Hi everybody, I just bought ASUS RT-AC86U but when I setup the internet connection under PPPoe. There is no special requirement from isp box to tick. How can I connect to uniFi if that’s the case?

Check to see if you have the right password. Otherwise, you have to hard reset and configure everything again.

No worries. Check online on the Asus website for the manual. They usually have a PDF copy.

Hi Guys, im using AC1200, currently im suspecting my neighbor is stealing my connection, as i saw unknown devices connecting through my wireless internet.

May i know is there a way to block specific IP?
Just change the password lah
Make sure the password is not something that people can guess

And advise your family members to not share the password with anyone

Would you be able to post the hardware revision for the AC86U?

Also monitor the 5GHz network and on the latest firmware 384.20467 is your 5GHz network dropping after a couple of days and requires a reboot?

Thanks

2.4ghz range is longer than 5ghz.. so if u upgrade to dual band.. it doesnt increase your range...
if u get a better router, u will get a better range...

Not sure what router has a better range. As this one already has a long antenna

rtn12hp is excellent for wifi up to 50mbps.

above that, it can't do well... need an ac router.

if u tell what speed u hv now, kind of home, devices, distances required for wifi, people can comment more.

Hi I have a ASUS AC68U router...i bought this router few years back when i initial setup it will show special requirement for Unif Home, BIZ or maxis etc...however recently i change ISP to unifi and when i try to setup the PPPoE it didnt show the special requirement option for me...could anyone assist on this???
Previously i was using Maxis and now change to Unifi which required VLAN setting in ASUS router...i had done factory reset, firmware recovery and whatever i could to get the option for Unifi, but i have no luck on this...can any sifu advise on this? Milion thanks in advanced.

Just manually tag VLAN500 for Internet and VLAN600 for HyppTV and you will be okay. Update your firmware and do that.

Hi t3n,

The latest firmware will hide the Guest Network when you hide the general 2.4GHz.

Because the Guest Network are 2.4GHz too, so when you hide the general 2.4GHz, the Guest Network for the 2.4GHz will hide too.

Thank you
