above RM50

Guys, some of you mentioned we need to monitor our expenses.
Ask yourself la......do you do that? You probably do it first 1-2 months, after that you totally forgotten about it.

My opinion, it is indeed a rich reward card, but at the same time the 10x transaction is way too much a hassle for me to track on a monthly basis.

At times, i have high spend in a single month but at the same time i don't hit 10x spend. So, end of the day......i got "Empty Egg" lo cry.gif

If they set the criteria, at least spend RM500 in a month (10 transaction x RM50 = RM500).....i'll be the first to sign up. rclxms.gif

we are not finding loophole, but we need to make sure everything is clear... now it's the T&C not clear... vmad.gif

for my case in a month, I swipe petrol 4 x 60 and tnb 1 x 120 and syabas 1 x 60 and mobile 1 x 155 , only 7 transactions.
if mobile and tnb can pay in different day and consider different transaction, they will become
- 4 x 60 petrol
- 2 x 60 tnb
- 1 x 60 syabas
- 2 x 50 mobile + 1 x 55 mobile
TOTAL 10 transactions icon_rolleyes.gif

So i terpaksa need to calculative laugh.gif rclxub.gif

I think probably because my name was used to register a company and have an account with HLB. Yesterday only received a call offering me Business Platinum which I turned down.

Think so much for what?

My opinion is that it's so easy to reclaim the RM50 GST back with the cash back. Just try it out and if don't like, cancel lor. I don't think hard to track, or easier just swipe 3times a week.

You can always do RM100 x 10 transactions to maximise RM100 cash-back per month.

today went to HLB do some other things, the staff there told me to apply, said 1st year annual fee will be waived, i asked sure or not, she said she already called CS- 1st year FOC, so i signed up for the card.

I told her if i kena AF charge i wont take the card, she said NO AF for 1st year! CS also cannot agree with each other, tell different things to different callers.... sigh...

i chose the grocery and petrol, i think this 2 category easier to swipe 10X. Go tesco, jusco, giant buy till RM50 stop. then pay another bill easily can get 10x swipe.

only problem is the Wise swipes will eat into my PBB that requires 8- 12x swipes for that RM120 CB, promotion till 31.4.13.

now got so many cards, really have to plan to gain the max..........

my plan:
OCBC easy- pay TNB 1k 1k each done.
PBB swipe 8-12x first week only.
After that swipe WISE 10x petrol and grocery

Next - Amex all others on weekends, pay Telekom online. Balance weekends shopping,

WATAMI I am going to get too - swipe all others not in category above especially insurance premium where Amex/OCBC wont accept. Everything else also is acceptable to WATAMI as long as not instalment or finance charges etc., But The CS told me Petrol no 3% CB! So petrol is one exception in retail swipes..no rebate.

My expenses mainly comprise of TNB (4bills), TM (1bill), Petrol (RM50 x 3) , Each of the 8 swipes are confirmed above RM50.

Since WISE card restricts to 2 spending categories, therefore I can only count on TNB and Petrol, which add up to 7 bills.

Need to "create" extra spending (eg. dining), then only can be eligible for 10% cashback.

The restriction of 2 spending categories is just so tricky mad.gif

I hv submitted via hlb.com.my

Just opt for Gold and Visa. Cant choose WISE card, no such options.

I heard this card you gotta pay RM160+50 yearly

It's worth than OCBC if monthly able to claim RM100.00 monthly.

Need to monitor for a total spending of RM1000 and above like OCBC. Average bill RM100.00

Priority charge is to WISE CARD, then OCBC, then overflow to MBB. Haha!! Good!~

This card the cash back is calculated as per RM50 block or any amount in between also can ? Let say i accidently fill up petrol for RM51,i'll get cash back of Rm5 or Rm5.10 ? For their Essential card card their cash back system is per RM1 BLOCK.

Same. Wise rebate given to the nearest RM

Yesterday was quite crowded in the branch. The branch manager was at the desk handling my cc application. Besides, she also made a few calls for some clarification.
I also remember reading from news that the free AF/GST is part of the launching offer. Like this one.

My understanding as per TnC is yes, you'll get RM100 cb, but only on 28th of the following month and not by end month.

Like that not sure...maybe you can call their cs and find out.

All existing HLB and Ex-EON card user can apply for this card and enjoy 1st year annual fee waiver subject to 1 swipe in 45 days upon card approval..

Existing HLB card holders can apply for Wise card without submitting new income documents. Just request to apply for the new card at branch and provide a copy of IC.

Ex EON bank card user need provide income documents to apply.

Thx for the advise, been reviewing my past credit card record.....some months hit more than 10 transactions and some months don't hit......Still scratching my head, to apply or not to apply.....that is the question. doh.gif

Reason why the Petrol station have 2 different terminals is that one is for the pump terminal and another one is for the "convenience store". So, if you pump inside the convenience store, WISE already mentioned that they will ony entertain the MCC 5542 only.

So, smart consumer out there.......be wary of offers which they state down "MCC" codes. When they do this, we must do our homework as well. Check the link below. cool2.gif

Definitely wouldn't get the CC before CNY.
By the time I get this CC it will be after mid Feb, so I wouldn't use this card for Feb due to lack of time to spend 10x min RM50.

i aslo received my card today. Statement date 31st, so this CNY when i travel can easily get petrol RM50 x 4 already. Balance 6 swipes go for grocery from now till end of month should be able to get max CB RM100.

And came with the card is stated:
AF waived and GST rebate RM50 guaranteed after swipe 1x withinn 45 days. but only to new to bank card holder??

I called CS, she said AF is waived also for existing HLB card holder, but GST must pay.

Applied on 1st Feb and received the card on 14th Feb.
GST already charged into the acct.
Will keep the card and start using only from 1st March.
Anyone know if HL has the sms alert upon using the card? Can set limit to RM1?

Update: Called CS, the agent said the sms alert is there for all transaction regardless of amount.

Successfully activated my WISE card today and logged in to Hong Leong Connect wanted to pay TNB bill. Unfortunately my WISE card was not listed in the ""Pay From Account" in the ""Bill Payment"".
doh.gif Sienz... HLB always have this type of blunder. mad.gif
The WISE card was listed in the ""Account Overview"" though.

Everyone just got their card and not even their CC statement generated.
Let's wait for the "guinea pigs" to report their result somewhere next month.

Good scenario which need to be tested:

RM 100 gloceries bill to split off 2 swipe.. RM 50 each, consider as 2?
Even phone bill as if my uMobile bill is up to RM 150, I paid each time RM 50, so is it consider as 3 times in a month?

Cheers.

To my understanding, it should be counted as 3 transactions but to confirm it, we need to wait for the statement.

Now my first priority is given to WISE card for the three spend categories, next in line is MBB2card Amex, third OCBC Ti, fourth CITIBank CB.
Maximum CB is RM230 + 5000 MBB TP (RM25) per month.

i think we better dont consider the split bills as 2 transactions.

However if you can do the grocery in 2 transactions at 2 different counters and arbiterary after an interval of 3o mins, i think that would be okay.

Definitely not the way i did it the other day, 2 swipes at the same counter , worse , within 3 mins only!

So make sure you add in another transaction as security measure.

Just reading the t&c;
(b) The Cardholder will be awarded with 10% cash rebate (the “Cash-Back”) on posted retail transactions depending on the spending categories duly enrolled (the “Enrolments”) and subject to fulfillment of clause (2) and (3) as stated below.
(b) To be eligible to earn Cash-Back for the month, the Cardholder must have a minimum of any Ten (10) retail transactions (the “Transaction”) in the same calendar month and each with a minimum amount of Ringgit Malaysia Fifty (RM50).

From what I get and your examples, rebate is given based on the Enrolments but the 10 transactions can be any 10 retail transactions.

From the FAQ
3. How do I earn the 10% cash back?
Just swipe a minimum of any 10 retail transactions monthly (minimum of RM50 per transaction) to activate the 10% cash back on your selected cash back categories.
12. Do I enjoy any cash back on other spend outside of enrolled cash back categories?
No, you are eligible for the 10% cash back on retail transactions based on your selected cash back category.
15. Which retail transactions are eligible for the minimum 10 swipes?
Eligible retail transactions include local and international retail and online purchases, recurring payments, insurance premiums, 0% Interest Easy Payment Plan (one time principal amount only) and Easy Payment Installment Plan (one time principal amount only); EXCLUDING, cash advance, balance transfer, Cash-on-Call, Call-for- Cash, Flexi-Payment Plan, fund transfer, fees and charges imposed by the Bank.

I would expect a one stop bill payment gateway with preregistered billers for ease of payments from HLB connect.
You still can't pay TNB online using WC, not sure about Digi, Celcom and Umobile though.

I have tried, when choose Maxis/Celcom/Digi under pay bill Telco&Internet, no option to select Wise card. Same for TNB under Utilities.
Unifi does support paying using Wise card, but there is no rewards to pay Unifi using Wise card.
Probably to use Wise to pay telco bill is as per some suggested to pay at telco website or maybe register Wise card at m2u. I have seen the feature but never get to try it. Anyone tried before? Or maybe payonline or portal that support thirdparty cc.

Called CS today and found out the following for sharing:
1. SMS alert for using Wise card - if online with OTP, no SMS alert; if online w/o OTP, sms alert for any amount. If retails swipes, sms alert for > RM1k. (The last CS reps told me any mount. rclxub.gif ) To change the threshold amount, need to fill form at branch. shakehead.gif Anyone has any experience in changing the threshold amount for Wise card?

2. Wise card transaction at HL connect - currently only can see principal card transactions but not supp card transactions. mad.gif (This apply to all HL cc not just Wise. The last CS reps said can see. rclxub.gif ) One can check supp trans from hardcopy statement or call CS. What a low tech bank. doh.gif This cause inconveniences in tracking our 10x swipes thingie.

3. Statement date - can change to any of the following day of the month: 1,3,4,11,15,17,19,21,24,25,26,27,29.

Disclaimer: Don't quote me, these were told to me, as you know we do get different answers from different CS reps. sweat.gif

Yes. That the form which you need to SNAIL MAIL to HLB direct... don;t pass to the branch (at least not the HLB Pusat Bandar Puchong).
You can set to RM1 ... Wise Card should be same as any HLB CC.

Guys just for your info:

5411 - Grocery Stores, Supermarkets
5422 - Freezer and Locker Meat Provisioners (not included by Wise, but by OCBC Titanium)
5451 - Dairy Products Stores (not included by Wise, but by OCBC Titanium)

5811 - Caterers
5812 - Eating Places, Restaurants
5813 - Drinking places (not included by Wise, but by OCBC Titanium)
5814 - Fast food

5541 - Service stations (not included by Wise, but by OCBC Titanium)
5542 - Automated Fuel Dispensers

4814 - Telecommunication Services (under Wise's mobile category, only stated the company but not the MCC code, so not sure is this MCC code accepted or not, but it is for OCBC Titanium)
4815 - Cable, Satellite, and Other Pay Television and Radio (not included by Wise, but by OCBC Titanium)
4816 - Computer Network Services (not included by Wise, but by OCBC Titanium)
4821 - Telegraph Services (not included by Wise, but by OCBC Titanium)
4900 - Utilities

Anyway, be careful with paying inside of petrol stations. Might not be accepted, since Wise only accepts MCC 5242 which is Automated Fuel Dispensers

Yup I think so too. In that case we can't pay inside sad.gif. Have to revert back to my OCBC Titanium if I urgently need fuel and the pump credit card readers are down.

Anyway, to maximize the rebates from this card, it really pushes you to spend really 'Wisely'. Now I will need to alternate with my other cards in other to take advantage as much rebates as I can.

My current CC usage to maximize rebates:

- For all dining, petrol and mobile everyday, use HL Wise (10%) *Using Mobile, Petrol and Dining category, and assumption that i can fulfill RM50*10 transactions per month
- For everything besides dining, petrol and movie on weekends, use MBB Maybankard2 AMEX (7.5%)
- For groceries, drinking bars, convenience stores, other bills on weekdays, use OCBC Titanium (5%)
- For everything else, use MBB Maybankard2 Amex (2.5%)
- For everything else without AMEX, use OCBC Titanium (1%)

For the next quarter I will gauge my usage of the last 2 tier (2.5% and 1%) and if my usage exceeds RM3k per quarter, I will consider to Apply for the AEON Watami card, so I can take advantage of the 3% daily cashback for every retail transaction.

Interest is 15% pa at best and 18%pa at worst. Since HLB only rebate 28th following month, means, you will be charged interest first...right? But still nett, assuming best case scenario...you win by 10% ie only pay 5%-8% interest.

How does WISE compare to MBB2 card with 8.88% interest and sumore give 5% cashback?
+ 5x points
+ Free for life

Or any other cards with lower interest with cashback?

I think we should also take the interest into consideration...no? As well as all/any fees etc to better compare with other cards.

*
Not for me.
I will take all their cashback and will not let them charge me any interest. tongue.gif

It will be counted as 4 times but the problem is there is no way to break it to 4 payments. You must pay the full amount.

Of course you won't get 10%, cos the MCC in the Petrol Cashier(5541) is different from what WISE Petrol rebate uses (5542)

Can you also confirm the following:-
1. Does the calculation of 10% rebate is based on all transactions in a calendar month (not statement month)
2. Which date does the Cash Rebate goes in : every 1st of the next month or last day of the next month ?

Huh? Why cannot? blink.gif
Do you mean in the Maxis portal or from bill payment in HL connect?
And I remember we can even overpay. I did that a few times during the ocbc bill payment promo.

Update: As tested before, can't choose Wise to pay for Maxis bill in HL Connect. What a disappointment. Then got to pay in Maxis portal. sad.gif

Maxis portal. But just couple of days ago, maxis launch a new bill payment service where you can pay any amount as you like. One must preregistered credit card similar to that of PayPal, then future payments does not require keying in cc details again. Ive lost the info link. Please search the web and post the link here.

For existing EON Bank credit card holder, you will need to submit your income documents. But for Hong Leong Bank credit card holder, you don't have to.

Seems like everytime i pump petrol for rm50, i will receive a sms saying that rm200 is instead charged. I called up to hong leong and they clarify that the petrol station will hold rm200 as a advance amount and will reverse 3-4 days later.

They also mention that it is a bank negara ruling and that all credit cards used will also face the same thing.

Anyone face the same situation?

Update: been 20days and I gave a call to the CS last week. They claimed my card was cancelled and not rejected. I followed through with the Agent from the branch and she was kind enough to follow up her applications. Seems HLB called my office number and if it is not a direct line, they will hold the application. doh.gif

I updated the direct number and now it is back to processing status. Quite strict their application processing. OCBC/MBB2card was a breeze. Plus I cancelled my StandChart card. Perhaps if I had a couple of hundred Ks in their FD, they will not be so picky.. nod.gif

This is turning out to be a pain. LOL. Updated the new number and they claimed they called and it did not get through as well. Apparently this is one of their strict measures to avoid identity theft and they must call in and verify with my HR of my current working state. They have now officially rejected my application.

I am going to reapply this time but gonna tweak some information. Being legitimate does not work for HLB.

Got my 10% CB too, paid precisely on 28th March.

Maxis Home Fibre payment also considered as mobile category and entitle to 10% CB.

Petrol transactions swiped at the cashier's CC terminals not entitle to CB. Only swiped at the pump entitle to CB.

Giant hypermarket, yes 10% CB under grocery category.

AEON BIG formerly Carrefour, any one tested it ? should be entitled CB under grocery category even thought the name changed. AEON formerly Jusco is under department store though.

Depending on your monthly spending frequency. if you are a sales and marketing guy, the petrol alone no need split also can hit 10 times min RM50. If you are an office guy, then you may want to split it.

Unless you spend less than rm500 on phone bill, broadband, petrol and grocery on your monthly living expenses.
I heard it's not easy to get this card. Those who can qualify for this card surely have a decent monthly income and warrant such spendings.

Paying rm100 per month CB to each qualified card holder is a loss making business if every single WISE card holder max out the CB. I guess HLB is pretty confident that it can cover the loss by CB saving on card holders who fail to hit 10x >Rm50 tranx, spent on other categories not entitle to CB, merchant discounts and lastly the main bulk of income is coming from interest charge on outstanding balance.

I guess HLB is pretty confident that it can cover the loss by CB saving on card holders who fail to hit 10x >Rm50 tranx, spent on other categories not entitle to CB, merchant discounts and lastly the main bulk of income is coming from interest charge on outstanding balance.

if you don't swipe 10 transactions (>RM50), you get RM0.00 Cash Back doh.gif doh.gif

I'm not sure if this has been asked before

After getting the 10 transactions (>RM50), do I still need to spend more than RM50 for the subsequent transactions to get the rebate?

Once you hit 10x >RM50 transactions, any amount spent under the selected categories will be entitled to CB.

Did Hong Leong Bank specifically state what they mean by calendar month?

Is it 1st day to last day of the month?

Is it 28th of last month to 28th of this month?

SHARE INFO!

1. I have been swipe 10 times in FEB 2013 in the category I choose. Every time more that RM50.

2. I get RM0 rebate, because three of the transaction I swipe in 27 FEB but post on 1 MAR.

3. I call up customer service, they let me know rebate is count on posting date!!!

4. Base on my knowledge in term and condition of HLB Wise Card, 2(B) To be eligible to earn Cash-Back for the month, the Cardholder must have a minimum of any Ten (10) retail transactions (the “Transaction”) in the same calendar month and each with a minimum amount of Ringgit Malaysia Fifty (RM50).

5. May I know why most of the bank can do transaction and posting date in the same day please? Why Hong Leong Bank cant make it please? They answer me every bank is different.

6. Why Hong Leong Bank know I transact on the same month but they still ignore it and say they are counting on posting date please?

7. Regard posting date, I call customer service and ask how many day you need to post up a transaction please? They say two days. Im very sorry to inform you. I have a transaction you use up to 4 days to post it up. (This is a week day office hour transaction!)

8. For me, I can control transaction date but I cant control posting date. This is really unfair to be a customer.

9. FOR HONG LEONG BANK IF YOU REALLY DIDNT WANT TO RETURN SOMETHING TO CUSTOMER, PLEASE WITHDRAW YOUR PROMOTION! PLEASE DO PROMOTION WITH INTEGRITY!

Conclusion:
I will make a complaint to BANK NEGARA. After that, I will post up the result here. Maybe I look stupid here but I will fight for my right!

OCBC Titanium also based on posting date too.
I remember the WISE card TnC did mentioned clearly POSTED RETAIL TRANSACTIONS and my understanding is it must be a posted transactions.
Anyway, your three transactions on 27th feb will be treated as Posted transactions in March, so you are still getting the CB if you qualify for it in March.

Just swipe the 10x >rm50 tranx as early as possible in order to avoid the tranx and posting date delay.

Sometimes some small merchants don't do daily settlement, so you can't really blame the bank delaying the posting.

As I know Maybankard2 AMEX is able to transact & post on the same day.
Also OCBC Online Banking transactions can transact & post on the same day.

Others CC/banks: Be prepared to wait 1-3 days before getting posted. Posting is done by merchant and processed by bank.

If you are smart, late Posting can be used to your advantage......

Ooo....I am a little surprise to see this, even the TnC would say "Posted Transactions"...
I am having the impression that they will count all transaction with transaction date within the calendar month and posted within 28 days, since they only post the CB on 28th of the following month....hence they have 28 days for those transactions to be posted.

For MB2 Amex, since CB is posted on 1st of following month, hence can only count "posted" transaction before end of last month.
For OCBC, since CB is posted on statement date, again can only count posted transaction within statement cycle.

Do you also see any of your transactions near Feb end and not counted on CB posted on 28 March?

Allow me to ask another question to those who have receive CB...
Must the first 10 transactions be > RM50? (See, this is different than at least 10x RM50 within the month).
Says I swipe 5x > RM50, then 3x < RM50, then 5x > RM50, then 4x < RM50. (says all 17 transactions within the categories and posted within the month.)
The "3x < RM50" should get CB as well right? Hence all 17 transactions get CB, right?

I did swiped on 30 and 31 Mar, shall see what goes into my CB on 28th Apr. sweat.gif

Yes I do. I had 1 tranx on 27th Feb not posted in Feb statement. The said tranx was subsequently posted on 1st of March and counted as Posted Transaction in March statement and entitle to CB.

The key words are (minimum of any)
Whatever ORDER does not matter. As long as you have MINIMUM of 10x >RM50 in the same calender month.
