sent there bcoz it freeze on me after pull it from charger. sweat.gif

its just that I hear a lot of people on wpcentral that bricked their unit, so I'll try ask the techs later if hard reset will cause any trouble.

I'll share the info later.

That is not how we should subject ourselves to when using a smartphone. I hope the battery issue will be sorted out by firmware updates.

I agree. but then we would need to wait for the next update which promise better battery life.

Trying not to charge battery too many times per day or not battery life will end b4 the year end sad.gif

Try to share some experience here....

One of the key main point that determine the battery life is the quality of the signal,

let me explain here..

When I am in my KL house where the signal is strong (4 full bar with HSDPA signal almost the time), my battery can last around 30+ hours

But when i balik kampung where the signal is weak (1-3 bar signal with sometime Edge, sometime GPRS, sometime HSDPA, keep on changing), my battery can only last around 12 hours... morning charge full, 4-5 pm already drop below 25%...

I've done the hard reset before when I first bought the phone on the same day.
I used a different email for the windows store so I wanna change it. I hard reset without having any problems.

People having a lot of problems with this phone while I got none. Quite satisfied. tongue.gif

That is correct, because basically it works like this

- If phone is set to use 3G
- whenever the phone is NOT on 3G, do a scan of ALL networks
- Is there a 3G network which the phone can attach to?
- No... then scan again after a while.

As you would expect, this consumes a LOT of power. It's also why if you set connection to 2G only it'll save power. We used to be able to set the connection to "3G ONLY" so it doesn't search for 2G when it's not on 3G. But obviously.. your phone won't be online when there's no 3G network then.

Indeed correct signal quality is one of the factor that effect battery life. So combination of how the phone manage the battery + signal = bad battery life.

Like my case on note 2 on maxis 3G the battery life is even battery than 2.5G

Lumia with the same maxis i still get very bad battery life.

guys, again, need some help regarding the mobile operator tile not displaying properly. instead of My Celcom, it only says 'Local operator network'. haih.

edit;

also, is there any app that can handle turning the WiFi and/or phone to silent? its tiresome going into settings to change these values all the time.

Signal fluctuates depending on traffic. Thus not constant.

how to create? turning WiFi/bluetooth/silent on/off are inside the setting, not as a standalone app.

for wifi/data/bluetooth, can use ConnectivityShortcuts...
as for silent, tough luck as you need to go to settings to switch from either silent or vibrate..
note that if you just wanna turn off the ring, you can just press the volume button once then hit the icon on top right
