QUOTE(moomanhang @ Jan 10 2013, 10:55 AM) so the only way to conserve battery (to last more then a day) is to always have your data is 2G, change to 3G when you are only surfing the net, FB, or any other app that requires 3G speed. whats at 2G still ok. That is not how we should subject ourselves to when using a smartphone. I hope the battery issue will be sorted out by firmware updates.yesterday usage manage to last after work at 43%. usually i would have to charge at work to last the entire day. so yeah have to be rajin to switch when using This post has been edited by PeeEl: Jan 10 2013, 11:19 AM |

Don't know about you guys out there but I do not buy phones or for that matter, anything, just to be 'in' or with the crowd. That is shallow. I buy phones to suit my needs or which take my fancy.

QUOTE(chaos435 @ Jan 14 2013, 02:38 PM) Any idea on whether Nokia receiving trade in from previous Lumia generation? I'm currently holding a 900, feel like changing to 920. just a thought. Dealers probably but Nokia Stores themselves do not. However, you will get more money selling it yourself rather than trading in. They will offer you 'cut-throat' price. |

QUOTE(DamnHebat @ Jan 15 2013, 11:48 PM) no idea also, i survey around the mall, ask there and here and all the price was RM1900, cheapest was RM1880, then my gf said why don't u ask the nokia center price, expensive a little, but u don't have to worry if it's original or not. So i go to the sales person and said "I'm ready to buy Lumia 920, give me your best price and i'll take it" and he go talk to the supervisor and come with RM1800, terus take it! haha! There are shops selling at that price. I suppose they want to deplete the stock for the black units because it is the least in demand.I own the black colour L920. |

QUOTE(kytan @ Jan 16 2013, 12:05 AM) Friends, I suggest you wait out for the original nokia CC-1043 casing to be available in Malaysia. The fit is just perfect! Once put in, its like the casing is part of the phone. A note of caution here. It has been reported that the colour of the original casing wearing off on the phone. So, if you are buying a darker coloured casing to fit on a lighter coloured phone, just take cognizance. |

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ Jan 16 2013, 12:33 AM) Any specific brand to warn us? My Nilkin one seems to be injection mold color, no problem, but like some others said, button not accurate. Was thinking of looking around for more. It's the Nokia original casing. I in fact read it somewhere in this forum.I believe the reason is the material which is the 'soft' type as opposed to the Nillkin and Rock ones which are hard. |

A caveat. That was for the 900. It could well be that Nokia has improved on their QC since then and it may be fine now.
In any event, better safe than sorry. |

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ Jan 16 2013, 01:18 AM) Never happened to me before, including my older phones. My old phones get scratched because i drop them while they are naked. The Nilkin one, the fitting surface inside is rubbery in terms of feel, outside is rugged hard plastic feel. That's good. So long as you ensure, or at least try to ensure no small particles like sand seep in between the casing and the phone. |

QUOTE(m0r31d8ng3l @ Jan 18 2013, 10:55 PM) Mines nokia store. Bear in mind! Maybe I did get conned but didn't care anymore. It really is 2099 because if yellow must buy with the Bluetooth headset. They refused to sell only phone because yellow is a hot item. This store overall still like those normal stores rather than the hello station nokia stores. But seems like only they had stock. You did not get conned. You just succumbed to the supply shortage and added to the demand ratio. Anyway, RM100 for a Bluetooth is not that bad. |

QUOTE(c2_lover @ Jan 18 2013, 11:01 PM) i bought mine from there too... why must buy with bluetooth headset? weird.... what bluetooth headset is that? It is called profiteering. To put it in a nicer way, it is bundling. When a product is in high demand and supply is short, dealers will bundle it with another article that can reap high profits and need you to buy it with the item. It's take it or leave it. |

QUOTE(vinesh22 @ Jan 20 2013, 03:33 AM) Ah, so I'm back in my hometown for a week (JB), and I'm planning to get my 920 sometime next week. If you have actually gone through the posts here and pretty much know WP8 is for you, go for it. Just make sure whatever you need in a 'smartphone' is available.Been reading through the whole thread, and I'm pretty impressed by what I've seen so far. Good that everyone's friendly when it comes to sharing advice. Anyway, will update once I get mine. Oh yeah, I will most probably be getting it from Digi since I'm currently using Hotlink prepaid, and I reckon a postpaid account would be better in the long term when it comes to smartphones and the fact that I wanna be connected on the go most of the times, no? Transitioning from a SE W995 actually, so this will be my first smartphone since I've never really needed all the connectivity till recently. I'm pretty familiar with both ios and android, so I hope WP8 shouldn't take that long to get used to.. I have intention to try out WP8 and eyed the 920 for some time but after really studying how the OS is and what is available, its pros and cons, I am having second thoughts. Don't get me wrong, it is a good phone but the main question is, does it suit your needs? And only you can answer that question. |
