Hi Asus,

Recently I've bought RT-N14UHP router to replace the default Unifi router (5 years+ of age). Intention was to support 2 household capacity and more importantly a stable connection, which the old router did not provide.

But I've been getting random disconnections every 30 minutes - 1 hour or so, then it will reconnect again after 1 minute, sometimes 2-3 mins. Here is the error message from the system log (again this log occurs every 30mins - 1hr):

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Sometimes fail to connect because of WAN authentication issue (recently system log cleared due to resetting the modem so I can't copy paste here atm). Cannot be right? The PPPoE username/password should be correct already..

So I looked around and tried things like:
1. Setting the bandwidth to 20MHz instead of 20/40MHz, and Control Channel 11,
2. Power cycled the modem router, rebooted thru the router config page,
3. Updated to latest ASUS firmware,
4. Recently factory reset the router but somehow I didn't go through the router registration/installation process again?
5. Changed LAN IP to something like 192.168.10.1 (instead of the default 192.168.1.1) <-- Not sure about this, my brain fry already..  rclxub.gif

And still having the same problem. Any idea how to fix this issue? Quite frustrating la cause my real intention is to have stress-free gaming after work without all the lag and disconnects and what not haha. And the entire household is affected.

Note that I'm not using any ethernet cable atm and I did not replace the original Unifi modem which is also 5 years+ of age already. Original router did not have this issue. Just want to enquire further before I proceed further. Thanks!

Hi huan7,

Can you try go to WAN->Internet Connection->Special Requirement from ISP->MAC Address and click on the MAC Clone button and then click Apply.

And for resetting the router, press the reset button with a pen which is located at the back of the router and press more that 5 seconds, you will notice the power LED light blinking. Release the button when the LED is blinking.

Thank you

Hi firdausbhari,

Can you try to delete the current router and redo the setup?

My colleagues has updated the AiCloud in his iOS to the latest version 2.0.0.1.75 and seen like it is okay.

Thank you

Hi gahkin,

Maybe you can try updating the firmware to the latest.

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/...2488.1495791305

Usually it will need minimum 3 minutes to boot up, the more features the router is, the longer it need to boot up, just like windows.

Thank you

Asus mesh networking feature is coming to the Asus routers. The beta is already available for RT-AC68U.

I tried it recently, performance is decent and roaming works really well. My phone can roam seamlessly between the different APs.

I have an AC68U and older Asus routers N55U and N12. Could I get AiMesh to work for me with 1 router (AC68U) or does it require all Asus my routers to have AiMesh in the firmware?

I doubt it will be available on older hardwares.

Currently the beta is only available on RT-AC68U

So... all routers must have AiMesh builtin their respective firmware to support this feature eh?
Guess I'll be stuck with wireless APs for awhile longer.

Hi Asus Support!
Can I flash the rt-ac58u router with the firmware for tr-ac1300uhp ?
or maybe you have a newer and stable version than 380.7485 for rt-ac58u?

A firmware update is required as this is a fully fledged mesh networking without backhaul required.

It comes with roaming and band steering as well. I see a lot of potential with this feature.

The router is unstable.
Often there are disconnections.
2 devices can not work at the same time,
if a tvbox works at 5 GHz, then the Internet does not work on a laptop with 2.4 GHz

I just bough the Asus RT-AC88U, I flashed to the latest firmware from https://www.asus.com/my/Networking/RT-AC88U...pDesk_Download/

Version 3.0.0.4.382.15850

But for setting up UNIFI, I have the correct login and password, but during the setup wizard, I don't have the selection for the usual "Select ISP Profile: Unifi-Business" or checkbox for "Special Requirement from ISP" hence I'm unable to connect to Unifi. Is there a correct firmware with Unifi Support?

Go to LAN setting, then choose iptv, from there you can manual enter vlan ID.
