QUOTE(charlieyee9199 @ Nov 6 2013, 11:42 PM) me either, had consult with the salesman I bought from. Want Astro IPTV? Only for the desperadotill now haven't got any solution. wish all sifu here could give me big hand to configure. Step 1 -------- Connect LAN cable from modem to WAN Port on n66u Login AsusWRT > WAN tab > Connection Type (PPOE) > Connect To DNS Automatically (No) > DNS Server 1 8.8.8.8 DNS Server 2 8.8.4.4 > Input Username & Password > Save Step 2 -------- Connect LAN cable from STB to LAN 4 Port on n66u Login AsusWRT > LAN tab > IPTV sub tab > ISP Profile (Manual) > Internet VID 621 > LAN Port 4 VID 623 (IPTV) > Enable multicast routing (IGMP Proxy) Enable > Enable efficient multicast forwarding (IGMP Snooping) Enable > Save. Restart Router Step 3 -------- You will notice that you have only 1 channel available and can't change to others everytime you restart your STB. To fix this, you must:- Unplug cable from LAN 4 and install to LAN 1, Wait around 10 Seconds, Change channel on STB to something you subscribed to, leave it on that channel even if it says no internet connection, unplug cable from LAN 1 and put it back into LAN 4. Your screen should have video and audio in about 5 seconds. Other problem that might occur, IPTV Lag. You will notice that the channels don't change even if you press the digits on your remote and will change only after a minute or two. Solution, restart STB, cycle your n66u. For better performance, disable firewall, DOS protection. |

QUOTE(charlieyee9199 @ Nov 6 2013, 11:42 PM) me either, had consult with the salesman I bought from. Hi I finally got it to work, it would appear that Astro gave me the wrong password, there is no warning in the router if you enter the wrong information. To get it to work I updated the firmware and connected the router to the modem in accordance with the instructions, when I got the message that a connection was detected I clicked next and entered my user name and password from Astro, 10 seconds later everyhing was up and running. Good luck with setting up yours, I know the frustration when it does not work till now haven't got any solution. wish all sifu here could give me big hand to configure. |

Is it you need manual unplug the LAN port with switching the Channel on Astro? Not sure what you mean by "unplug the LAN port with switching the Channel". What I did differently was - to follow the setting on the Maxis box -> setting the router IP address as 192.168.1.254. I still doubt that matters but anyway I did it. But what happens after that is LAN Port 3 on my Asus RT-N66U is now useless, i cannot connect to it and I have yet to find a solution. |
