Hi t3n,

The latest firmware will hide the Guest Network when you hide the general 2.4GHz.

Because the Guest Network are 2.4GHz too, so when you hide the general 2.4GHz, the Guest Network for the 2.4GHz will hide too.

Thank you

The old firmware can hide general wifi while guest wifi still visible.. sad...

Hi I have a ASUS AC68U router...i bought this router few years back when i initial setup it will show special requirement for Unif Home, BIZ or maxis etc...however recently i change ISP to unifi and when i try to setup the PPPoE it didnt show the special requirement option for me...could anyone assist on this???
Previously i was using Maxis and now change to Unifi which required VLAN setting in ASUS router...i had done factory reset, firmware recovery and whatever i could to get the option for Unifi, but i have no luck on this...can any sifu advise on this? Milion thanks in advanced.

I'm using RT-AC68U as well. On the more recent firmwares, you have to select Unifi-Home profile from LAN > IPTV page.

Hi lotus_man,

So far we don't have the solution for this. If you want to use the IPTV, maybe you can set the ASUS router as second router or as access point.

Thank you
*
possible to guide me on this?
i just spent 400 on this router sad.gif

If you are on hardware revision 1.4 note that Asus had updated their hardware. Only Asus would know what the fixes are.

I have been wanting to buy a mesh Wi-Fi setup and had been eyeing the TP-Link Deco M5. Asus also have their Lyra but it cost a whopping 2k. But today I saw it selling at their mid valley roadshow at 50% off. Was very tempted until I read all the negative reviews at Amazon 😅

It is actually a lot better now.

Used to be terrible as Asus messed up the firmware. sweat.gif

The performance is better than Deco and it works with Unifi. Deco is a dual band while the Lyra is a tri band system.

Ya spec wise. I read a recent review date feb 2018. The review says the wifi is weak
I dunno. 1k seems like a big gamble
So do you recommend deco or Lyra?

Neither laugh.gif
Get 2 Asus router and run AiMesh biggrin.gif

The mesh solution from both companies are not perfect. Most consumer mesh solutions have their own issues.

The issue with Lyra styles device is you need to place them properly due to their size. The signal will get blocked easily. They will work the best if you ceiling mount them.

Got a QOS question. I'm using a RT-AC87U.
I've setup "Adaptive QOS". I know I cannot setup "Bandwidth Limiter" at the same time.
I want to know if I'm able to setup "Bandwidth Limiter" via the Asus Android App. I see the feature in there. Do I still get the benefit of Adaptive QOS in the router while using the Bandwidth Limiter feature in the Asus Android App?

As I can see each device connected and there is a feature to limit upload and download via the app.

used to have this last time. then they updated the app and took out the feature.

u could limit regardless in ap mode etc etc etc..

Just upgraded my Unifi to 50MB, now using Asus N12HP router.

Plan to upgrade to dual band, budget RM300-RM500.

Can recommend one?

No gaming, only watch youtube, surfing, online movie, downloading huge emails etc

Whats wrong with yr router, why u need dual band?

Rtn12hp 2.4ghz is v good for 50mbps.

U wont get more with dual band for thatnspeed.

100mbps, u need to change.
