ASUSmy
I just got my free unifi upgrade from 50Mbps to 100Mbps. Now im using Asus RT-AC55UHP. When i test my 5GHz wifi connection i can only get around 20-30Mbps download but can get 50Mbps upload. Only 1 device is connected when i run my speedtest. I tried factory reset my router and set it new but will get error that my password is wrong. This error is false because i can use the same username and password to connect to other router that TM provide to me to test my speed without any problem. I also can get 100Mbps download & 50Mbps upload using the router that TM provided to me. Please advice.

Firmware Version:3.0.0.4.380_4180

Perhaps its something with the QoS? Maybe temporary disable QoS and see if that helps

@ASUSmy

I'm on UniFi and using RT-AC68U with firmware 3.0.0.4.380.7743

I just noticed IPv6 would fail if I enable UPnP (in Advance Settings > WAN > Internet Connections)

UPNP enabled = IPv6 works
UPNP disabled = IPv6 does NOT work

Is this normal and functioning as intended?

I waited 2mins then ran the IPv6 tests and still it failed. But it is all good and working now after I upgraded to Merlin's and forced a reboot biggrin.gif

On http://ipv6-test.com/ it recommends me to..

"Reconfigure your firewall
Your router or firewall is filtering ICMPv6 messages sent to your computer. An IPv6 host that cannot receive ICMP messages may encounter problems like some web pages loading partially or not at all
."

I've tried disabling the IPv6 firewall and still get that message. Might you be able to kindly advise me what I could do to correct this please?

Hi posthumous,

Disabling and and enabling UPNP will cause the IPv6 to be disconnected for a while, but it will connect back after few second.

Would you be able to see is there any IPv6 IP address at IPv6 section or System Log->IPv6?

Thank you

Asus mesh networking feature is coming to the Asus routers. The beta is already available for RT-AC68U.

I tried it recently, performance is decent and roaming works really well. My phone can roam seamlessly between the different APs.

I have an AC68U and older Asus routers N55U and N12. Could I get AiMesh to work for me with 1 router (AC68U) or does it require all Asus my routers to have AiMesh in the firmware?

So... all routers must have AiMesh builtin their respective firmware to support this feature eh?
Guess I'll be stuck with wireless APs for awhile longer.

Hi ASUSmy,

I have a AC86U and a AC68U in AiMesh

Can I add a Lyra Trio into this existing AiMesh, or is the Lyra not compatible with AiMesh?

I was considering to upgrade my AC86U to a BE86U, primarily for the gui VLAN interface. I want to create 3 VLAN networks - main, IoT, and guest; where the main network can communicate/access with the IoT and guest networks, but not the other way around.

Then I saw this video,

https://youtu.be/8A_xCZTdJXo?t=321

From the video, it appears Asus' routers can't do what I want due to a lack of firewall/traffic rules. Has this issue been fixed/addressed or is it still the case?
